    Hi all :hello:

DH and I are back from New Zealand - got back earlier this afternoon and our smalls are currently being boiled alive in the WM.

I'll report back a little more tomorrow when I'm a bit more "with it". I did have a second wind, but now I just feel ready to drop.

I hope that everyone is ok. Many apologies, but I haven't read today's thread at all - nor any for the past 3 weeks.

(((hugs))) to all those that need them.

    I'm off to bed!

Have been out all day to the Hop Farm and to Monster Truck Mania with DS. He's decided he would like to go to the Grand Prix next year, so I guess I'll have to start saving for it :D .

Big hugs to all who need one. Haven't read yesterday's thread but big hugs SMOKEY and KAAT-LADY.

WELCOME BACK THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN AWAY.

Big bird - I am still waiting for my tomatoes to ripen too! I just can't wait!! Other than that I have some nice green tomato chutney recipes I can share lol

Oo, yes please on the recipe :D One of the plants fell over yesterday and, whilst I think it was helped along by a fat and clumsy cat mis-timing a jump at the fence, it didn't help that it was weighed down with green toms, so could do with picking some :o

Anniestar, had a look at your other thread and cannot believe that insensitive little madam! She may not have agreed with how you worded your post, but it is perfectly obvious that you are very upset about Phoebe so there was just no need for her response. Some people need stringing up (like the previous owners of our cat Floyd, who moved house and just left him behind - but don't get me started on what I'll do to them if I ever find out who they are!!) Our 2 are our little boys and always will be. Even when they try to kill my tomato plants :rotfl: At least you know you can rely on the lovely people on this thread to be supportive at this difficult time. Huge ((((hugs))) for you.

Haribo, I'll be taking a six-pinter of milk out of the freezer tomorrow so there'll be room for some of the toms :D

I've just had a brill biz idea, no-one in Gloucestershire is doing it at the mo and people that do do it usually run a flooring shop, so the sideline is run in the back of a shop/a back room. But I can do it at home :D

    Good evening everyone,

:hello: Taplady, mrs mix and Shez

Im afraid i havnt read the threads for nearly a week now, so :grouphug: and :hello: to everyone - i hope i havnt missed anything important!!!

Well, we had a lovely time in London - Shez is one of the nicest people you could meet (and her children were so good as well!!), and i really must thank Bargain Rzl for her help with our hotel - it was in a great position for the tube and train!!!
The actual hotel was ok, clean, but small - and as we were right at the top, i kept losing the internet connection which was really frustrating. The continental breakfast consisted of tubs of cornflakes or toast, with hard boiled eggs already on the table!!!
We spent most of our time in Harrods - my goodness that shop is big - but we had a great time spending my gift card, although i was disappointed i couldnt get DS some school trousers - i wouldve thought even for a designer store they would do plain black trousers, but no (unless you wanted silky Armani ones, £165 a pair!!! can really see my DS in those playing football and sliding around in the mud!!!)
We also went to the Sceince Museum (with Shez) and of course, had to take DS to the Arsenal stadium - it was all closed so although we couldnt see inside, it was nice for him to see where it was and have some photos taken, with no one else around!!
Only had one dodgy moment whilst in London, and that was on the way home - we were on the tube one stop from Paddington, when they told us all to get off as the train was 'defective' - so it was a mad dash to the train station on foot (with all our bags, and we had loads!!!)and some helpful person sent us the long way round to the train station - i thought we wernt going to make it in time, and was a bit worried we would be mugged as all the bags were Harrods ones!!!

Anyway, we are home now and we have spent some lovely lazy days doing not a lot and watching the Olympics (been getting up early, but not as early as LTS!)!! I finally managed to catch up on the competitions today and the washing is upstraight!! Ive done some cleaning, but plan to do a big clean tomorrow.

Right, ive drivelled on long enough, hope everyone has a lovely evening,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Back again, well after not knowing what to do today, we havent stopped. OH managed to mow the lawns, although why he did the front I dont know,it didnt really need it. I started tidying up my T/shirts and ended up emptying the whole wardrobe, well at least the charity shop will benefit from my labours today ;)
Lunch was braised beef in onion gravy, little pots,a little yorkie and loads of veg, very satisfying as its gone quite cool now. Just had sandwiches while watching a film.
DS2 and DIL came earlier and asked us if we wanted to go and see MAMA MIA on wednesday night....O do I.....YES, YES, YES I am all excited now:T :j :T

I have speed read back but  sorry:o

    I only had 1 glass of white....well maybe.....2 and I feel a bit squiffy:rotfl:

better go see you all tomoz

    Evening Everyone

Hope you have all had a good weekend.

Went out yesterday, nowhere in particular just mooching round the shops, got some material and today I have made one of those handbag organisers, got the pattern from a link on the celebrations thread. I'm very pleased with it, hopefully if my bag is organised the rest of my life will follow suit :rotfl:

Tired mum - I am the same as you re jobhunting, I keep posting on here that I'm going for an interview, the rest must be fed up with it now :D I have been for loads of interviews, some were only for temp jobs and I've not been successful either, so if you want a moan or rant about jobhunting, give me a pm.

Catowen - glad you had a great time in London, I saw the pic of you all at the science musem that Shez put on facebook.

