I spoke to the priest at our church yesterday who said that he was really sorry we had split and that I was always welcome at St George's. He told me that OH had moved to London and that he was OK. I asked Fr Timothy to pass on my messages to OH as he wasn't taking my calls.
Anyway, OH did phone me last night and we had a good chat and I feel tonnes better even though we are still apart. I'm now not sure I want him back even if he wants to come back. That has been a very hard issue to deal with.
But I am stronger than I give myself credit for - I have beaten cancer twice and I'm still here. At the end of the day:
You do not fail when you fall down - you fail when you don't get back up again!
I am getting back up again!
Thanks for your prayers and support. you can only ever fall as far as your friends let you fall and you all caught me the minute I faltered. Thanks!

If you want to be really spooked, here's what Jonathan Cainer wrote for Capricorns this week:
Week Ahead (23 May 2009 - 29 May 2009)
The earth has its rhythms, tides and seasons. So too, does the sky. Sooner or later, the planets move on and we face changed circumstances. If we have learned from what we have been through, we may benefit more from the new situation. But, frankly, even if we have made dreadful errors, we still get a chance to gain when the sky blows the whistle for change.
Now one game is ending and another is starting. The grand conjunction, this week, tells us that all old bets are off and new dreams and hopes are being helped to come to fruition. Whether you feel you won or lost your last battle, you're in good shape to win the next one.
Roman roads were amazingly straight. How odd that way back then, the paths across Britain and Europe were more direct than now! But no attitude that's so relentlessly determined can ever be maintained. We are not here on this earth to be efficient. We are here for experience and some valuable experiences simply can't be had when things are too well organised! There's been a lot of craziness in your life lately. You are about to discover what it has all been leading up to, and why you should really be so glad of it all. The triple conjunction heralds the start of a very different and much happier phase of your life.
Tuesday 26th May 2009 (the first day of my being single)
Nothing stays the same for ever. That's good news and it's bad news. Except that really, it's hardly news! It is the one thing we can be sure of. Change is the only constant. Now I know that we could get clever and argue that if everything changes, the state of constant change must also change and therefore, there must be times when things do not change!
But then you have had times like that lately. You are more than ready for change. And that change is coming - indeed it is already here. If there is anything you want to move on from, now is your chance. you have not got a problem - more an incredible opportunity.
I'm sure you'll agree that that's more than a little apt considering the circumstances.

Glad to see that you are a little better today and that you managed to speak to OH - moving to London seems rather drastic and has obviously been planned for a very long time but he has chosen his path and you are destined for better things:D Onwards and upwards as they say and Strumps you are an extremely tough cookie and you're a survivor and so you will continue to be:j I am honoured to have you as my friend:D
When you feel able you need to advertise a room for rent and provide us with some entertainment aka Badger Lady over on the housing thread as she shares the trials and tribulations of renting rooms in her house with everybody and in fact we even get a say on who she instals as her next tenant:eek: Maybe you should advertise the room on weekdays only and leave the weekends free for you to do your thing
Look on the brightside too - ex has decorated your house and bought some new furniture for it thus saving you the expense of doing it all yourself, plus you won't need to hide your chocs anymore:D (trust me to say it how it is - its what I think when I look at my stuff - its a case of thanks for the shelves in the airing cupboard, pantry and shed, thanks for my microwave and my electric blanket, thanks too for my expensive ski jacket, thanks for my telly and for the antique trolley on which it stands and when I think of him I think that he is the one that lost out by being unreliable drunk:rotfl:)
If you're feeling down and want cheering up you know where I am:D
BTW what did Jonathan Cainer have to say about Sagittarians?0 -
I can concentrate more fully on saving up to buy all the things I need to make the house mine again.

A freezer is next on list - how are you getting on saving your £2 coins - I managed to get another one today:j0

Oh Strumpet - I am so sorry to hear your news. However, I do think it was a pretty horrid thing for OH to do. It sounds like it was certainly not a spur of the moment thing.
Regarding lodgers - I am on the books of the teacher training section of the university. I have trainee teachers and they only stop Monday- Friday which is great as you have your weekends free. They also don't stop over the school holidays either! Obviously that means less money than a full time lodger, but it does give you plenty of freedom at the weekends and I don't think you get so fed up with them doing it that way - I just have to provide an evening meal and they eat with us (but I'm cooking in the evening anyway so one extra mouth is no problem).
I stayed with Dad over the BH weekend and he very kindly gave me some money which has wiped out my OD which had been gaining pace the last couple of months! No more OD in future. I am now concentrating on paying back my CCs. I haven't done so well on the diet front. My weigh day (when I input it into the computer) is Sunday, but as I was at Dad's without computer I haven't been able to do so. I will do it this Sunday! Fingers crossed that I have stayed the same and not put anything on.
I managed 2 NSDs over the BH weekend.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Well done Mrs P and thanks for your words. I am actually quite upbeat today and looking forward to being single again. I'm missing the companionship and still not used to being in the house on my own but I'm off up to the Lakes this weekend to see my folks who will set me straight.
I changed my facebook status to "single" mainly to inform people without me having to get upset by telling them and I have had such a wealth of love and support sent back that I am quite overwhelmed.
Anyway - now I am single again, I can:
Go back to only spending £25 a week on groceries!
Never have to buy Soya Milk ever again (yeughh!!!)
Go peal ringing whenever I want.
Go away at weekends.
Take up my friend's offer of an all expenses paid holiday in Malaysia, whilst he works out there (just the flights to pay for!).
Be untidy
I'm sure there's many more things I can do too....NIL ILLEGITIMUS CARBORUNDUM!Nov Grocery Challenge: £0.00 / £150.00

Soya milk...bleurgghh..it sounds disgusting..Strumps you are better off without him (what kind of man drinks that?).
You dont need to hide your chocolate
You can leave a tide mark in the bath if you want
You will have more wardrobe space
You can do as you please and see who you want when you want
You can veg in front of the telly if you want too.
You can slap a load of gunk on your face and sit and watch tv whilst it sets and no-one can laugh or take the mick.:j
If you want a companion who doesnt argue and agrees with everything that you say - get a teddy bear, they're not judgemental, will never answer back won't drink soya milk and are just great:D
Haven't seen you on facebook I must admit..I am there everyday:rolleyes:
If you're passing Brum you can come in for a coffee and maybe a fondant fancy:D0 -
Hi Strumpet - glad you are looking on the bright side.
You can watch what you want on TV
Listen to what you want on the radio
Spend as much time on the computer as you want to
I agree with Horace about the teddy bear (I've got a teddy bear). I tell him all my problems!
If you're passing Cornwall you can come in for a cream tea.:DDebt free and Keeping on Track0
