  • I have been using coupons for many years just because it states im a NEWBIE to the site does not mean im new to this. Even Tesco staff split their shopping so does many people i know. I dont go everyday like some of you do i go about twice a week so how am i in the wrong and ruining it for anybody. This will be my last post because you all think you no it all when i have many friends that work at Tesco who also use the same coupons and they no the policies better than us. Well happy dictating to people and making the rules up.

Oops I pressed the thanks button by mistake. Nobody is having a go at you here. We are just trying to state the pitfalls and possible consequences. As for Tesco staff knowing the policy better than some of us - some do, some don't. There are staff working on Tesco's tills who have no idea. There are supervisors who have no idea. There are staff who know the rules inside out. You can't generalise.

As for Tesco staff asking for their shopping to be spilt into a couple of different shops. Some may. Some may not. It doesn't make it right. I remember one supervisor at my local Tesco's keeping dozens of 75% off coupons from Soap Powder and walking off with a Trolley full. That wasn't right either!!!

There is no need for you not to post on here, you are most welcome. But also listen to people. Many on here know the policies inside out. We share ideas but we are not know it alls. We are all here to help eachother.

  • I do split my shopping but not in a obvious way, and not to nessesarily use duplicate coupons. My nearest T's is 25mins away I go once every 10 days I buy all the non refrigerated stuff pop it in the boot then go back in upstairs to the cafe have a tea and sandwich feed the baby, then do my refrigerated shop some coupons are duplicates, (not photocopies PDF's) some are not, I don't see any difference to T's if I do a split shop every 10 days or a single shop every 5 they get the same coupons from me. I agree though if people are splitting their shop into several and just using several copies of all the PDF's then this could pose a problem, with T's over run with the same ones.
I always hand over a full mix 1x Sainsburys conditional spend, a few PDF, a few couponnet, and a few originals from newspapers, mags, and through the post.
I have actually been thinking the more good coupons I give T's (ie not out of date, photocopied, Daily Mail etc) the better, as I am diluting the percentage of bad ones.

Well a s/a gave me her copy of the policy so why dont you all get off your high horse and leave people to do as they please. After all we are all adults, and just because you dont do it doesnt make it wrong. And for those that say we are duplicating the coupons because we split our shopping should take a look at themselves because they use the same ones the week after. Why does it all come down to !!!!!yness its like workin with a bunch of women.
I am sure if you asked the checkout manager at CF Road, his version will be totally different. If he catches you doing i he will ban you from the store. Maybe you missed Pjesus post of his local stores, post #336, saying only one transaction per day. Least we will know you will be one of the ppl who gets these said stores, to stop taking moc all together and ruin it for ppl who play by the book.
  • i did read PJesus as you can see i commented on it, and i never said i split my shopping at CF road. i know that at CF road like everybody else i know and who work there, you can only do 1 at a time, take it to your car and then go back in you can for your self. i only split my shopping at oaktree tesco, where i saw this "scanned " copy of the policy which is real and states customers may split their shopping. this more convienient for me as i have 2 kids who deserve better like noted by stebiz, and shouldn't need to eat cheaper food because off rising prices. i only go once very rarely twice a week and only do 2 or 3 lots at a time. this saves me time as i am studying to give my children a better future as we all want to give for our kids. i don't go everyday and 6 at a time i do the equivelent of someone going once a day everyday. i just save on petrol and gives me more time to spend with the kids doing something with with the money i have saved from using coupons and studying. i as all parents want the best for my kids and believe they deserve the best after they didn't ask to be brought in to this world with the state of the economy i think we all should stop !!!!!ing and think about why we use coupons. to put food on the table and ensure our kids and yourself get a good meal. i don't like using coupons i feel cheap when people stare at me using them and stick their nose's up at you but at the end of the day this is the only way for the time being that i can give my kids what they deserve.

I totally understand were you are coming from. All I would say is try and keep your head down a bit. Don't use coupons that Tesco can't redeem. Don't use too many internet coupons. If you don't, the bottom line is your Tesco could change their coupon policy (it often seems to be at Managers discretion) and you could lose out big style. Just be careful. Hope you are enjoing the extra savings.

it wont be me because i know at least 5 people who split their shopping at oak tree and i always say at the till, "do you get many who split their shopping" and i always get the same reply "yes their are loads of people who do it in fact i even do it my self ". so next time you at oaktree ask for yourself.

I only use coupons that tesco can get their money back on, and the S/A's are very thourough with the couons checkin the date and so on, as i said only go once rarely twice a week, and all in their know who i am so if there ever was a problem with splitting my shop they would just say i can no longer do it. some them are very polite and will try and update you on coupons discreetly coz i feel cheap when i use them and i think it shows as i always apoligise to waiting customers and s/a and always offer a set of cupons if they have been patiently waitng as a good will gesture.

my post was in response to lovinthecoupons, unless you are the same person.

i dont need to ask, as i dont need to spilt my shopping up. i do a tescos shop once/twice a week and have enough moc to get my shopping down to a few £'s or p's each time.

i just wish ppl wouldnt take it the wrong way when others are just trying to be helpful and warn of what they shouldnt do, regardless of what the new policy version says. for the sake of saving few extra £'s, as when it stops there will be no saving at all.

You will see by my sig that I use coupons on a fairly regular basis, you will also see that I dont overdo it. I have used the book ones in the past, but after reading in these threads I decided to stop that. I gain what I can, and dont take it too hard if I,m refused. I never use photocopied coupons.

YES I am the one who knows better.
    Have fun kids.
