Luckey so and so RE your kids growing out of their asthma!!!!
May I ask what age they were when they grew outta it!!

We moved here in 1998 when DS was 5 and DD 2 - they grew out of it shortly after.

    Right I'm back :D

DD got her results, not bad in all considering she lost it completely at the beginning of last year but bucked up this year. Although they have boogered up the Drama results as she was predicted a B and got an F  apparently nobody in the school got a C or above

This is a huge blow to her as she wanted to do an A level in Drama and now it's all in the air, we won't know what she's going to do now until they've appealed. She's very upset and crying in her room at the moment :(

I obviously stormed down the school (well stormed up to the door and found my composure when I walked through the door, don't want to be one of 'those mothers' ;)) and the Head of 6th form set my mind at rest, all I've got to do now is calm her down :undecided

Other than that, I've been to the dump and got rid of all the carp that's been holding my kitchen up for the last few years :rotfl: and will probably have enough to fill another car-load-ful later this arvo. Right now, I'm sorting DD1 out and having a coffee and will paint my other half ;) :rotfl: after lunch :)

Well done to all those who got the results they wanted, commiserations to those who didnt. And a big dose of humility to that girl Serena!

Sorry to hear you wont be back Johanne, hope you and little Sarah are well. You are welcome back any time.

Will someone please kick me off here and into the bathroom...lost all motivation today.

ps, g&b - completely forgot to wish your DD a happy first day! I'm so glad that she enjoyed it. It's a family story frequently repeated that my OH got home before his mum on his very first day in the infants...

ps forgot to say that DD has one friend with a very high opinion of herself, who was very boastful about her mock results and her predicted grades. She was looking very red eyed today, and although I asked her how she did, she didn't answer, but DD just took her results sheet and looked, and told me after that she had got a few B's, mostly C's and D's when she was expecting all A* and A. I'm not gloating, but I do hope she learns just a tiny bit of humility...

I am so glad it isn't just me that wants to stand and gloat!!! PMSL.. we are so mean.. I am just disappointed he hasn't done his best.. but hey ho.. life moves on and it will sort.. either with resits or whatever.. but there won't be a doctor in the house lol...

pigpen - well, you say that, but I remember my GP telling me that you didn't need to be that clever to be a doctor. I'd really like a decent electrician or plumber, but not much chance of that it seems. DS2 is quite keen on banking or something financial, and I'nm shamelessly encouraging him!

ps Or you could be the doctor in your house??

Now I'm torn - do I ask you to say 'Well done!' to DS1 or do I say 'Your mother told you so!!'

    Well done anyway!

    How's the party preparation going?

Party prep is going ok.. still not cleaned the kitchen but it will have to wait until the food is finished.

I said I am glad you passed them.. the history you'll have to resit to do the A-level but they'll let you do that while starting A-level so its ok.. but we are disappointed because we know you could do better!
