strawberryberry wrote: »Just tried to go through connection to print off coupons (thread 159) kindly puton by honey but internet explorer says cant find connection ? any one else had this problem ? How else can I get these multipage coupons.
I am new to this and only tried the mitchum ones from the boots thread - used 8 in tesco but only 1 per 'shop' just put things of over £1 in and went back round to another till.
Told my dad who in his 70s who goes past Ts every day and seemed quite keen to try this for himself - i didnt realise you could put in different vouchers for a shop but didnt have to buy the item.
So if he puts through say £2 of goods he can give them vouchers for 1.75 and only pay 25p ?
he doesnt mind going every day for small shops like this and i would like to save him money but dont want to give him duff informayion.
Thanks for any help on info and getting the vouchers
Tesco policy posted on here, say one of each coupon can be used per shop, without buying the product.
Tesco managers in store, say just one coupon in total per shop, without buying the product. So if he uses just one per shop, he should be fine. Any more, and he may be told he cannot use them.0 -

Not sure how this works though if not buying cat food as there is no amount off .
So if i put through say shampoo how do they know how much to take off ?
Or do you really have to buy cat food for these type of vouchers ?
newby so bit dim on these things.
Heskpesk was right, whiskas comes up as 62p, which is more than 50% off at most stores.
As a general rule, if the vouchers has a percentage of, ie 30% , 50% etc, it will just scan at a preset amount, as the cashier cannot be expected to start working it out. Therfore you do not need to buy the product.
If it says 'free', then it may be preset, as with the boosted smoothies which are £2.49. But some are not, and there is a chance that the till will ask the assistant to key in the amount, and he or she will check the till roll for the item, or ask you what it cost. So unless you have checked on here, to see how it scans, its best to buy the product if its free.0 -

Will this not mean all your coupons will have the same id number on them. My local store is already having couponnet coupons sent back from the clearing house unpaid as they have been duplicated.
The upshot of this is that Tesco could stop taking couponnet coupons altogether if they are not getting their money back.
Surely it is couponets problem if they are duplicated, not Tesco's. It says on the coupon that duplicates can be detected, but they can't by Tesco.
If this is to continue, maybe there needs to be a membership scheme of some sort, where your PERSONAL members number is stored on the coupons, so that you can be traced. Otherwise, the scheme is wide open to abuse, and those using the genuine ones, will be the losers if Tesco kicks couponnet into touch.0 -
Have tried using coupons printed in black ink only and have had them accepted in my local Tesco. I did check with customer services before I printed them that this would be acceptable. It makes things much easier and mine are now scanning! I think coupons are wonderful and am grateful to everyone for sharing information so generously. Thank you.0

I have used coupons for free items in my local Tescos and more often the not the cashier says "I think these are around £x.xx is that ok" , I just say yeah and let them knock off whatever they think, at the end of the day as long as an amount is coming off my shopping I am hardly going to say "I think you might be 10p out";)0 -
Thank you to all for your help on coupon queries and for putting the link on again to get the multi page ones.
Gave dad coupons last night but told him to hold fire on the 50% mitchum until I checked with you experts if they would be taken (He did get rather excited with these at first as he thought it was 50% off anything you bought and was going to stock up on whiskey ).
Anyway hes got a fistful of £1 mitchum ones to start off with - hope he doesnt get too confused !0 -
The only real 'Honest' use of this facility would be to edit the coupons and remove the 'banners' so that you could get several coupons on the same page like couponet used to do. Other than that it is a no no cos as already stated the coupons would all have the same serial number, if you say it didn't print it issues a new serial number so it is unique in that respect so that is a 'fair' fiddle. Every 'virtual' printer that I have tried has not worked as the software always says that the printer is unsupported.....maybe I've been over thinking it but I gave up and just accept the waste of paper......Do others reuse their paper and print two back to back (And upside down IYSWIM) and are T's funny with them? I always only put one per piece of paper but I would like to half the wastage if possible!
I do this and nothing has ever been said about it in store. I can't see why it should be a problem.

There is an easy way to check how much will be deducted at the till. Look at the barcode on your coupon. Ignore the very last digit, its the previous 3 digits that are important as they give you the coupon value.
ie, if your barcode ends in 0623 - the coupon will scan at 62p
Barcode ending 2506 will scan at £2.50
If the barcode is 0001, that means the amount has to be input manually at the till, usually for a free item, so it is usually better to just make the most of your freebie with these.

Boots are only refusing the green mitchum vouchers because a) the price was reduced in store to £1.65, and they did not want people having them for 15p each with the coupon, and b) the tills gave you £10 of free skincare vouchers if you bought 4, spending just 60p in the process.
As these offers have now both ended (they ended yesterday), Mitchum vouchers should be OK again in Boots.
But Tesco have always accepted them, it was just Boots, so he can still get £1.50 off at Tesco anyway.
For those who actaully want to buy mitchum, the deodorant spray is just £1.98 at Sainsbury, making them 48p with the voucher. Ive also heard they are on offer at superdrug, and end up free with the coupons.0
