This is great news, i last wrote on here in May 2007 telling of my troubles with Setanta, what goes around comes around.0

I agree. I just canceled my dd as it would be taken tomorrow.0

From the BBC Website:
The administrator Deloitte said that it would shortly cease broadcasting to customers in Great Britain but would continue to operate elsewhere.
They said they would immediately stop collecting subscription payments. :T

First of all I am sorry to hear that more people are being made redundant in all of this :-( All the best to them!
Secondly a query which a few people I am expecting to have.....My recent DD went through to Setanta on 16th June so obviously I have paid 12.99 for a months worth of viewage (best word I could think of)....now that the channel is pretty much 'offline' now....what happens?!? Any experts can tell me if I can get that back now Setanta is in administration?
Whats my options? Thanks!!!

If you want to try to get the money back for the time that you paid but are not getting any service then you would need to join the list of creditors in the administration. You would need to get in contact with the administrator Delotte. I wouldn't hold much hope out of getting anything back though. Sorry maybe your bank or CC have a policy regarding goods and services and refunds in cases of administration?0

You really should have cancelled your DD before now, but you could check with your bank to see if they will refund it. I doubt it though.0

setanta website now confirms administration0

My payments are/were taken at the start of every month but I've always been a month in credit right the start (would have been useful if ever needing to cancel as I wouldn't need to give the month's notice).
So I'm losing a month too effectively but que sera sera.
[Wonder where the UFC'll go? Looks like I'll be *ahem* downloading post event from now on.]0 -

Very true...guess I was too optimistic about the whole thing and thought good things may happen in the endbut they didnt. I will check with the bank anyways but I wont hold my breath! Thanks for the reply!
