kaz I know he is committed to me, but I'm quite traditional, and personally I would rather be married before I have any children just in case anything ever happened to either of us. (I don't have anything against people who choose not to marry, so please don't anyone read that into it.) Plus I want to wear the nice dress ;) We plan to marry in the Bahamas on a Sandals package as it is the only one where you can actually marry on the beach, rather than in a gazebo, and also you can swim with dolphins in the wild in the Bahamas, which is something I've always wanted to do.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Evening everyone.

Just managed the dailies today. Went to see mum then to do my meeting and greeting. Im working tomorrow then off till Tuesday. It will give me a chance to catch up.

Have my uniform in the washer just waiting for it to finish.

polkadot New phone came on this morning. Later had problem as DD and I on same network. She gets free calls to my network but they charged her and said I wasnt on the same one. So she rang them and they refunded her money. I rang them as they had told her it was my sim card at fault. Just a glitch they say as changing from PAYG to contract takes time.

    Triker Enjoy your weekend.

pigpen Hope you are ok and big hugs for you.

    nicki How is the househunting?

Big hugs to everyone and I hope you all have a good BH weekend whatever you are doing.

polkadot, kazmeister and sexymouse you all have such interesting stories of love and engagements/marriage (sexymouse).

I am very boringly almost at my silver wedding.

We got engaged after going out together for three weeks and married after four months, we didn't live together even though I had my own place as my mother said she wouldn't pay for a wedding if we did!

sexymouse I wanted to go somewhere warm for our silver wedding as we were married in February and honeymooned in Scotland. I say wanted as DD is getting married in the Spring and it looks like it is going to cost a fair bit. I think a wedding on the beach will be so very special.

All those years ago DH rang me to ask me out after I had been enquiring after him. He didn't realise I was looking for a lodger, as he worked about 100 metres from my flat, and asked me out.

Triker I read your post and thought how great it is not to have to buy school uniform and then DS1 came in and said that he needs smart clothes for teaching practice and will I go shopping with him.

DK I got the book you recommended and have read a tiny bit. Thank you very much I am sure it is going to help me. I have to go to Ormskirk tomorrow to look for accomodation for DS1 and I have told him he must take me to the sea as it is very near there. I was brought up a lot of the time at sea, then lived near it a lot of my life before we came here. Being a sea lover I straight away could feel the movement of the sea and its relevance to lifes' changes.

pigpen Thanks for everything. Huge hugs for you :grouphug: I hope you are feeling a bit better now DH has gone away. I have lost count of the times we have parted on such terms like you and DH. I usually find a day of cleaning purges me of my frustrations with DH. Especially with a bit of organising the kids.

Oops I can smell dinner burning.

Can I ask a quick question to those of you who are experienced at carbooting?

I'm going to be selling a lot of clothes at the carboot on BH Monday eg skirts, tops, a dress, bras (a couple of brand new with tags that I ordered and had grown by the time they arrived), a pair of expensive Roberto Vianni sandals (worn once for a wedding), and some jumpers.

What sort of prices should I charge for these items?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Sexymouse xx

Thanks for the birthday wishes, just been reading them :) really do appreciate them, even if I am finding it difficult to accept that I am no longer in my 20s, weird feeling. Birthday was Thursday, we went for a cruise on the lake which was nice (even if I am a little shaky when it comes to boats, I just made sure I didn't eat before we got on) then for a meal in a lovely pub, food was mostly local and lovely! Then evening entertainment on site was a 70s/80s band, they must have known we were coming. Also this week we went up to Aira Force, what a walk but worth it as it was beautiful and to Eden Ostrich World which the boys loved, I will keep uploading photos onto Facebook as I upload them all. Weather was ok, rained on a night but the days were mainly sunny and dry, better than it has been at home, in fact when we got back I'd left windows on latches and had to put the heating on, brrr!

Anyway, I've got a pile of laundry a mile high (3 big bags) because the boys spent a lot of time in the streams/lakes! Only problem with this much laundry is the weather here is poop! Caravans back up storage until a week tomorrow so 8 days to get the washing done and pack up again :rotfl: just local ish next time on the seasonal site we've booked for sept/oct so I can take the boys up on weekends while DP is at work.

House looks like a bit of a bomb site, not enough time at home to do much and we've sort of dumped everything today. I've got 4 pairs of muddy walking boots to clean aswell. DPs promised to help this week sorting the house and garden (which looks much like the fields we were near as it's never been nice enough when we've been home to do anything with it) See if he keeps to his promise.

I will try to catch up with you all later....

pigpen big hugs for you xx
well done on the GCSE results to all those who passed, inc our relatives of members and the 'mature' students :D
nicki hope the house hunting is going ok
SM depends how desperate you are to get rid, designer items tend to sell for slightly more with the sandals look on Ebay for a rough idea of price then don't take less than you could get on there, try looking in a charity shops for an idea then price slightly less IMO. I think many like bargains so offers like 3 for x amount etc tends to clear items better.
One day I might be more organised...........

sexymouse - Karma Chamelon, Culture Club? Went to see them! Not because I was a great fan, more into Duran Duran and Dire Straits at the time, but because they were appearing somewhere very local and very cheap!

Another 'virtual mother' here rather than a 'virtual sister'!:D

polkadot - a lovely romantic story. You can most certainly have an MSE Flylady wedding - can't see any of us managing to resist the temptation of that! Rach got married last year, so is very up to date!

pigpen - hugs. I'd be round like a flash if I lived nearer, although I don't do sick either - suggest a bucket of disinfectant and very hot water, and pour over. Preferably with your eyes closed.

dusty - 'a trug of tomatoes'?? I'm so jealous. I've picked about eight little cherry tomatoes from the greenhouse as they are ripening very slowly, and I have lost all the outdoor ones to blight, again.

mo4 and valli - I had to collect my photos from Boots today - and came home with a few other bits as well! Details on Boots Grabbit.:D

Okay, I did the kids' bedlinen, and ran the vacuum around all of upstairs.
After coffee, I whisked over to look at some bathroom places. One was closed, one was supply only, but incredibly helpful, and in the third, I met a primary school playground mum I knew, so that may be the one! I'll ring for them to measure and quote after the weekend.

Tomorrow I shall do the weekly shopping in the morning and then after lunch I'm going over to see Mum. I bought her some of the Lavender body wash, body lotion and handcream in Boots, as I think she'll enjoy them and I'll get some flowers tomorrow. I'm feeling a bit guilty that I haven't been over more often, but it isn't all that easy to leave the children on their own. Anyway, I'm not going to beat myself up about that, just doing the best I can manage!

Forgot to say that I can hardly remember 30, so it must be very young. Belated birthday wishes Lil_me

    Evening ladies

Lil_me welcome home and thirty is still young!
Pooh I hope you get to the sea tomorrow and fill your soul with the smell
Serena blight is a nightmare, it wiped out my lot last year when I had a lottie so keeping my fingers crossed and my eyes peeled at home. I would really recommend this variety of toms they are especially for outside and look more like potato plants than toms - I can save you some see if you'd like.

OH just in from work so will catch up with him before the BB eviction and then bed for me

Dusty I am just looking up directions for tomorrrow. It will be an early start.

I have read a bit more and hope I can find a shell on the beach to put on my desk.

I love the smell of the sea (and crude oil, strangely).
