Good morning - part two! Started then oh appeared and waffled on and distracted me!
Sunday turned into a miserable day, when our last kitten gave a little squeak and keeled over dead. No idea what was wrong with him, but he'd been feeding and a vet pal had seen him a few days before and said how healthy he looked, so can only guess it was something congenital? We still have our two cats though, but dd2 was inconsolable about this kitten, especially after the other two dying. She seems to have recovered a bit now, think living in the country helps, the children seem to have a realistic view about how nature works.
Never managed to post yesterday as got caught up in cooking! Did portion up and freeze huge amounts of spag bol sauce, served some up for lunch and then made the rest into portions of chilli for the freezer. Made rolls and bread and assorted other bits. Need to make some tray bakes and cookies and treats ready for lunch boxes, then have a swap round and sort out of the freezers so that at least some of the treats are in the inside freezer!
Got some more cupboard paint yesterday as well, want to redo the kitchen cupboards, they're looking worn and tired now, bit like me, but i don't think porcelein tough paint would help me much lol! Might leave that job till kids go back to school though, otherwise I shall have to stand guard to stop them touching wet paint! Whizzed into Somerfield and picked up some whoopsied fish and meat, their's always seems really good quality and value, so have some more bits for the new freezer, will have probs with getting in the lamb and beef if i don't stop finding bargains!
A friend popped in to say hello as he was working down the road from us. It's his birthday in a couple of weeks, but he'll be away then, so the girls gave him his pressies, lots of silly little bits but all went down well. They want to do him a jelly and ice cream party when he gets back as well - he'll be 28!!!
Ordered dd1's new blazer as they didn't have any in her size in stock, more money! And paid out for dd1's and ds's new pe kits, now monogrammed. I am not happy about it at all, these are state schools, and whilst the area I live in is generally affluent, what about those people who really can't afford it and how does it make their children feel, and them for that matter. The uniform costs for my three eldest this time have been totally ridiculous.
Haven't done much except brekkie this morning, was working last night so thought I'd grab a couple of hours whilst the kids were still asleep! Have done the dw and wm, was going to hang washing out, but sky looking a bit black and air is so damp. Made some foccacia and it's rising in the remoska ready to cook later for lunch, might try it as a deep pan pizza instead, think I might need to cook the base first though, cos it'll need a lot of toppings to stop it seeming too much dough in comparison!
Finally my dehydrator arrived, been waiting since I ordered it last Sunday, okay not really that long, but I'm very keen to try it out! I want to try making some fruit winder type things, dds all love these, but they are way too expensive to keep buying. I have some mushrooms and some toms I'm going to try in it as well, want to do sun dried toms as they are dd1's fave and she can eat jars in a sitting! They might make a nice addition to the food hampers I want to do for Christmas. Reminds me, must make mango chutney and lime pickle later, mangoes are 22p each (I think) in Lidl at the mo. Also need to hunt down some large containers of vinegar for pickling - anyone know anywhere I can buy any? And if anyone has any good dehydrator tips I'd be more than happy to receive them, please!
Off to check for a dehydrator thread now, and catch up here! Hope everyone has lovely days xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Hi oldMcdonald! Yes, I made a boob. You may know of our charity knitting thread on here? Well, we are also members of www.lovinghands.org.uk and they are running a Pimp my Boob competition which arose from a scheme for knitting breasts which are used to help teach people how to breast feed. Someone on their forum sent in a knitted breast but decided to put a face on it first. This gave Lou, the group's leader, the idea of asking people to send in knitted breasts decorated any way we want. They will be judged then used to raise money for charity. There's an easy pattern you can ask for and the breasts are very realistic. Mine has been sitting on my coffee table and has become a conversation stopper! In fact, my BIL has asked for a pair for Christmas! (Yes, he is a bit strange!)

