Thanks for the welcome homes, pleased to be back for a bit longer this time to be honest, I do miss being home, creature comforts, internet, you lot etc. Seriously, I missed the chats, was lost without my lists, even today I didn't do a list and have left stuff in the caravan I needed, bother!
poohbear, I did mention that to DP that I thought you would be close by, in fact we did so much driving around the whole area we probably drove past your house or something silly :rotfl: we did more miles after we got there than on the way there/back! Ostrich World we did on Wednesday, boys loved it, DS2 wanted to go on the tractor ride again and again, sheeps milk icecream wasn't very nice tho and loads of wasps! I've never seen so many wasps as we did in the Lakes. If I was brave enough I'd move there, but then it's work for DP etc etc (I remembered the bother you have when DP and DSs are looking, even if I seen vacancies advertised it's how long would it last etc) , when we retire maybe, then DP can take photos to his hearts content (ones on Facebook are just a small few!)One day I might be more organised...........

I know but lives little injustices make me happy.. My gran says God doesn't pay debts in money..
I had an ex-business partner who used to say that, at one stage I wanted to chuck a brick through his window with that on a note wrapped around it (I didn't, just got bitter instead  )Don't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli

Near Ullswater in the Lake District, it's more of a full working farm than just Ostriches (which I'd be bored of after a while, DP disliked them after he went to take a picture and one tried to peck him :rotfl: ) http://www.ostrich-world.com/ the Zebroid looks nothing like that photo now, but really bizarre, very pretty, but likes to bite :eek:One day I might be more organised...........

ooh thanks lil-me, I would love a holiday in the lake district, I've never been. I am really into British hols and was thinking of going there - maybe to the centre parcs that is near there (?) for a week and then to stay in the area in other accommodation for a week. Would you recommend it?Gala bingo wins £70!!! mystery shopping earnings: £0

Im still up, the new lot that moved in at 1am on Sunday and having a housewarming.
I think Ill get up early and get the sewing machine going-discovered earlier our lounge wall is shared with them by a bedroom:)
I only got the chance to read the thread through properly just now-thanks to all the virtual mums-or sisters-I sometimes wonder if I'd get on better if she were here still.
As for the dress, Ive already chosen it,and the fabric. Im planning to make it myself.
Tooti, thank you for the draught excluder instructions - I have a friend who has a wonky front door and she's always talking about getting one.
Hippy thank you for the kind words-I even did a fly through the lounge just now.
Pigpen Did I miss you getting guests-your sleeping on a sofabed? Ive been doing that a bit the last few days-we have a stock standard metal frame one with a futon mattress and I love it.
Jo your mention of eastenders made me think of a giggle to give you all-although DF advised me not to tell you coz you would kick me off the board...When the EE intro started I was watching the screen and got all curious and asked him "whats that?", he reminded me it was EE and I responded, "I know that but Ive never paid attention to the intro-whats the picture of?" when he sighed I realised (been spending a bit of time with my A-Z and we live "in that picture", so I said "ooohhh, but what does that map have to do with east enders?" :doh:Please remember that Ive only been here a year-and yes we did have geography:(0 -
We drove past a sign saying Centre Parcs, not that far from where we were staying. We stayed at http://www.parkfootullswater.co.uk/ which was a nice site, we stayed in our own touring caravan so I don't know what the other accomodation is like. To be honest I think we'll probably stick with British holidays for a while yet, especially now we have the caravan, so much to see and do in our country that I haven't seen or done yet. I've never taken the boys abroad.
Aira Force waterfall was beautiful, for those without facebook, quite a walk to the top (inc past the bridge then back down and across it, which I wasn't keen on walking across as it was old and full of people) but very well worth it.
One day I might be more organised...........
