O/S Daily thread for Saturday 16th August.

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for sat 16th aug. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

  • Morning all - hope this finds you all in good spirits and good health..

Hi LearningtoSave! Thank you for starting the thread today. I am just watching the swimming too and really enjoyed watching us win Gold in the cycling yesterday!

Pippa, yes it's been hard but I am trying to share my wealth around as best I can. That 36p can help a lot of lives..:rotfl:

Churchmouse - wave to me when you get here, I live near Exeter/Torbay! Have a great holiday hon!

Kaat-lady and Annie and Mark - Still thinking of you all with love and hugs

Sillyboy - take it more slowly this morning and don't rush the whole getting up process..;) :D

Poppy - how is Leo? Treacle just stole half my cheese sandwich when I was foolish enough to leave the room for a drink. She was asleep on the desk when I left, and then when I came back, the bread had been pulled apart and she was licking the grated cheese off my sandwich! (Sorry if that puts anyone off their breakfast - you get used to your animals doing yukky things and don't realise there are normal people out there who would find that disgusting!!)

I am hoping for sunshine again today... I so want to go out and check and see if my tomatoes are doing what they were told, and finally ripening for me.

By the way, yes, I realise eating a cheese sandwich at 0345 in the morning probably isn't normal behaviour but then I have never actually claimed to be normal. Plus it's home made bread and I can't resist it!

With hugs to all who need them and congratulations to anyone who is celebrating a birthday today!

  • ahhhhhh its normal.......im eating cheese and crackers......in my defence though i've been up for two hours!! its my morning and im starving!!!! yum!!!
  • Morning Guys!

Ive been up alot through the night but only because Im not feeling too well. Im at my mums ATM and here till tomorrow evening. Ive just been reading and resting really. I can't believe how much money they waste.

We have the family solicitor coming round later for us to sign paperwork as their Will (I'm executor) has to be updated....what a lovely thing to look forward too:D

Anyway, I hope everyone is well. I need a cuppa then back off to bed.

    Hugs to all.

    Morning folks.

Well 20th consecutive day of rain today, I thought we would miss it yesterday, but Oh no it tipped down.

It's raining now too and looking pretty awful out there. Bro in law had his fire lit last night when I went down to visit. So his Chimney was smoking and his chininea was not.

Picked the kids up from their camp. They had a great time despite the weather, so they are on a real high. I think they are happy to be in their own beds though.

Has a nice pub meal last night in the Lion and Lamb at Ashton, Nr Helston. Worth a try if you are ever down here. Big plates!
Off out tonight at friends for a meal, so looking forward to that. Its always nice to beat the recession one way or other.

Well I shall enjoy the lazy morning now that I am 2 weeks off...

    Morning

Susie, how horrible, hope he is OK.

PenPin, sorry you don't feel too good, hope your day gets better, but doing Will things doesn't sound like a bundle of laughs :o

Lots to do here today, I am deciding whether I can manage to decorate before the new suite comes, sorry, rephrase that, I am deciding whether I can be bothered to decorate before the new suite comes. There was a time when I would wake up in the morning, decide to decorate, and have it done by dinner. I am obviously getting too old for all that :D

Need to go down to the lottie as well, we have potatoes that need getting up, and hopefully my beetroot will be ready for cooking and pickling.

Off to have some breakfast, catch you all later x

    Morning All

A bit of a grey day here today. Loads to do but not a lot of inclination to do it! Found out this morning I'd won 2 competitions but you have to reply within 7 days so I missed out on them as I was on holiday - I hardly ever win anything either!

Princess Pixiedust - hope DS is feeling better and big hugs for you.

Hope everyone has a good day

    Hugs to all

WE MADE IT TO ILFRACOMBE YESTERDAY :rotfl: We stopped at Combe Martin first, there was a little shop with internet access and I actually went in just so I could tell you all but there were only 2 computers and they were both being used :rotfl:

The rabbit was not impressed that she'd been stuck in her hutch all day, I went to feed her and she turned her back on me (she does that sometimes, when she's not happy), she didn't move until I walked away :D

I'm hoping to have a lazy day today, 2 loads of washing to do and I need to catch up with the ironing but that's about it. I want to hide in the greenhouse with my toms for a bit too lol.

Mr troo's back to work tomorrow so I'll be able to get back to my OSing.

    Good Morning

(((hugs))) for you PP & Pixie & DS.

Sitting here in peace and quiet as the rest of the house is still asleep. No OS for me today as we are off to a wedding and I have everything crossed that it stays dry.

Dont want to rub it in N9eav but yesterday was very hot here and we even went out on the boat. Downside is that the farmer muck spreaded the fields opposite our house and the smell was terrible.

Going to have a mooch around the boards.
    Have a great Saturday eveyone.
