here, here! returned from my hopls to find this new format and its so hard now to find the actual thread you want - yes I want to know what new coupons are there but its also nice to know how people are faring with them...so why two threads?

    Welcome back.

I fear we may not even need one thread if these rumours are true.

So far we have been told that Asda stop accepting coupons without the product on Wednesday 1st oct, and Tesco are changing their rules today.

We do not know for certain yet though, if this is just area or even store specific. But i for one am frantically trying to use up all my printed coupons, as i think they will be hit first.

Its not the first time we have heard of changes in policy, and im sure it won't be the last.

However, my point is that the posts containing links to new printable coupons (ie clearly NOT chat) have been removed, as well as the chat posts. By removing them, the mods are removing the ability of forum members to thank people individually (by using the thanks button on their post) who have taken time and trouble to post coupon links for others to share, and this WILL stop people posting on here.

This is SO NOT A DIFFICULT CONCEPT. Remove posts which don't have links to coupons, keep the ones that do.

    Rant over!!
I have really tried to resist posting a reply to the chat on this thread (and please remove this in a couple of days) but I had to respond, I totally agree this thread is over policed I have never seen such a clean thread when i compare it to Boots grabbit for example and in fact most other threads, which have hundreds of pages including chat, outdated info etc which isn't ideal, but neither is this. I for one want to see who has posted the coupons, i can then thank them and have the opportunity to send them a PM if nesessary, cleaning it up like this is making it sterile and removing any sense of community this is a forum after all.

Hi all!! Been a long time browser and now decided its time to break my duck with a post!!

Been using several Tesco's local to me over the past few months with these wonderful Coupons.....Alfreton, Mansfield Chest Rd, Mansfield Oak Tree, Top Valley & Hucknall, all of them being a push over at first.....but now the Coupon gates are gradually closing shut!!

So my store reviews just for you happy shoppers!

    Mansfield. Chesterfield Road

Probably the best one of the lot for me until recently, a decent bunch of staff who didnt seem to mind or complain about coupons, never any problems with checkout staff (majority use them themselves), supervisors never picky and all in all a pleasant shop and a few laughs with the girls.

Now Mansfield has implied a Coupon Size policy......Your "Safe Coupons" must be the actual size that they are originally printed off at, taking out duplicates that have been blown up to improve the scanned barcode. A template is in place on each till to detect any enlarged coupons.

    Mansfield Oak Tree

From day one this was like entering the house of hell!!.....Nit picking Supervisors (Rottweillers I refer to them as) and the Golden Boy wannabe as mentioned in a previous post.. Random attituded checkout staff.....the younger ones mainly being sound but the middle-aged plus women probably disgruntled at the coupons because they couldnt operate a pc and printer themselvss, None the less through battling through had some good successes up there. One more thing to mention about Oak Tree is the 5 or 6 Customer Service Staff that all stand round the counter doing nothing, giggling all day and discussing anti ageing creams still thinking there 21.

Oak Tree now have the same policy in place as Mansfield with Coupon Size checks, they are also checking the issue numbers on Coupons against several photocopies they have kept in a big red book. Named coupons are also pulled out if you have more than 2 coupons with 2 different names. Not the most pleasant place to visit.

    Alfreton

Not been for a few months now, although was decent for a while. Checkout staff were all quite decent and the supervisors quite easy going. Have no recent real feedback on this store except you can only do 1 transaction with coupons per day.

    Top Valley

Seemed to be the last store of my 5 to really get the jist with coupons. Checkout staff forever calling the supervisor because they'd never heard of them or seen them, again the younger ones just scanning anything through and the older ones inspecting everyone. Supervisors straight out of the bronx, there no messing up there. Watch you like hawks and a whole gang of them come over if you seen using Coupons. Scary but rideable!

Only policy seems to be right now is just one transaction per day, which is fair enough. Just dont be put off by the heavies.

    Hucknall

The store with the 10 Coupon limit. Can get very busy at times and be stood queing for ages, but worth the wait im sure. Never any problems here, apart from the odd moan and groan from the oldies (usually upstairs on the dvd & cloths till). Checkout staff are mainly young ones.....and a few corkers at that. . Overall decent bunch that seem to have taken the most sensible step (10 coupons) in kerbing any coupon abuse. The Security Guards look like there more bothered about looking in the mirror or flexing there pecks at the young girls than wathcing how many times you go in.

Things are getting tighter and harder at all stores now, probably due to the number of people now abusing these coupons. There still some good shopping to be had if you use the right coupons!!

