    morning all

meanmarie - thanks for the advice last night - now why didn't I think of that

Hester - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! - oh well - i have good waterproofs

last day at w*rk today and I've got the same grumpy judge that i had yesterday - it's a video link court and the connection is pretty bad sometimes. He was not impressed yesterday that my technical know-how was limited to turning it off at the wall and starting again - still he's quick so I should get out nice and early.

Have a good day everyone :)

  • Morning all,

SOMO1, my mind has turned to thoughts of Christmas too... much as I don't want to think about it (it's too early), I do want to start getting bits in. I've got some baskets I bought in Dunelm mill back in January that cost me about £1.33 each, so need to think about who I'm buying for & what.
Ageandjo, that's good news about OH's neck scan, fingers crossed for the other tests. Don't be afraid to give the police a call & give them a nudge either.
Floss2, well done on the ironing - wonder if W-Sybil ever got to hers...lol
    (I don't do ironing unless it's essential!!)
Hester, definitely push for the H&S stuff - the angle about not being able to work to your full capacity/efficiency & produce as much for them often helps too... lol, but you need it sorted so you don't damage your health at work.
PenPin, good luck with this afternoon..... ;) enjoy!!!!
Betheebee - can't say anything much very constructive for you, hope that it turns out to be nothing much or just a reaction to medication perhaps. (((((hugs)))))) for you and your DB's, and the rest of the family. I'm glad he's going to tell them, keeping stuff like that to yourself isn't necessarily the best thing to do, although he's trying to protect them I know. But now he can get more support from them too. It takes some of the load off you perhaps? Not that you will stop worrying, of course. (sorry, don't think any of that makes sense really).
VickyA, if your foot has been puffy for a few days & not improving, I'd either go to the doctors, otherwise give NHS Direct a call & see what they say? Have you been bitten by something & reacted to it?

Basically all the stuff I put on freecycle has gone so there is room to move in my cabin. I am going to have a full day (later in the week) of going through all my craft stuff as there is now so much I don't even use. May make up some boxes of assorted items to ebay.

Today not much OSing probably - we have Zac's funeral at lunchtime, so it will be a tough day, especially for DD. She & some of his other friends have helped his family decide upon music, and is going off to the burial with them, then back to the church. Already I associate Coldplay & Viva La Vida with it, and it brings a lump to my throat. It is going to be a celebration of his life, but will still be very sad too.

(((((((hugs)))))))))))))) too all those feeling poorly, or sad, or just needing them.
    Have a good day all.

    Morning everyone

Its not raining here at the moment, but very damp and dark so I suppose its just a matter of time!

Stef - you've reminded me that I need to get our airbed out and put it up to make sure no holes have appeared in it, we will be sleeping on it all next week at my parents house. Luckily its one of those with an electric pump attached and very high, quite comfy really.

Meanmarie - good thinking about the wine shop, I don't even mind buying a bottle of wine, we will have to get one to go in it anyway, will have a look next week while we are away, have only got a Bargain Booze here, not sure they go in for fine wine and boxes :rotfl:

Its DSD's birthday today, 14. OH put a card through on his way to work this morning, must remember to text her later. Hope it does dry up a bit as think she is having a sleepover in tents in their garden tonight

Think dinner tonight will be quiche as have loads in the freezer. Apart from that am not sure what else I am doing today, OH asked if I wanted to go with him today just to get out, but I said no, I don't really like travelling and am already not looking forward to the journey next week.

    Have a good day

    I've been Money Tipped!
What a lot of fun things there are on this thread - boobies and good news, it is a pleasure to read.

Today I am going to take little bear to his first haircut at a barbers. My dear heart goes to the barbers at the end of the street (no ladies allowed) and so I insisted he asked about getting little bear's hair cut. It will cost £6, they take great pains to be calm with little ones and just do the best they can with the wiggly ones. When dear heart asked about how old before they would cut a little one's hair they said they were reluctant before six months. :j

And then I will GET ON WITH THE IRONING. Yesterday I got the iron switched on before little bear decided he needed his mum - and I mean he was very insistent. Last night I ended up bringing him downstairs again after his bedtime routine - only about the third time in his life! If he is just grumbling to sleep or complaining that he is in his cot then I am quite happy to let him get on with it (heartless woman that I am) but yesterday was not good. He was seriously distressed when I tried to change his nappy - there was no soreness and the nappy was only a bit wet so I have no idea what that was about. I think he may have had nightmares because he kept checking under the bed. Dear heart was less helpful than he could have been but he is absolutely exhausted.

There are normally three people that work in dear heart's office. One is on holiday in Devon and one burst their appendix at the weekend. When there are three in the office they are all busy, so dear heart has been absolutely frantic and exhausted when he gets home. The gentleman with the appendix - or rather lack of appendix - has been signed off for several weeks, although he has already been discharged from hospital. It is quite possible that he will still be off when it gets to the date we have booked our holiday.

It is the first holiday we have had in several years, extremely inexpensive holiday cottage less than one hundred miles from our house and I am desperately looking forward to it. Dear heart does not really enjoy holidays away, but with little bear he is looking forward to trips to the seaside and such. My father is coming with us and all the men get on so well it will be such a good time. If we can go. The boss would happily let dear heart go - the others he works with are lovely. But dear heart, I think, would feel that it would be unfair to leave him on his own in the office, especially as they are so busy. I am beginning to doubt that we will get away.

Well, I shall buck myself up, get little bear ready and get to the barbers nice and early so that he can be trimmed.

Morning chums , alls well in my world this morning ,even though the weather is looking a bit grey at the moment .
I am going to my youngest DDs this morning as her home hairdresser is coming to trim her hair, and I am going to get a tiny snip as well just to tidy up the ends a bit .No big deal to many but to me, who for 6 months had no hair at all, it's wonderful.now I just want it to grow a bit longer on top so i can brush it as well.
Its so good not to have to wear scarves or my hats anymore. Every day I start to feel more 'normal' IYKWIM.
I have my sis-in-law coming on Saturday for a few days so there will be a fair bit of wine-tasting in my house.
My DD took her four boys to get some school uniform yesterday It cost her over £150 for shoes alone .Her 12 year olds were £42 !!! more than she pays for her own shoes.
Plimsolls for her 4 year old were £8 00 !! I can't believe what a rip-off childrens shoes are as they are only in them for 3 months at the most.Good job she has three part-time jobs on the go at the moment.
Her youngest Mikey, is just moving to Reception from Nursery and I said I will help her out with his uniform.Bless him he is so excited that he will be going to big boys school like his brothers. It doesn't seem five minutes ago he was born ,they grow so quickly.
I am still working my way through my freezer it seems endless but I am determined not to buy anything else to go in there until its empty.
I am finding things that I had forgotten in there, it leads to quite an interesting menu though. Well time to get the kettle on for breakfast I think I 'll have some cereal this morning as I seem to have a fair bit of odd boxes in the cupboard, I think I'll fill my big plastic container with all the bits out of different boxes and have a mixture. Different grandchildren like different breakfast cereals, hence the reason I have about 5 different half empy boxes. Anyone for a bowl of rice crispies/weetabix/sugar puffs/cornflakes at all ?
<<hugs to those in need >> and a big :) to the rest of you

VickyA - did you do all your exercises on the plane? It might just be a bit of fluid retention after the journey, but I would either call NHS Direct or try & see your GP, stressing the long-haul flight to the receptionist to get in quickly.

    Stressed,

My friend went through Quidco for her tyres. She ended up getting them from the company she usually uses, but for lots less. Might be worth a quick look ?
