Strumps - have a fantastic holiday - I would love to hear all about Lundy as its one of the places I would like to visit. I hope I'm not too late with this seasickness tip - try nibbling on some root ginger - or crystallised ginger - it really helps.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

I'm back and I survived the dreaded see trips to and from Lundy too! I went inside the boat and got as low down as I could and lay down on the seats and slept the journey away. With the boat sailing with the tides on both trips, we shaved 30 minutes off the journey times which helped too. I am now back at work, relaxed and calm and ready to make a difference and hopefully this will help me to get back my zest for it all. I 'm feeling very positive. Lundy is a magical place and I always feel like this when I come back.
Now I need to run my mind to money matters. I simply have to get my finances under control as they have drifted somewhat of late. I have no desperate financial headaches until Christmas so there's a good 3 months of saving to be done fairly painlessly, starting now. More on this later!!!
Can only post a lunchtimes now so will not be around as much - BT still to come and fix my broadband.
Hope all is well with you all
Strumps

Hi Strumpet and welcome back. So glad you enjoyed your trip.
How did you do diet wise? I'm still struggling like mad as you can see from my siggy - its weigh day tomorrow.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Welcome back Strumps - I am glad you had a chilled out holiday - Lundy is a bit bleak though with no much there except birds, birds and yet more birds:eek:
Give BT a kick up the proverbials - say that if they dont fix your broadband you will go somewhere else.
Not much to report here - I am now mobile again, I have had a few spends at a trade show (an umbrella and the most gorgeous lamp imaginable - I am in lurve with it:D). I was very good because I bought a cheap umbrella and didnt spend £50 on the one I liked or even £120 on the one I adored, the lamp cost me £55 and retails at £200:eek: I went shopping on Thursday too - this time to do a couple of mystery shops and I ducked into Debenhams clutching £30 of vouchers (from consumerpulse) and £50 of capital bond vouchers that I had been given - I spent all the debenhams vouchers and broke into one of the capital bonds vouchers. I bought a new trenchcoat reduced from £34 to £24.50 and a lovely zip up cardigan with a collar (navy blue, quite chic) for £20 reduced from £25. I didnt mind as the vouchers didnt cost me anything:cool:
I am feeling a bit thinner too - it must be all the walking around a trade show for two days:D I have another 2 day show to go to a week on tuesday.
I got back on the road on Monday thanks to a councillor friend who gave me a jump start.:D0 -
Hi all,
SW weigh in tonight. I hope I have at least maintained after the indulgences of my holiday and last weekend. Bizarrely, though, even though I may not have lost weight, I am definitely thinner! Will post tomorrow and let you know how I get on!
Still done nothing about the phone. MUST DO THIS!!!
Finances looking good at the moment - big savings made on groceries etc. Hopefully be able to pay of CC for good when I get paid on 25th Sept, and then with lodger's rent, I should be able to finally start saving up to get the bath fixed and put a little aside for a holiday I am planning in Feb! Not sure where yet but it's gonna be somewhere hot!
Work is a lot better of late - my telling off seems to be abting finally. This must be the only company where a telling off lasts 4 weeks!!!
Strumps
PS Mrs P - hope you're losing weight too!!!

Hello Strumps - do you want me to sort out BT for you? Mind if you get me on the case you probably won't have a telephone line at all:eek:
My eye is feeling a lot better although I did manage to scratch the cornea the other day but now its ok. I have been tidying up today (well the office at least) ready for my visitor tomorrow, I have also done a ton of washing up (I hate having a tiny sink and tiny draining board). I will do more of the living room later tonight - I can feel a good hoovering session coming on, round about the time the music starts:rotfl: I emptied my shredder too and am now wondering if lots of cross cut paper bits makes nice rabbit or hamster bedding?
A telling off shouldnt last 4 weeks - are your bosses menopausal women?
Oh I also need to ring the Parish Office in Kings Norton to ask about bellringing and the like:D
Good luck for your weigh in tonight:D0 -
Hi strumpet - good luck for your weigh in. DH and I weighed together on Saturday morning (very romantic - not). We're having a little competition but also going to support each other so I'm really hopeful that I can now make some progress.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Oh calamities of calamities!!! I put on 3lb in the fortnight I was on holiday. Oh but I did ejoy it though, so I'm not too disheartened. Will have that off by next week. Going back to basics and re-reading the literature to make sure I'm fired up to do well.
Went to the dentist last week and had a really good check up. Now I'm sat hear with raging toothache since he went rummaging about with his utensils. So I'll see if it subsides and then probably have to go back and have a wisdom tooth out, which he has said will have to be done in hospital under sedation and all of the hassle that goes with that - days off, friend to bring you back from the hospital cos you're spaced out, sore mouth, bleeding gums etc etc. Nice!!!
Lodger is fed up at the moment cos his ex wife is playing stupid games - anonymous calls and texts, threatening letters of mal-intent. What a witch!
Ringing a peal tonight at Heywood which I am looking forward to. Should be a good opportunity to forget myself for three whole hours!!!
Then tomorrow and Friday I have both evenings off so I'm just going to veg out and do nothing.
Hope you lot are all OK!
Love Strumps

Hi Strumps - I really don't think your weight gain is too bad - you were on holiday. You have done so well - just make sure you get back inthe swing of it straight away!
Bad news about the teeth - don't talk to me about teeth.:eek:Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
