 to Strumps, Calvin and MrsP.
Its blisteringly hot today - my washing is drying nicely and I have been using the free gym again today (leafletting for my local parliamentary candidate). Visited one of the leafletters homes today for a quick slurp of cold applejuice. Free gym again tomorrow and I am going to a gig - my mate is matchmaking (she thinks I would take a shine to an ambo or paramedic - I avoid anything to do with medicine like the plague:rotfl:)
Hope you have a fab weekend oop North Strumps - eating cake and generally chilling out...just think you can load up your apple pie and make cinnamon buns now that Keef has slung his hook:rotfl:
Ciao

Hello All - Strumpet, Calvin, Horace and Mr. Ted Wood, hope you all had a good weekend. Its been lovely and hot down here. I've done so badly with the NSDs this month. But, I'm going to draw a line under it for tomorrow is a brand new month and I'm going to aim for 15 NSDs.
Mrs. P and Figaro (my teddy's name - although I think he's actually a dog. He's been recovered several times and had new eyes and noses over the years).Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hi to all, especially our new band of teddies.
Mrs P: You are so right about May - I'm writing it off completely - nasty month for me this year! And well done on the 7lbs!!!
Horace: Glad you are getting lots of exercise!
June:
Todays is June 1st and I am starting the NSD challenge with a vengeance (although today is £25 grocery day so we won't be having an NSD today!)
My exams are done so that's good.
I am newly single and have already started to make contact with all the good friends I have sort of neglected over the past few months. I went to see Angels and Demons with a couple of such friends last night which was great.
I had a super pampering weekend of waxing and toning and massage with all manner of expensive unctions over the weekend and also visited my sister and had tea with my nephew. This was great - kids are superb at reminding you of what is important.
This week, I am going to rearrange the entire house to try and repersonalise it a little. Then it won't feel like I'm living in our house, but rather in mine.
That's all for now. The sun is shining and I am moving onwards and upwards and it feels great.

Hi to Strumps, Calvin, MrsP & Figaro
Sounds like you had a fab weekend Strumps:cool: What was the film like? I read the book which was great although I admit that I didnt like the Da Vinci Code:rolleyes: I am feeling quite jealous of all the expensive unctions:D
I attended the free gym again on Saturday but managed to do myself a mischief (why can't people have safe pathways to their houses:mad:) - I have no idea what I did but have managed to injure myself to the point that it is extremely uncomfortable for me to put my heel on the floor without experiencing intense pain, I have noticed that the back of my heel looks bruised tooHad a free lunch though, met some folks that had driven up from London and Surrey to help deliver leaflets because they are after the city seats (these are would be MPs).
Had a call today from the charity that I have helped out and they want me to organise a charity cricket match:cool: So I have a meeting to go to on Wednesday night and then on Thursday I am off to this country house event (crafty me is taking a chum so that she can drive me there because I dont feel safe driving at the mo:rotfl:).
We didnt go to the gig on Saturday night as her daughter got sunstroke so she had to stay home with her so I watched Britains Got Talent instead:D0 -
Hi Horace,
Angels and Demons was a fantastic book and the film is good also, but does deviate slightly from the book towards then end, presumably for dramatic effect. Anyway, it's so much better than Da Vinci Code, but then so was the book. Dan Brown's other books (Digital Fortress and Deception Point) were poor, I thought.
Anyway, the film is worth going to see just for the views of Rome and the wonderful churches therein. One of the problems I see with the film is that when I think of Robert Langdon, I don't see Tom Hanks - Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, yes but not Tom Hanks!!! He's too....nice?!?!
Anyway, you should go and see it - it is a good film! Ewan McGregor makes a very sexy priest!

Tom Hanks was on the Jonathan Woss programme the other week talking about the film - one of the places used for filming wasnt a church at all but the local police station because in Rome they have this habit of making buildings look the same when they are in a square.
Have just had my appointment come through for the refraction clinic - I have to wait until 30 July:eek::mad: which means that in the meantime I have to virtually give up driving altogether which is damned inconvenient because I have to take my car in for service on 12 June (thank god, I don't have to drive too far). my driving is being limited to areas I know well and where I don't have to drive too far. I can't have my eyes tested at a normal opticians because of my eye condition otherwise I would get them done elsewhere.
Its a gorgeous day today and as there are no kids around and him that should have a bolt through his neck has gone out I am quite safe to sit in the garden without being disturbed:D0 -
I wish I was sitting in my backyard with a long cool drink and a good book instead of doing the month end procedures at work!!!

Hello All plus assorted teddies,
Strumpet - I'm at work too and after a week off there is lots to catch up on. Glad you are feeling better (although I am sure there will be bad times). But you are certainly doing the right things now and heading in the right direction.
I agree about Angels and Demons - the film was good but not as good as the book.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hello!
I've been lurking on your diary for a while and thought I'd say sorry to hear about your OH. Keep your chin up though!
I have a teddy story which may make you smile (?) -
My OH doesn't like my teddy - its Roland Rat (yes...i know!) He banished him from the bed to the shed behind my back - I *actually* cried when he told me he was in a cardboard box in the shed! What about the rats/mice/spiders/other nasty creepy things that might eat him OH??? In the end he felt guilty so he rescued him at 3.45am!
I know I know I should get out more - but I have had him since I was a child. My OH is so blooming mean!!!!!!! And he should know better - he has a Roland Rat teddy too (ahh...we are meant to be!)
Anyway...I'll go back into lurks ville now I have shared that one. Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!!DFW Nerd #11520
