Have anyone ever tried to call The Link to ask for cheque back progress? I sent mine documents 3 weeks ago and still haven’t received a cheque back. I just want to make sure that they have received the document and are processing it before the deadline pass. I tried 01858 414 717 and waited for long but nobody picked up the phone. Anyone know their other contact numbers to chequeback team? How long does it normally take to get a cheque back once we sent off the claim? No reliance should be placed on the above.0

they've normally been pretty quick with me (approx 3 weeks). I've rang the number on the claim form to check progress and they've always been helpful so just hang on a little longer0

BTW - Do you reckon it's worth calling the Link and asking them if you can send in your 12th month bill once your contract finishes or do you think they'll make us wait another 6 months before being able to claim cashback?0

Just got my second cashback - sent in the form promptly via recorded delivery and checked that it was received a couple of days later. Called after 28 days, having received nothing and was told by the processing company that they hold the form for two weeks, then print the cheque and then deliver cheque "within three weeks" of printing it. (The Link have outsourced the cashback processing, it seems, and the company that you call is not actually The Link ...)
Seems like a bit of a scam by the processing company to collect the cash from The Link, keep it in their accounts for a few weeks to skim the interest, and only then pass it on.
Anyway, I eventually received my cheque a couple of days ago, and it's currently in process of clearing into my savings account. Just gotta wait till next May now, and I can get my last £105.
And, since my 12 month contract comes to an end soon, I guess I'd better have a look around and see if any other fools will give me 100% line rental refund
(oh, and to the person who queried if they would be able to send their 12th month bill in now rather than wait till May, the answer is 'no chance!' The viability of the offer depends people forgetting to claim. Making you wait six months is all part of that. Just set a reminder on Outlook and / or on your phone, and wait it out!)For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...0 -
A quick reminder to all those that took out this deal. In the next few days if you dont wish to carry on your contract its time to give the thirty days notice. I for one will be doing that!0

To all those who are now nearing the end of their 12 month contract. Has anyone found any other good deals?
Don't know where to start to look for another contract.
I'm going to be lost without my phone.0 -
Someone mentioned elsewhere that they are offering 12months on T&T 200 retention deal (100mins & 100sms a month) for £5 for the entire year by crediting your account £235 at the start of the new contract so long as you don't ask for a new handset.0

I ordered this phone on behalf of my partner on the 18th of November, and his contract started that same day. He has, though, apparently cancelled already and arranged to go payg (then signed up for the 100mins and SMS a month). He believes this to come into affect on the 18th of this month. He was, it seems, confused by my cancellation of my e2save offer due to end tomorrow. How can he have done this, or could he simply have put in notice already for a cut-off in November? Why would they have let him cancel early? And, most importantly, can we still get the cashback? He has all the details, but it seems people are suggesting October bill send in would be ok for the last one at 18months?
Thanks in advance for any advice.0 -
Purplemoon - if he has asked for a mac code to transfer his number to a PAYG, then the mac code lasts for up to 30 days and then expires. If he has already asked his new company (PAYG) to use the mac, then they will have given him the date for the change over - usually 5 days. If he has done the former then I would suggest that you make sure he doesn't use it. If it is the latter, then you may well be stuffed unless you can rescind it someway. To infinity and beyond!0
