you wusses ha. I always catch stationary spiders with a jar and slipa postcard or thick paper underneath then chuck it out the window or front door. spiders are sacred. don't kill em more will come or is that ants?
  • My OH says the air bubble isn't true, and they die a slow horrible death and will come back to haunt me, anyone out there know the truth?

I'm not sure, but a few years ago I found a spider on the inside of my shower curtain, so I blasted it with the shower and washed it down the drain. A few days later, another spider popped up my sink's plughole as I was cleaning my teeth!! You've never heard anyone scream so loud!
Not sure if it was the same spider, definitely wasn't getting close enough to compare, but I've never flushed a spider since.
Lead me not into temptation - I can find it perfectly well all by myself :D

Sounds crazy but go and pick some conkers and put them by your windows and doors - you won't get spiders coming in then.

Sorry to be thick - but how many? two or three or are we talking about a line of them along a windowsill?
Just want to make sure! :o

I have wonderful luck with spiders in cars... I'll discover them running around the visors or dash just as I'm driving in heavy traffic. YIKES!

  • Hi

Does anybody have a way to stop spiders?

I keep moving them on and dusting the cobwebs away but they re-appear a day or 2 later!

    Many thanks

Apparently they don't like citronella, so perhaps it might be worth dabbing/spraying a few drops of it around, see if it gets rid of them.

This year I have been putting conkers all around my lounge after reading about it on here and I haven't seen any of those huge, hairy spiders at all.

It might just be coincidence of course, but I usually get loads of spiders in the autumn so I am sticking with the conkers.

I just use a fluffy feather duster on a long pole, I twirl it around the spider till it is stuck on and gently put it outside.
I can't sleep without my window open at night so if there is something I could hang there to deter them coming in, it would help.
