I think it will finish me off. I don't deal with death well (who does?). After my partner and daughter, I said i'd never get close again. I know people will say 'they are just cats, but they are individuals who I have been extremely close too for 14 years when humans let me down time after time.

Just the thought of losing them makes me tearful.

I know exactly how you feel. I hate it when people say "its just a cat/dog". We get so attached to these little friends of ours and its devastating when they go. They are worth a hundred times certain human beings. They are always there and they never judge and don't care if you look awful or are having a bad day - they just snuggle up to you as though you are the best thing in the world!

Well, i've been to the vets and was in tears at one point at some of the possible scenarios as it didn't look good.

However, the tests have come back negative for Feline Aids and Leukaemia, which is great.

She has to go back later in the week and have some more tests, as the vet is not sure what it could be yet, although she has suggested a few things like overactive thyroid.

She has an ulcer on her eye and has some eyedrops for a 7 days.

The cat was fantastic and behaved as well as she always does. I came home and was scared she wouldn't forgive me for subjecting her to blood tests etc etc, but she's perfectly fine and happy and the vet was really good. The whole team at the surgery were friendly and helpful. It wasn't the vet that I had a nightmare with last week, this was a different vet and i'm glad we went to them!

Sorry I haven't replied to other posts - I shall do, i'm just going to need to recover for a bit as i've warn myself out with panic and fear :o

I cant believe after all the grief hes given you you are taking him out for a treat. he would be grounded for a month in my house
Flames in the Garden of Eden
Heaven in pieces at my feet
    I faced the raging ruins
    Of a million sleepless nights
I need to rest my weary head
    On your resurrection bed.

I'd just like to explain a little to you hun - I hope shaz doesn't mind.unsure.gif

She has adolescent twins who both have physical and mental health disabilities and shaz is raising them alone whilst fighting with her own mental health issues. These are the reasons that your suggestion wouldn't work.

I have nothing but respect for shaz, who is a true survivor and who is coping very well against all the odds. And despite going through all of this, she still manages to think of others, fights all her battles and pursues any positive opportunities that come her way.
An extra blue smartie for shaz this morning!action-smiley-033.gifsLo_hug2.gif

    Hi guys!hello.gif
Just to let you know that DS arrived safely on Sunday, with some laundry, no reading books, an empty bank account and very hungry!waiting.gif
You can tell he's home because the couch and the floor are full, the fridge is empty - as is my purse!sCo_watchout.gif - there's more washing up, our dear friends from domino's pizza are delivering again, his ipod wires are permanently attached to his ears, he's not arising until noon and his music centre, pc, games console and the tv are all on at the same time - it seems he has mastered the art of being in four places at once!rolleyes.gif
I think I'm coping very well, all things considered...

    laughing-smiley-014.gif
    ...And yet, I wouldn't change a single thing!sLo_love2.gif
He gave me the biggest hugs when he got home.sport-smiley-001.gif
It's so good to see him even though by last night, he had returned to grunting monosyllabic noises as responses to my questions. There again, he is going to visit his father today.biggrin.gif
The time is flying by faster than I could have imagined and he'll be returning to London all too soon.sad4.gif
He's anxious about living in London, (well sazzy does live there!biggrin.gifsLo_hug2.gif), and he has already seen the more dangerous side of city life. Add to that the fact that he is in a very tough regime at Rambert in all aspects, training hard to reach their world class standards and the fact that at 18, he's just left home and is unsure of everything, dislikes his lodgings and I guess it's no wonder it feels like a struggle and a bit chaotic for him right now - just as it is for any Tiffling when they fly the nest.wink.gif
At least he likes his tutors and 99% of his peers there and is making friends easily. The students are all close to each other as they come from all four corners of the world and there isn't that many of them, so it's bit like an extended family.yes.gifaction-smiley-033.gif
I know this is all as it should be and he's in the best place, doing what he loves that offers him the best opportunities and starting his life out as an adult . I can't ask for more than that and maybe it shows that I haven't done too bad a job raising him, after all.
...So, anybody want to adopt a cat?cat.gifwink.gifsLo_hug2.gif
    Much Love,

  • Little Johnny 's next door neighbors had a baby.
Unfortunately, the little baby was born with no ears.

When they arrived home from the hospital, the parents invited Little Johnny's family to come over and see their new baby. Little Johnny's parents were very afraid that their son would have a wise crack to say about the baby so the dad had a long talk with little Johnny before going to the neighbors.

He said "Now, son... that poor baby was born without any ears. I want you to be on your best behavior and not say one word about his ears or I am really going to spank you when we get back home."

"I promise not to mention his ears at all" said Little Johnny.

At the neighbors home, Little Johnny leaned over in the crib and touched the baby's hand He looked at it's mother and said "Oh What a Beautiful little baby". The mother said "Thank you very much, Little Johnny."

He then said, "this baby has perfect little hands and perfect little feet. Why... just look at his pretty little eyes.... Did his doctor say that he can see good?"

The Mother said "why, yes Johnny... his doctor said he has 20/20 vision.

Little Johnny said "well, its a darn good thing, cause he sure couldn't wear glasses!!!
