    Mansfield Oak Tree

Oak Tree now have the same policy in place as Mansfield with Coupon Size checks, they are also checking the issue numbers on Coupons against several photocopies they have kept in a big red book. Named coupons are also pulled out if you have more than 2 coupons with 2 different names. Not the most pleasant place to visit.

cant see how they can keep a check on this, as many ppl use different stores

Before you start getting on your high horse again and try to be moralistic.....

Are Tesco not "Stealing" from the likes of Pedigree, Go-Cat, Colgate, Nicorette etc etc by contravening the terms of these companies coupon policys by accepting them off of alternative products. It clearly states on all safe coupons that theyre not to be redeemed against any other product?

Are you that nieve to really think that this is all one big goodwill gesture from "Mr-T"? (Tesco to normal people). This is just another way for Tesco to do what they do best and monopolise with only concern for themselves. They opened the coupon floodgates in an attempt to take custom from its competitors.....not to help joe public through these poor economic times. Please wake up and smell the coffee (2 For 1 at Mr Ts......or 2 For nothing with Coupons).

So next time you want to start enlarging your sentences or make your words a pretty red colour........maybe have a think about the 50 year old family run shops and local business's its closed down in its continued monopoly of towns and villages in this country......2 years ago Mansfield Tesco was a Leisure Centre for the locals to take part in fitness activities, a social drink, comedians, fairs etc.....And you think you can come on here calling people thieves and stealers?

I think you need to open your eyes a little more to the world we live in before attempting to spout off any more drivvel.

WoW PJesus. Someone’s a little rattled!

Okay. Yes I agree Mr T is wrong to accept coupons for items not bought, however he can only redeem vouchers at the sorting house equal to the amount of products sold. And yes, what a fantastic way to take shoppers away from competitors! But that still does not give people the right to take in duplicate couponet coupons. Why are these people doing this, when the only outcome can be that Mr T will change his policy? Mr T will only continue accepting coupons if he’s making money.

I am neither stupid nor naïve! You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that the only action Mr T can take to stop this is to refuse internet coupons altogether.

Yes, two years ago a Leisure Centre stood on the same site as the Chesterfield Road Store, as did GK Ford. Are you naïve enough to think that the local council gave Tesco that site. Mr T will have paid handsomely for that land. (Somehow I don't think he will have got away with stealing it - as you imply) What has the local council done with the money? Have they built a replacement elsewhere? No, of course not...where's the money gone? Incidentally, the Leisure Centre was in need of a major refurbishment and was very run-down. The original Tesco store in the town centre was old and shabby, and eventually that area will be regenerated.

When Oak Tree Lane was rebuilt, 3 years ago. Part of the agreement that Mr T had to agree to (to gain his planning) was that he had to fund and provide a brand new leisure facility at that site. This was to replace the exsisting facilities that were also on that site. This he did - far superior facility than was previously there. Mr T, did Oak Tree Lane Leisure Centre proud! (Credit where it's due- no expense was spared) Also as part of the re-generation for that area he also had to employ a certain percentage of people from the Oak Tree Estate, as unemployment is very high on the estate.

I am neither, for nor against Mr T, my shopping loyalty is with my wallet!

I certainly do not need to wake up and smell the coffee! BUT certain individuals who think they have the right to counterfeit coupons should think very carefully about what they are doing. There are plenty of other coupons available without doing this.
  • taytay which asda were you refused

I was refused at the ASDA in Hounslow.

Would people say to write to the store in question or email the online customer support?
  • the reason I asked which asda was I saw your location is chester which is near me, I use coupons all the time in a store near chester, once the sa said I cant take this unless you buy the product, supervisor said its 10% max, cs said I thought it was only three copons and no internet ones, I said your all wrong, lets ring head office say cs, after about 10 mins they call back take all the coupons, just be firm when speaking to these people and remember some staff may be quite new and if a colleague told you something about coupons you would believe them, its the blind leading the blind I,m afraid

No, I have never had a problem with it but then it's saved to my pc which is always the best advice for unlimited printables (the original links get pulled).

But I am AMAZED to read the ridiculous posts which say that people have been splitting their shopping up to use duplicate coupons (i.e. the same batch of MOCs twice or more in a day at one store). Come on!! Surely those that have done this (with SA agreement) have worked out it's not in line with the Tesco coupon policy?

If I had done this at my local when the coupon policy came in there last year they would soon have clamped down - but I didn't and they didn't. If I had done, I could have saved hundreds per day - for a very short time. Instead I saved whatever I had the MOCs for that day, every day, but with only one of each MOC and ONE visit/transaction per day to that store. It isn't rocket science and many of us seasoned couponers stick to this - if I want more stuff the same day I drive on to a Waitrose or Asda.

Hey presto! I have a fave store that has played ball with me for nearly 18 months (and I have a very high profile there). Please don't moan and groan if your store has suddenly realised (doh!) their cashiers shouldn't have been allowing people to split their shopping and use duplicate MOCs each day. Update or no update (and I think there was no update BTW... ).

I think the confusion has come in since the NOTW vouchers came in where they say 'why not buy more than one copy and use a coupon against each £30 transaction'. But there's a big difference - these are not manufacturers' coupons, they are conditional spend vouchers which they do allow you to use more than one of, if you spend the required amount each time. They are a loss leader and Tesco don't have to reclaim the money, all they care about is that the required spend limit is reached and splitting shopping to use this type of voucher has always been OK.

What part of 'one of each coupon' do some newbies not understand, lol?!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

firstly if you look at the new policy for tesco it clearly states "customers can split their shopping" and secondly we are not duplicating because with one lot of shopping as you are supposed to 1 OF EACH COUPON, once that transaction has been made and the customer does another one they can use 1OF EACH COUPON again, the limited print only as they are always checking the personalised coupon number on the coupon net ones to pick out copies.
  • My first printed off voucher for mitchum deodorant. Used it at my local Tesco...was

Congratulations! It is a thrill isn't it? Hope you enjoy using your coupons and long may it continue. You will find other coupons which you can save to your desktop and print copies of on the no chat thread. ;)
