PoppyOscar & Hester, hope both your friends are a bit calmer...
Just a quick question (as not sure where else on the forums to ask & I'm sure someone here will know
). If I want to send quite a heavy parcel (say 7 or 8kgs) via Parcelforce, I looked at their website & it says about booking for them to collect it (from me) online, but do you need to be an account customer for that or is it for one-offs? Or do I have to go to the Post Office to send it? Or can anyone recommend any other courier companies that are cheap/efficient/good???

Put a dab of toothpaste on them!!!!!!! Honestly - it's brilliant. Stops the itching & dries them up very quickly (I learned that trick when I lived in Nigeria as a teenager). Also very moneysaving & OS

((((Smokey))))
JackieO - hope you have a lovely time when you go to meet your cousin.
I came back from Edinburgh on Friday having had a great 5 days seeing DS and DS and going to some festival events. DS was brilliant in his play and we went twice. I was able to concentrate more the 2nd time instead of peering at him to see he was fine (he's at uni in Glasgow and I live down in Suffolk so don't see him that often
). I was a really proud mum. Their play (Dear Theo) got a 4* review so they are all excited.
Had a few meals out with both of them which was lovely. It's so nice to get your 'kids' together for a meal when they have flown the coop. DD's boyfriend also invited us round to his flat for a meal. What a star eh? It was fab - pasta with salmon in a creamy garlic sauce.
Ian Rankin came in to a tiny bookshop I was in to speak to the owner and sign a book - just came in off the street. I peered round a corner to make sure it was 'him' when the owner just called him Ian. Looks exactly like his cover photo on his books unlike some who put on photos from years before. He had a grumpy looking ??13/14 year old with him so if it was his son, it's good to know that he has to deal with hormonal teenagers as well.
. My DSS(14) is going through the phase of mumbling and querying everything we ask.
Also passed Jeanette Winterson in the street - I love her writing.
Felt all cultural for the few days but it's back to normal now
Big (((hugs))) to those who need them.

Hello all.
Feel a bit bad that I haven't been around much recently.
The end of August and September are going to be expensive months for me, which could be interesting just before I go back to uni.
Been watching the Olympics quite a bit, and yesterday did a lot of baking: muffins, cookies, flapjacks.
Take care
