Canal Street is one scary place - I know I went there once:eek: I used to know this odd chap (he was odd, trust me), he claimed he wasnt gay but it stood out a mile (I thought so), we went out on a few dates and then he showed me his collection of frocks and I ran a mile (I got the feeling that he didn't quite know what he was:rolleyes:), he also had a drink problem and it wasnt my idea of fun putting him in the recovery position either and watching over him as he just couldnt handle his drink:rolleyes:
Can you send your hunky gym instructor my way please strumps as I need to lose about 2 stone in weight:mad::eek:
I don't know if you have played Bejeweled Blitz on FB recently? You can get 50% off Bejeweled Blitz 2 which is what I have got. You can play endless games, puzzles, they also have one called classic which is against the clock which seems to last longer than the one on FB. Its got nice colourful wormholes to go down too:D
Good luck with the weigh in tonight.0 -
Hi guys.
Another 2lb off this week taking me to 10lb altogether in 5 weeks. People are starting to notice and it's great! It really has filled me with so much confidence to go out and get myself noticed again after 8 years of not needing to bother. I can't begin to tell you what a difference this is making to my overall wellbeing.
My consultant has just told me that she has got e regional manager's position with Slimming World and has suggested that I should look into becoming a consultant as they are looking for more men to take on these roles to encourage more men to slim, and also, she says that I would be good at it. I am going to attend a seminar to get the ins and outs. It would involve 10-15 hours a week but would be quite lucrative although I would have to shell out £1000 for the franchise. I feel quite positive about this and think I would enjoy it and be good at it. Possibly, it may lead to taking on more groups and giving up my full time job with which I am bored and unhappy. This would not happen for a couple of years I imagine.
I know you'll give me your opinions so let's have them guys!NIL ILLEGITIMUS CARBORUNDUM!Nov Grocery Challenge: £0.00 / £150.00

Hi Strumps,
Well done on the weight loss, you are doing so well, and you feel so much better when you can see the weight drop off. I put 2lbs on today after losing 5lbs over the last couple of weeks. I knew I had put a bit on as I have been to a long wedding weekend and my girlfriend and her daughter were up last weekend, so I had a bit to drink aswell. Hopefully this week I can do better.
As for the slimming world opportunity, it sounds very good.
Good luck

Strumpet - well done on the weight loss.
I think that you should go with the SW consultant and give it a go (even though you have to pay up withe £1000). You never know what it could lead to. I always say to myself that if I want to do something I will give it a go (even if it goes wrong)- I couldn't bear to have to say to myself in 5, 10 or whatever years time "I wonder what would have happened if I had done so and so?"
You sound to me like a lovely, sympathetic person who really enjoys mixing with all kinds of people - a true person person. I am also sure that your consultant wouldn't have advised you to go about this if she didn't think you would make a success of it.
Would it be worth trawling around the internet a bit to find out exactly if it would be worth it financially?
At the end of the day if you are enjoying yourself and breaking even then maybe that is all that matters in the end.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
MF - sorry you put a bit of weight on, but at least you had a reason for it. I've not done at all well this week (had a bit of a set-back at the dentist and its led to quite a bit of comfort eating).Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Never mind about the 2lb on MF - there are sometimes when you can't avoid it and weddings are one of these times. I went to a 60th at the beginning of the month and ate lots of cakes. I think the only thing that saved me from putting on was the 2 hours of running around with the nieces and nephews which wore me out and burn off the cakes!!!
Put it behind you and start afresh.
Mrs P - sorry you had a bad experience at the dentist. I'm not keen either and have to make myself go. Hope you're feeling better!

Well done on the weightloss Strumps - you will have to let me in on your secret.
I would study that franchise really hard before you leap from the frying pan into the fire:eek: I don't doubt that you will be good at it as you are a lovely guy (shucks, why do all the nice dishy ones have to be gay:rolleyes:).
Well I am off to have some lunch before I tackle this horrid form from the council - they dont understand working tax credits and therefore are stopping my benefits if I dont supply them with the details yet again:mad:0 -
No secret Horace - just sticking to the Slimming World plan.
And I will study the franchise very carefully. First I have to go to a seminar where they tell you all the ins and outs - or a s my consultant calls it: Nitty, gritty and sh*tty!!!
Then I'll know if it's worth doing or not.
I'm having a crap day - been on hold to BT for 25 minutes now - getting cross!!!NIL ILLEGITIMUS CARBORUNDUM!Nov Grocery Challenge: £0.00 / £150.00

No - remarkably, they sorted out the issues I had very efficiently. It seemed we had been paying for a broadband line that we did not require so I cancelled it. It took ages because there were 100 email addresses associated with it which all had to be cancelled.
Sister goes into hospital for her caesarian today so I'll let you know the outcome later on.
