My HHC over ran a bit but I managed to -
    Load dishwasher
Hang a load of washing out and put the next load in
    S & S the d/s toilet
    Took stuff upstairs
Put parcels on table ready to load into the car
Swept and mopped the kitchen floor .............and that was it I think.

Right that will have to do for now. Gotta go and buy DS1 a birthday cake. He's 16 today. And yes what a day to get his GCSE results. Sounds as though he got good enough grades to got o college though.

Congratulations to all others celebrating their results and 'chin ups' it's not the end of the world to those that didn't do so well. I left school with zero exams and I ain't done so bad.;)

I did notice that johanne is leaving. Sorry to see you go. Right must dash. Hope to catch up with you all tonight. Good luck with your party pigpen.

  • Good afternoon flyladies,

This is my first post of the day as I have spent the morning taking my mum to the supermarket. It is the one thing that she insists on doing herself but she needs transporting!

My BIL normally takes her but for some reason he will not use her disabled badge to park close to the store and insists on parking miles away. !!!!!!?

She has leukaemia (sp?) and you would think that he would be a bit more thoughtful:confused: but no he will not be put out of his routine. I think he has OCD:eek:

Well done Jo! Painting is a job that I find very tiring, especially as you then have to return everything to its proper place afterwards.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Ok got the hang of this now – read the thread at work , make a list of replies and post when I get home.

Thanx for comments about the lovely soxy – although sox is a pretty stupid name for now she no longer has white feet!

Hollyh good luck with the shopping and painting

Greenbee and all you other sleepy heads hope its nothing serious

Polkadot hugs for you. It is hard when you are fighting a losing battle sometimes but you will win in the end

MOAM good luck for today – ooops took 2 days to post and a bit late now

Sexymouse have you tried those yoghurty drink things to settle your stomach, my OH uses them all the time (after HIS cooking not mine!)

MO477 Wow 3 baskets of ironing by 930 – you deserve a medal (or one of pigpens dog bikkies)

Boddy If you are thinking about one, they are great little dogs who love company aand home comforts J she’s like a live cuddly toy as I wake up and she’s usually beside me snuggled up on the bed and loves to sit on my lap

Michelle I remember moving our little one onto the formula for hungry babes to settle her at night. We knew she must be hungry when she woke as she had slept through the night since 8 days old

Polkadot – oops for the telly. OH is like that about his computer screen

Jo1972 welcome. Our houses don’t run smoothly and aren’t clean – that’s why we’re on here in an effort to try and make them that way, but in the mean time we give each other some laughs and some support and encouragement and realise that we’ra all in the same kinda boat really

GnB glad Lo loved her first day at school. Good news about the rabbit

Tia good news for your friend, fingers crossed that it progresses well

Hi Johanne – hope you and little one ok sorry to see you leaving permanently

Pigpen – Sounds like both your daughters are getting the support they need. My DS has gone in for his results today

SSL – no Soxy turned grey when she lost her puppy coat but she’s still gorgeous

MO477 I’m the same with drinking – don’t do when the kids are about just in case, that’s why it only takes 1 glass to get my fingers tiddly on a Sunday

MOAM Sorry it wasn’t good news

Vanilla glad Bo was ok, bet it was a shock for DD

MO477 Have you tried gloves in a bottle – the recommendation is from someone who had excema for 35 years until she used it

Nicki that’s awful about the rent and understand how difficult it is to get anywhere decent. Round here rental properties are going by the next day. That looks like it would be a lovely home for you and your DD

No flying yesterday as I really was too tired and only managed to update finances on computer. Havent started any sorting or packing for holiday on Saturday yet

    On a plus note tho

DS has been in for his results and I’m really pleased for him
    English (his worst subject) B
    English Literature B
    History A
    Chemistry A
    Geography (Pilot) D
    Biology B
    Physics B
    Maths B
    Religious Studies B
Plus he got an A in his PE GCSE last year so well done laddo :A plus he also got
Level2 BTEC in Sport with Distinction and
OCR Level 2 ICT with Merit

Big well done to every other child who has achieved something and a big well done to the proud parents for supporting them :T :T :A

Jo1972 hope DD is ok and cheers up

Pigpen hope party organising is going ok – don’t envy you

Right bit more updating finances for me then Pizza for kids tea. OH out of action to do anything tonight as been for the snip and I have a sore arm from the B12 injection which I might have to have one every other day for a fortnight  . Will then sorting stuff to pack I think otherwise I will be up all night Friday as at work tomorrow

Ps do any of you teachers know anything about the Geography Pilot GCSE. DS school did it, he was predicted a B and got a D and EVERYONE else in his group got as least 2 grades lower than predicted. He got a B on the exam last year which was then added to the coursework which his teachers graded an A, so how come came in at a D. Thanx in advance

    Hi everyone

Haven't read all the thread yet but it's nice to see there are lots of mums who can "sleep easy" tonight after the results.

I just got in now from said playdate.
KazM if thats the battle you are referring to in your post I think just walking away might win me a trophy:( Seriously considering it at the mo). Was asked about the smell in the toilet and if I had an idea. Referred to limescale and how little uglies set up home in it (Yuck), the response was if thats the case then how do you drink tap water. Tried to explaing the sitting concept but was told "my relatives last best friends reative 5 times removed is a some kind of expert and so I know thats just positively not true"-I gave up trying to give any kind of opinion for the rest of the visit.
It takes alot out of me but DS gets on very well with her LO and loves her to bits. DH mentioned the other day that my methods of communicating are sometimes difficult for people to understand and Im beginning to wonder if I'm the problem:eek: If thats not what you were referring to-it was nice to rant a bit so thank you :wall:Ive invested so much I dont want to just give up.

Im going to do the pc area now since I didnt yesterday and have done nothing today. Will read the thread through tonight and let you all knows how goes my printer installation.

    Sorry to hear that Johanne.

Soappie what draws you to NLP? I htink there are loads of trainers in it, but I did hear of that chap you mentioned. Can you get a taster before you commit to check him out?

It's not me Sinderalla, it's my DD - she's interested in a course he's running. Have you heard if he's good or not?