    Happy Daze Coupon Lovers xx

Hello and thank you to everyone who hleps out with advice, news etc
I am a longstanding T customer and find it useful to be able to use coupons when I don't buy the product so let's hope that does not change and that T are not going to change their policy too drastically.
I do not mind waiting when someone splits their shopping but was in the queue opposite someone who had one spend of £160+ and waited while someone else split their shopping into 6 and spent less than a pound on each shop. After that shopper had left the person who had waited complained about waiting so long as she would now be late back to work, so I would bet that is one policy that they will change - one set of coupons per shopper and not per shop. You can always go back in if you want to do multilpe shops.
If T do stop taking coupons for product not purchased I will go to Asda Sainsbury or Morrisons as they are all nearby with much nicer shops and more choice so they will lose my £60+ per week as I only shop there for their coupon policy plus at the other stores their CS etc are much more helpful and nicer if you have a problem as at my local T the CS are surly and can be quite rude if you return something under the T guarantee/refund policy, anyone would think it is coming out of their wages!!! I dread having to take anything back and have throw veggies away that have been 'off' when I get them home and open the packet or bread that is green and yes out of date when bought that day ( I always check dates now) rather than take them back and face the wrath of the CS - never encountered that at other store. I see the coupons as offsettings such problems.
So, yes I will happily shop elsewhere if I cannot use coupons as that is the only reason I use T and if a lot of couponers feel as I do then T will see their takings drop and may just have to rethink the policy yet again

I too can see my local mr t's stoping you splitting your shopping to within the next few weeks as i went to do my weekly shop with my sister last night, really late so not to hold anyone up and split our shopping into sets of three the cashier was so not happy and then the assistant manager came over and said she would let us do it this week but then she would have to speak to the manager about it yet it was him who said only two weeks ago to me and my sister that it was perfectly fine for us to this!!! assistant manager also said they had alot of probs with ppl copying the coupon net coupons so think it could only be a matter of time before they stop ppl useing them to
But if thats the case then it will be back to asda for me as it's closer!!!

All couponet coupons print at the same size.
Why on earth would anyone 'blow up their coupon size just to improve the scanned barcode'

This would be a very time consuming task, (we are talking couponnet coupons again here) meaning that the coupon would have to be scanned into a PC, so that the enlargement could be made!!!! I THINK WE ALL KNOW, THAT THIS TASK WOULD ONLY BE UNDERTAKEN BY SOMEONE WITH THE INTENTION OF DUPLICATING!

Anyone claiming that this is their reason for possessing enlarged coupons, needs to ask themself, who they think they are kidding!

Mr T is not stupid, he is not a charity, he is a business. Dishonest couponners who duplicate these coupons are thieves. Mr T cannot redeem duplicate coupons. Mr T will lose a lot of money. Mr T will say no more!

The sheer greed of certain individuals (small minority) will certainly stop this very generous policy. Do they not realize that they too will lose out when Mr T says no more?

This problem is not just in Mansfield as I have stood in a queue waiting to pay and witnessed these oversized coupons in the hands of customers also waiting to pay. OR SHOULD THAT BE STEAL  It makes me very, very angry.

Well I've said it before. If Tesco stop taking the coupons they will lose a lot of business. Already this year I have bought about 50% of my shopping elsewhere. Tesco aren't the cheapest!!!

Here is a 75p coupon on https://www.money-off-coupons.blogspot.com . It comes from couponnet but if you go direct to their site it is only 35p on here http://benecol.couponmicrosite.net it is 75p. Every little helps.

. If anyone has official proof that coupons can be used against petrol costs could you please post it on this thread?
I'll see if I can dig out the receipt and scan it for youangry-smiley-030.gif
If I want my integrity to be questioned:mad: I can go to almost any Tesco checkout in the country, with coupons, and deal with their ignorance on a face-to-face basis. I do not wish to have the same on a "friendly" forum when I have merely offered advice on a coupon transaction.icon13.gif
Veggiecar, for your information I was merely asking a civil and innocently-intentioned question and do not like being accused of questioning yours nor having my integrity undermined. As I said in my previous post, I had my coupons refused when I asked if they could be used against my petrol bill about a month ago and was merely enquiring if anyone had seen anything (officially/unofficially) to clarify this issue. My question was to seek clarity for myself on this issue from fellow forum members who often have much more experience of using coupons and some have access to very useful 'inside' information. I want to act in accordance with acceptable coupon protocols and it appears that my uncertainty about coupon use was perhaps misinterpreted. I am always courteous and polite in my posts and willing to offer help/advice when I can which I believe is indeed in accordance with the spirit of the MSE forums. I found your inference to ignorance judgemental and offensive.

I only have a printer that prints black and white so the coupons i print off actually look like photocopies even though they are not. Will I still be able to use these vouchers or not does anyone know?
    Thanks

I mentioned a while back on the thread that I had checked with a Customer Services supervisor at my local branch that black and white printed copies were acceptable. Although these are currently accepted at my local branch it may be worth ringing your local branch of Tesco and checking with them before you go in to use them. Take the name of the advisor as a precaution so that you can ask for them if you need to if you ever have any problems using them instore.