That is amazing! Knitted boobs!!!:rotfl::rotfl:
I had a look at the link you sent (bit dissapointed I could find no piccies of knitted boobs), what a lovely site. I can't knit for toffee - no patience I'm afraid - and I am always so impressed by all that knitters can create (There was a wonderful knitted head teacher and office on the site somewhere!).
What am awful accident the lady who runs the site had, it sounds like she has been very lucky to get through it, and all caused by such a simple thing as slipping in the bath. Do you know how she is doing now?0 -
Morning all,
Another wet day here  getting really sick of it here, I am desperate to have a day in the garden, I need to plant out my winter seedlings, but have not had a chance.
Off to town today to get dd's uniform, she only needs a jumper skirt and PE shoes so not too bad, think we might go to the pitcures while we are there, we have not seen mumma mia yet.
Not sure what is for tea, either pesto pasta with garlic bread, or yesterdays leftover roast chicken with new pots and salad.
Shez, hugs to you today xx
Johanas mum, enjoy your holiday x
Hugs to smoky, beth, candy xx
Jayward, special hugs to you today xx
Can't remember who posted the recipe, but yesterday dd made custard biscuits, and a custard tart while I was doing the dinner, they were delish, we also watched a dvd in th afternoon, so a nice day.
Have good days all xx0 -

I hate having no water, actually i have pans full in the kitchen but just feel like i shouldn`t use it - you know - just in case

There was a gap in the rain so i`ve just taken the bears for a quick walk, oldie is now fast asleep and the youngone is making small oofing noises due to the banging from next door, the puzzled look on her face is so comical
I`m starving now so i`ll hop off and make some toast.

Waiting for DDs to come downstairs.
I want to see what my 19 year old thinks of new headboard for her new bed on Tesco site.
I bought a new double bed for her room in the sales (half price) a couple of days ago and was getting round to telling DH in careful stages so he thought it was his idea, then her sister confessed she had already told him!!!!
Also want to go shopping in Leeds to look for pretty purple cushions for her bed. No one seems to be selling stuff in purple or lilac at the moment so have promised if the worst comes to the worst I will get nice fabric and sew cushion covers by hand!
I also want to use my Nectar points at a large Sainsbury for kitchen equipment for her so she is set up for next year in the new house.

Morning all! Thankyou for your warm wellcome! I have been up ages but been busy pottering around - made a big pot of scotch broth soup to use up veggies that were almost past thier best (i'm getting the hang of this!)
It's a bit damp here! trying to entertain little ones with pens and paper - they will be going to the Church play scheme later - so I will get a little peace.
DD1 has an interview for a Saturday job at Virgin cosmetics today - so fingers crossed she will get it and stop mithering me for money!
I have done a menu paln up to next Tues - when we go to Legoland - I'm so dissapointed that all the money off vouchers I've got can't be used in August! But I did get the hotel room cheap - courtesey of MSE!
Got a load of cooking apples fre yesterday -so need to do something with them later! will look arounf this site for inspiration!
Lastly did someone mention Christmas????? oh dear best get organised!0 -

mummysaver - so sorry to hear about your little kitten. It is so sad.
Little bear is asleep, and I am now going to take some 'me' time and then GET ON WITH THE IRONING! I actually like ironing but if I don't get started soon I will have nothing to wear!
Little bear could also do with some clothes ironing but it is less urgent for two reasons. He has lots already ironed, because I always start with the small stuff as it looks like I have done a huge amount when his clothes are so much quicker to iron. Also
if he wears a rumpled teeshirt then he just looks like he has been playing in it, and I can't keep trousers on him anyway so all you see is a crumpled top, the bottom of a vest with a glimpse of nappy and an adorable expression (usually when he's been caught up to something )
I haven't seen evil cat since I fed her this morning - still, she was so much of a nuisance last night she is probably recovering. I came downstairs after finally settling little bear and dear heart told me that no matter how evil cat was an evil cat, she must love me because she gave a little squeak and got out of the cat basket when she heard me coming. Fifteen minutes later I explained to him that the reason she got out of the cat basket to see me is because she finds it easier to get me to feed her than to get him to feed her. Then I fed the evil cat who, after troughing down a whole teaspoon of the cat food I put down, went back into her cat basket and went to sleep.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
