For me its my dogs! I love them and they love me no matter what. If I want to snuggle on the sofa they will snuggle with me, if I want to go for a long walk they are happy to do that too. They are always happy to see me and never fall out with me even when Im in a horrible mood!:p

gem - how are you hunnie? I haven't had a catch-up with you for a while. I just wanted to say that I've noticed how supportive you are to so many here, angel.action-smiley-033.gif I think it's so lovely of you to defend others when you feel the need to do so.angel-smiley-002.gif Hope all is well with you, hun.sLo_hug2.gif

Thanks Tiff,I am ok ,like a lot of us i am not at my best at this time of the year,i hate the cold and the dark nights.I am however managing my depression quite well at the moment, not sure if my hormones have settled down(i am going through the menapause)or that i am just learning to manage better.I tend to get depressed if i think too much so i don't give myself time to think, when not at work i am either busy online or reading.I have always been a big reader maybe because when i am reading about someone elses life i don't have time to think about my own.I had my first counselling apointment in August which went ok.She said she was passing me on to someone else but i have not heard anything yet, not sure if i should phone and enquire as she did not say how long it would take just that i would get a letter through the post.
It was lovely to have an update about your son, glad he is enjoying the course,I bet the house will be very quiet when he goes back but it is not long until christmas when he will be home again

  • Hello Dear Everyone,

How are all you lovely people? Did I hear my name mentioned by that young Tiff?...
So glad to see my favourite Miro posting again...photo please: 4th request!

I am sorry to read that many of you feel uncomfortable posting here, but I understand why and have been considering how best to help.
It's well known that many e.g. psychiatrists enter the profession to learn, understand and try and resolve their own personal issues. It can be very difficult to directly ask for help if you are a professional person, and it's your job to help others.

So sorry to hear of your continued difficulties Shaz (am behind with posts as usual sorry). You must be exhausted. IMHO children are like loudspeakers, who 'broadcast' and act out usually unexpressed family conflicts and issues. What would help you best right now? Your feelings are important.

Now, young Tiff, you know CB2 loves cats and is happy to adopt them. You're most welcome hun to come and stay chez moi in my happy peaceful home whenever you like....and that goes for any of my friends here.

My news...Dr CB2 has got himself promoted in less than 2 months lecturing in Shanghai. He seems well liked by his Chinese students; they are so respectful and keen to learn.
Me thinks he's made the right move considering changes happening in the global economy....

For those of you interested, IHMO it's spot-on....

My Adopted Cheeky Monkey and I continue to have fun together (Fright Nights at Theme Parks this week!).
Physically removing herself from the dysfunctional and abusive family situation she was in, plus plenty of hugs and a stable environment, was basically all that was needed to cure her (longstanding) depression.

So there is hope for you all.

    Take care everyone