Anniestar, I saw those posts a few mins ago. I was going to say something cos I was  but then saw SnowyOwl's post - specially the last bit - and I was :rotfl:

Oops, hope I didn't go too over the top. For anybody that missed it my language was rather to the point and quite errr....colourful, shall we say? It's nothing I wouldn't say to a certain person's face if she had been that rude and insensitive within my earshot. She deserved to be shot down. I notice that the thread in question has been removed - I think someone said they were going to report it - which is a shame as it showed that person up for the unpleasant piece of work they are. AnnieStar - I saw your reply to her. Good for you, I am glad that you retaliated. You have been through so much for so long now and nobody has the right to be scornful. I just hope she saw your post...

Catowen...I'm so incredibly nosey, but I'd love to know what you bought. It doesn't have to be a fully complete list, but I am hoping you treated yourself to a few luxury items like really posh perfume or swanky shoes or something. Harrods is great - there is so much stuffed in there - not that I've ever bought anything more than a packet of sweeties or whatever as the emphasis really is on luxury.

I went to a Cemetery Sunday today, except I didn't actually go because I was so late it was too embarrassing to go in. I ended up just hanging about until it was over then having a chat with various relatives. Joy of joys it was quite mild and sunny today, though the rain is back already. It rained for about ten solid hours here yesterday, I thought it would literally never stop. What a shame it didn't do that when Pink-winged was on her holidays otherwise her garden would have flourished.

Dazi & Tired Mum - I'm not settled on the job situation either. My job is temporary, and it's going to "go permanent" soon. It will only be open to people already employed by the organisation while more junior positions will be open to the public. I'm not going to bother applying as I spend about £50 a week on petrol. My job hunt therefore continues but for either more money or closer to home, though both would be nice.

Stefejb, did you swallow a dictionary dear???

VickyA, welcome back from New Zealand...glad you had a fantastic time, it must have been utterly amazing. Post some piccies on facebook, pleeeeeease!!

Big Brother's starting in a few minutes. I'm an addict, so excuse me while I go and get my square eyes on.

    Bye

Ooh, I must have a look to see if I can find that - I have a fabric organiser I bought off Ebay a couple of years or so ago (in fact the lady originally posted on mse, but think her link was removed as it was seen as advertising, but she wasn't intentionally...). Anyway, it is starting to come apart, as it gets well used (I like handbags so am often swapping..... :o ) so if I can make one that would be great. May be able to do some as Xmas pressies too!!

And Dazi, of course we don't get fed up with you talking about your jobhunting - we're all here to keep chivvying you along & feeling positive that something will come along for you. And do rude things on Facebook in the meantime  :p

Catowen, welcome back, sounds like you had a great time & saw your pic from the Science Museum too.
Welcome home VickyA as well, hope the jetlag wears off quickly.
PippaS - bit squiffy?! Think you should have a lay-down, lol...
SnowyOwl, what's a Cemetery SUnday....????

Still busy organising shipping out of the freecycle stuff, found a few more bits to put on there tomorrow. I WILL be organised by the time I go back to Uni in 7 weeks (aargh!!!!).

Night all, sleep well & take care.

Ohhh, i bought loads, but was quite sensible with it!! I treated myself to some clinique products, DKNY be delicious perfume and some new undies (i was desperate, my old Peacocks stuff was losing their underwires and a bit 'thready'if you know what i mean) i bought 5 bras and 5 pairs of matching knickers and it came to £272!!!! It was lovely to just hand the card over and not worry about paying for it myself!! We did all gasp when we saw the price tho:eek:
I also bought myself a laptop bag, digital camera and digital photo frame, so well chuffed with those. Then i bought DD a new Nintendo DS as she had dropped hers and broken it, DS got an LA Galexy David Beckham shirt, some new football boots and a dvd (they both had £100 to spend on what they wanted) so considering it was Harrods, DS did really well!! I bought all of us new trainers, and DS also got school shoes (didnt have any in black in DDs size, which was a pain). DS also had an early birthday pressie of the new Arsenal away shirt, and an Arsenal light weight coat - i will be wrapping them up, even tho he is wearing them now :rotfl: . I also bought some games (DS and Wii), dvds and books that ive put away for Christmas, so made a bit of a dent in my Christmas shopping already:T Oh, and a game for the PSP i won last year, which DS is getting for his birthday, so i only have to buy a card for him now, everything else he is getting is technically free!! Of course, had to go to the food hall, and i bought some fudge and turkish delight, and then with 5 minutes before we had to be out of there to get the tube, i had £30 still to spend, so we went running around to see what we could afford and ended up with a bottle of champagne (will be perfect for Christmas!) and 2 bars of chocolate for the children (£1.50 each, and they were tiny!). Had wanted to buy some lovely looking cup cakes they had the first day we were there, but they didnt get anymore in (i asked) - so will teach me not to buy something when i see it!
We also ate in Harrods - not in the expensive restaurant, although i wouldve loved to, but there wasnt anything on the menu that the children would eat - so it was the Harrods diner, where its burgers/fish and chips - expensive for us (not used to London prices - even your McDonalds are more expensive than down here!!) but it was free with my card! The middle day we even treated ourselves to the Harrods Chocolate Bar - a cup of hot choc for me, ice cream for DS and strawberries and chocolate sauce for DD, and it came to £21!! not something we could/would do with our own money!!!

So i think i made my £2000 go really far - saw some lovely Jimmy Choo shoes, but couldnt justify spending £650 on something i wouoldnt really get much use out of, and having the chance to get things we needed was far more important. But we had a wonderful time, just wish i could win another so we could do it again, ive never been able to go shopping like that before, where i could just pick things up and not worry about how much it would cost, could i afford it etc, ah well, maybe one day!!!
