How to cancel Setanta Sports

As setanta have now lost the rights to the scottish premier games and the english premier games, I am going to cancel my subscription as they were the only reason i signed up in the first place.
I am wondering whether or not to cancel and give them the 30 days notice, or wait and see if they go under which is looking more likely. If they go under, I presume I can just cancel my direct debit and that will be that. We shall wait and see?0 -
my email got bounced again.
i tried the website given above, and hopefully that will work ok.
strangly, they didnt collect their monthly subscription today. usually it comes out on the 22nd! wonder whats going on.0 -
I did the £20.00 deal via TopUp Tv they said to cancel with name address and if you have it reference number either phone in office hours or email enquiries@topuptv.comThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. i pay via debit card. I remember i lost my debit card a year or so ago and setanta started sending me requests saying they could not take the money from my card etc.
So im guessing if i just order a new debit card then this is the same scenario as cancelling a direct debit? setanta cant take any money off me?
I hope setanta rot and burn in hell they deserve everything they get after the way they have treated there customers. Coudlnt be happier theyve lost SPL and EPL games. Hopefully they wont survive much longer.0 -
eastern daily press reports espn have had their bid accepted for both premier packages (46 match ) that setanta lost.
and it is expected they will go for the spl ones as well.0 -
I've just sent Setanta an email telling them that I've cancelled my subscription and stopped the direct debit. To be honest, I don't give a monkey's if they tell me that I need to give them a month's notice and so make a further payment. As far as I'm concerned, they no longer can supply the product I'm paying for and that's the end of it.
I'm sorry for anyone who is about to lose their job, but Setanta's performance with regards to customer service has been worse than woeful from the start, so they don't deserve any sympathy from their customers.0 -
I cancelled my Setanta subscription the morning. Be aware that it took 1 hour and 5 minutes on the telephone, and then they tell you you have to send a letter or email anyway. The telephone options for cancellation do not work. They just try to get credit card details for a reduced subscription of £5. I eventual got through by choosing a different option (not cancellation) I gave all my details twice and was then passed to the cancellation department. Gave all my details for a third time and was then told to cancel I had to email requests@setanta.com. You have to include your name and address, your Setanta account number and if you subscribe via Sky your Sky viewing card number. You must give all these details for the request to be met. I also cancelled my Direct Debit as soon as I sent the email. If you have all the required details I would suggest that it is a complete waste of time telephoning Setanta, just skip that and go straight to the email. I personally had no record of my Setanta account number, so the phone call was useful for me (as they gave me my AC number).0
