Btw, sorry shaz for being wrapped up in my own problems I never even mentioned yours. I don't have any idea really what you are going through - how could I? but I am a teacher in an SLD EBD and ASD school so I do have some understanding of the challenges these young people and their parents face. Can I ask if you get any respite care? If not can you get some, and if so, would it be possible to get it increased? Just to give you a bit more of a break?

My sick pay runs out in 2 months. Then the fun will really start lol

Im no expert on benefits but you may be entitled to Incapacity Benefit once your sickpay runs out. You have to fit certain criteria (I think you have to have been working for 10 years to get it) but it may be worth you looking into this.

hiya, the only respite i get is during the week when daniel is at school, its half term this week, so only another seven days to go. don't envy your job working in an ebd school, thats the type my son attends, haveing two at home is bad enough, let alone a few in a class together

police have been involved in past, when daniel is in one of his moods, nothing they say has any effect on him, he has been arrested a number of times.
am seriously thinking of increasing his medication again, as that is the only thing that seems to work. his pychiatrist will be able to confirm if this is a good idea when i ring his clinic tommorrow afternoon, just need to get through today, he still hasnt come home yet, have no idea where he is

Are you not entitled to any respite shaz? Surely you must be. Nearly every parent in my school gets some - some a little bit; some loads. I even do respite for two kids myself via Direct Payments. You may have to fight a bit for it but your GP should back you up.

Oh and I just remembered, my school does holiday clubs in all the school holidays. SOmetimes parents have to pay for it but if they are on a low income then the LA will pay (and even arrange transport if necessary). Is there anything like that near you? Our kids do all sorts of stuff from cooking to video games to rock climbing etc etc.
