  • morning everyone

Aussie great to see you posting again and I'm not in the least bit jealous of your cruise. Really. I'm not. Honestly.:p :D
ppixie hope DS is ok now - he likes to start your day with a little high drama, doesn't he. Poor wee soul. Maybe if you offered to do twink's ironing, she might babysit for you. ;)
floss2 you can watch the Hairy Bakers on BBCi online. It should be available for one week after it's broadcast. Don't know about Rankin's Edinburgh as that was on ITV (I think) but ITV may offer something similar.
joannasmum hope you have a great holiday and the weather clears for you.
Pen-Pin it's hard to be fussed over, I know, but your Mum probably felt that she was really helping you relax and rest.

I e-mailed Lakeland yesterday about the rise in price of the Remoska and they have confirmed that as I am on their mailing list and received the summer brochure, I can have it at the lower price until 31st August. So, guess what I will be doing today? ;)

BT are supposed to be calling me today to discuss "compensation" for having no phone or broadband for five days last week. They only discuss this by phone - not e-mail or sms or letter - so it will be interesting to see what attitude the person has when they phone. Now I just have to decide what I think I reasonable level of compensation is - I did have to use my mobile phone quite a few times to contact people (including BT) - and see if they agree with me.

I managed to get DS and DD's school shoes at the Clarks Factory Shop yesterday so saved quite a little bundle there. Also got DD a fabulous waterproof jacket in Matalan that was reduced to £2.50! :j It really suits her so I'm very pleased with that.

Have told BT I'm available till 10 this morning then after 4.00pm today so I may as well make myself useful til 10 then DS and DD and I will head for the gym. After that we are going to M&S for DS's school trousers and shirts. I have found that buying cheaper trousers and shirts for DS are a false economy so paying the extra for the M&S quality is definitely worth it.

Time for a cuppa. Have a tremendous Tuesday. xx

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I've been awake since 5.30am. I'd have thought that jet lag would have stopped now.

Aussie - do you have space in your bag for me? NZ was fab and you'll love it!

Penny Pincher - glad you "survived" your mum and you're now back in the safety of your DH and DD!

My trip to Mr T's yesterday was a nightmare. I'd completely forgotten how annoying I find it and how busy it is. I still maintain that people leave their brains at the door of that shop (apart from me, naturally :D)

I need to walk down into town later this morning, but I am just wondering whether I can get away with not taking an umbrella or not........... hmm.... Probably will be wise to take one!

I've got a few books listed on Readitswapit and two people have requested a swap for the same book. I don't know which book to choose to swap it with, if at all.

Right, I've got to go for a shower and then try to find the recipe that I've used for veggie lasagne. It's well over a year since I last did it, so I don't really want to mess it up too badly!

Wassat then??!! lol - my brain is not working enough & I can't figure out anything other than Husband...?? :o

Betheebee, you do not bore us, and as MSD says, we all need to have a whinge sometimes - I think this is a great place to do it.
JoannasMum, have a great time in Wales, fingers crossed for the weather for you!
Essex-girl, we don't have a Paperchase either - thank heavens. I'd probably empty the store otherwise....
PenPin, I agree with AnnieBL, it is hard when someone fusses & you wish they'd leave you alone, but at the same time you know they're doing it because they care... Having it in small doses sounds like a good idea.
AnnieBL, sounds like you got some bargains - I have to go & buy school uniform for 2 of my DD's as well.

Time for more tea I think.

    Morning :hello:

I'm suffering from brain-drain :D I slept for the grand total of one and a half hours on sunday night, tried to sleep yesterday afternoon and finally fell asleep just after 6pm. 10 minutes later the phone rang and woke me up  I had about 8 hours sleep last night but still feel shattered.

I have to put the TD on today, I'm not too happy about that lol. I hung them on the airer yesterday morning and they're still damp, if I leave them any longer they'll smell yucky.

Can't be bothered to go out so I'll catch up with the ironing, make some cakes, divide mr troo's chilli into portions and smoosh the tomatoes :D I'll try to get a couple of hours sleep this afternoon.

I have a couple of cheques that need paying in, can someone nip to the bank for me? Ta :D

I'm off to make more coffee lol.

Betheebee I forgot to say too that you don't moan. This is the one place where we can all vent our frustrations, sadness, anger as well as all the good things that happen. Don't feel guilty about it.

VickyA do ReaditSwapit give you guidelines on what to do if two people ask for the same book? I was looking at that site at the weekend and am wondering if it would be useful. I take it you don't get your book back as you are continually swapping?

Kettle has boiled so I'm definitely off this time. :D

    Morning everyone

I have been up ages but done nothing apart from trying to buy one of those wooden wine boxes that hold 1 bottle of wine. I want a blank one as I want to decorate it myself, we are going to a wedding in Oct and have no idea what to buy as they are a more mature couple who have everything, I thought I could decorate the box to match the card I'm making and stick a nice bottle of wine in it. But, not many places sell just 1 and the one that I found wanted double the cost in carriage. Back to the drawing board.

As usual weathermanf3.gifI do hope its better next week when we are away.

grouphugg.gif for those who need one

Off to try and find something to do apart from HW :D
whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

    Stopped smoking 20:30 28/09/11 :D

I could reject both swaps, if I didn't want to read any of either person's books. If I accepted one, then the other would be automatically cancelled. You never get your book back, as you are continually swapping and you only swap with books that you want. The problem with both the people that have requested a swap is that they both have books that I'd like to read!!!!

I know that Shez  has joined up too. It's great as you only have to pay the cost of the postage  and you choose books that you want to read and you don't accept them if you don't want to read anything. Does that make sense? I'm not very coherent at the moment!!!
