Too many spiders

They look scary but they eat all the flies and annoying insects so although I wouldn't keep one as a pet, I'm still a little fond of them
I'm terrified of them, but I've developed a certain fondness of them as they help keep the mossie population as low as possible in our house. So long as they stay in their corner, don't move much, and eat mossies, I'll leave 'em be.
If I didn't get such bad reactions from mossie bites though, I'm not sure I'd be so sympathetic! lol
I remember, years ago, there was a great big spider in my parents bedroom. My Dad caught it, took it downstairs and out into the front garden and released it into the bushes by the pathway. Every night, that spider found it's way back into their bedroom! :rotfl:Mum lost patience with it after the 4th or 5th time and ordered it's execution.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
No...I'm not Dalek - Daily Mail has two spider related articles today one on a scaredy cat and one on why we're scaredy cats.
Caution may contain pictures of spiders!
Check the comments:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Ginger, that poor man.
But this:
He added that arachnophobics can deal with their fears by trying to sympathise with the insects and learn about them.
and this
He said one of the ways to learn to appreciate them is to eat them - and he will be cooking a mealworm stir fry for visitors to the festival.

I was born and raised in London.
The local news bulletins and the Evening Standard paper occasionally ran stories about treatment for arachnophobia at the Invertebrates House at London Zoo.
There was inevitably a picture/some footage of a terrified looking reporter and a tarantula somewhere about their person.
I think it's called 'exposure therapy' or 'confronting the fear' or some such. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
spiders don't worry me - not as keen on their webs though. especially if I don't see it and it touches my hair
my nanna used to say they only like clean houses. don't know how true that is but it makes me feel happier.
I sometimes get other invaders in my house which require my husband to immediately drop what he's doing to remove them and stop me running out of the house in terror screaming blue murder

I was just laying in bed, I looked up and saw a spider on the wall above me, so I goes over with a glass to catch and remove it, and it drops off the wall into my bed. *cries*
Now I can't sleep in the bed because the spider is in/near it somewhere and I can't find it anymore.
I feel so violated when spiders go on or near my bed. *shudders*#
Serves me right for trying to capture it alive rather than just squashing it, didn't wanna ruin my white wall with a spider stain...0 -
Sorry another spider murderer here, I was just sitting on the floor whilst reading this thread and had to move
.
They meet their maker via the vacuum cleaner in this house. I have three cats which will play with them but won't eat , kill or maim."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Once when just getting readied for going out, I heard shrieks of doom from down the stairs, Ms Sonny, and friends were in absolute peril, an incy wincy littkle spider was creeping around the lounge. Armed was my mate, with vacuum cleaner, trying to scoop the poor thing up, but the spider was too sure footed for their like.
Suddenly, I appeared, with foam readied shaving face, towel around and jest. On scoop and he was mightily caught in my palm. Waltzed I did to the back door and the yard, to set the creature free.
Clasped in hand I returned, sneaking an opening for the scared. They squealed again and again. I went upstairs and finished my shave, though it was a close one.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!
