Hope you managed to get home ok?
Weather here is awful - I was supposed to go to the dentist but cancelled nor did I bother going to the Spring Fair at the NEC either:rolleyes: Can't be bothered going there in this weather because it would mean that I would have to put my waterproof stuff into the cloakroom and I am too tight to pay:rotfl:
Its snowing hard here and has been since 3pm - the first bout started last night:rolleyes:0 -
Its just started to snow here now (been sunshine all day), and it looks like its sticking. DS is absolutely hysterical with excitement.:rotfl:Debt free and Keeping on Track0

MrsP do you still have snow and has DS wet himself with excitement?
I have seen the forecast for tomorrow - 30cm expected:eek: What's worse I have to go out into town tomorrow too.:eek:0 -
Horace - DS almost wet himself, not quite:D
Had the day off work yesterday because of the snow as did DS so he spent the day throwing snowballs. I caught up on housework:mad:Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Too much snow here today and more expected:rolleyes:
Strumps? How's things at work? how is OH? and more importantly have you escaped the snow?0 -
We have no snow here at all, although I think more is forecast tonight but think we will escape it. I heard things were bad in the midlands.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Hi All,
We still have snow that fell on Sunday night which has now become sheet ice. I expect Torvill & Dean to be round any minute to take advantage. Still having trouble getting the car off the yard every morning. There is a bit of the yard where the snow has melted and gone so if you can get the car onto that bit, then it can grip and you have no trouble. Was really peed off last night - OH and I were going out for dinner and next door's visitors had parked across the bit of yard where the snow and ice had gone. My car could not maintain grip on the icy strip that was left so we were late for our reservation. The visitors came out of next door and left whilst we were struggling and once their cars had gone, we were off the yard in seconds. I heard one of them say to her husband "Oh look, they're really struggling to get any grip". I thought "Yes love, cos you're parked on the clear bit you dozy cow!". I was cross! It's supposed to be private parking.
Work is still struggling cash wise. We need sales and they are not being forthcoming. OH says I should start looking for another job. It feels like I'm being disloyal though. I'll ride it for a bit and see. He might be right though. The directors and I are having a meeting with the bank next week to discuss options.
I am seriously skint. really need to curb the spending for a month or too. Living with OH has increased my spending as it's harder to be thrifty.
Hope you're all doing OK in spite of the snow!

Hi Strumpet.
Its the old saying "when you become a couple you find out that the penny bun now costs tuppence" Its worse when there's kids, we have to times everything by three.
How annoying with your parking I do sympathise. When we lived in London we were right opposite a school and had to park in the street, between 8.30 and 9.15 am and 2.00 - 3.30pm the Mums used to double and triple park and you literally could not leave the house. Why they got there so early I don't know and most of them lived just around the corner.:D
We now have a house with a drive big enough for two cars and it is absolute bliss.:jDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Snow is bad here - it snowed again this morning, another 2cm. It is so bad that with the ice hidden under the snow, I have taken to taking one of my walking poles with me when I go out. My car hasn't moved since Saturday - the carpark is quite icy and I noticed that we had a bit of a thaw this afternoon because a lot of snow has disappeared off the private road compared to when I went out this morning. We are due another heavy dumping on Sunday and Monday.
I had to see my solicitor today - blagged a free appointment then craftily negotiated her fee down from £195 an hour to £95 an hour:j - she is sorting out my contracts for my business.
Felt like a right Dilbert when I was out today - there is hardly any snow in Birmingham City Centre and there was me dressed in snow boots, ski jacket, fleecy balaclava come neckwarmer, ski mittens and this ruddy walking pole:eek: Still I did my mystery shops and treated myself to a few necessary make up bits whilst I was in Selfridges. I did a lunch one and a makeup one - now the first make up stall that I went to the girls there were ruddy ignorant and were more interested in themselves than customers so I have submitted a report anyway and said that I was unable to buy anything there because of the staff! I did go to another stall but the chap there was rushed off his feet (he had cheekbones to die for - he was gorgeous, pity he was gay:rolleyes: ), so I have asked if I can go back and mystery shop him on Monday - I will have something to look forward to after the dentist then plus I will get a free makeover:j
Oh and I met my ex boyfriend on the bus again on Wednesday - he slipped me his phone number and asked me to call him, I sent him a text and he has said that he still wants to see me - hopefully to chat over old times, I don't think I could cope with anything else (I was dumped because I didnt want kids - I was 20 for god's sake and we had been going out since I was 17 - well I might have wanted them with him but he set up with one of my best mates instead:mad: ), still I don't regret not having any - I just borrow everyone elses:rotfl: Anyway, I have kept my gorgeous looks and he has turned into his dad:eek:
Strumps - start looking for another job - it is not being disloyal it is protecting number 1 and number 1 is you:D No. 2 is OH and No. 10 is work.0 -
Morning Strumpet - hope you had a good weekend and hope you have a better week this week - workwise, snow wise and MSE wise.
I agree with Horace, start looking for another job. It will only become a "problem" if you are actually offered the job. There is no harm in sending in applications and no harm in going for an interview - it will keep your hand in if nothing else.
Horace - hope the snow is not too bad - although I did hear you were due for some more in the Midlands. (I'm a brummie too - but left there when I was 9 - people can still hear the accent) I would love to do mystery shops but don't think there is any call for them as I'm in such a rural area - 25 miles to our nearest "big" town and compared to Brum its a village.:rolleyes:Debt free and Keeping on Track0
