Hello everyone . Anniestar asked me to write this for us both .

KAAT We were so sorry to hear about Archie - he was a very handsome cat and , if he does meet up with Phoebe as several people have suggested , they`d be a lovely couple . All our love to you .

Our farewell to Phoebe was as good as it could have been . We were out in the garden before the sun came up and the air was full of the smell of lavender and mint . Phoebe is next to the herbs and there`s a sprawling patch of marjoram right next to her so there`ll always be a waft of this when we go by . The day was really quiet and we could hear the bubbles popping in the Cava .Then the sun came up and began to touch the leaves of the plants on the west side of the garden , more and more colours brightening the day . We held the glasses up to the sun and it looked like the most beautiful thing you could ever think of drinking . I don`t know how long we stood by Phoebe`s side but we just talked and talked about her . The white stones looked like I hoped they would and various cats came by to see what we we were up to , some of them walking across the grave which was quite a good feeling as if Phoebe was till part of things.

Later on I planted more lavender by her side and added a few geums to the border . Next year , when it`s the right season , I`ll add some of the Phoebe plants some of you kindly suggested.

To be honest , I know all the grown-up stuff about time healing but we`re really struggling at the moment because we`re becoming more and more aware of how much that little cat meant to us . I had a real skrike this afternoon when I was giving out a treat of chicken to everyone and went upstairs to the bedroom only to realise when I got there that Phoebe wasn`t there .The really tough thing is that there isn`t a thing we can do now for her and we`ve just got to wait for things to heal.

Livingston ( Ann`s avatar) has been very loving of late - I really think he`s trying to help us (which would be amazing as he usually acts like a cross between Bertie Woooster and Errol Flynn).

Thanks to everyone for their kindness . We won`t write about Phoebe again - I don`t want to turn it into a morbid epic.

Ann says she`ll be on in a bit to do the daily drivel . I`m off now and I wish all happiness . Please take care of yourselves and those you love .
Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Well, about 2 minutes after I last posted Tesco's turned up half an hour early!! There were a few things missing though, and eventually the lure became too much and I drove to the store. Managed to get all the bits I wanted plus a few whoopsies.

Anniestar and DH - I can only echo what everyone else on here is saying (((HUGS)))

Hi all. Thanks for the warm welcome :) Just checking in again before I head off to veg in front of the TV. Didn't manage to muster up the enthusiasm to tackle the ironing, so that will have to wait til tomorrow. Also need to make Twinks tomorrow as I have a friend coming over and she has requested more of the lovely hobnobs I gave her a little while ago :D Thanks Twink - your recipe makes even beginner like me look like a domestic goddess!!!

's DH - God, the word "skrike" takes me back!!! Right back home to the north west. Had to explain its meaning to OH (Devon born and bred) so that is another northern word he has learned since he met me :D (he can now slip "mither" into a conversation like he's known it all his life :rotfl:)

Hope you're feeling better soon Jo, and that your doctor wakes up and does something to help. I had no idea it was possible for grown-ups to get whooping cough, scary stuff.

Hugs to anyone who needs/wants one :)

  • Evening Guys!

    Thanks for all the hugs:D

Today has been a strange one and the solicitor was here for 3hrs as Mum and Dad wanted to change the Will because of my sister's new BF. He will not be able to financially benefit at all if anything was to happen to them within the next x amount of years. I am pleased with their decisions and changes.

Anyway, I am tired bt just wanted say hello.

    Night

    Good evening!

Been a busy day today, tidied house and put on dw, bm and wm, then went off to get last bits of uniform for the girls. Went into Comet and got the freezer I wanted. Then after trailing round M&S and other assorted shops took the troops to TGI Fridays for a late lunch, much appreciated by all of us. Then it was off to Ikea for the kilner jars so I can make blackberry jam - well I will when the weather picks up for long enough for us to pick some more! Also got some fleeces for the girls beds and a couple of snuggly throws for the sofas, much appreciated tonight. Then it was Mr T's to get ice cream to make sundaes for the girls puddings - they were too full when we were in TGIs lol!

Was worn out by the time I got home, quick bacon and eggs for ds, loaded up new freezer and now plonked down with a glass of wine, and thank heavens for ready meals - hm cottage pie doing its thing in the microwave now!

Will try to catch up whilst I munch and drink, hope you've all have good days xx
