Afternoon all
Aussie - i love the cape - did you have a pattern or did you make it up as you went along.. i'm so inspired now and i know I have a pattern somewhere as I made dd a cape for halloween years ago. Trouble is dgs(3) is into spiderman which might be more complex - will have to look at some pictures - he does do an excellent impression of "spideryman" though
Well done to all the A-levellers - hope they all get the places they want
well I've bought more paint, tsken my fantasy team in and dropped my old internet phone off to my friend andhave procrastinated as much as I can - off to carry on the paintingI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Had to dash out in the rain this morning to photocopy DH's passport for a once a year part time lecturer job he has been doing for years. The more bumph the less common sense!!!
DH gave me a lift to a large Sainsbury and I used the money DD gave me for my birthday to get two nice cardigans - one black and one grey- they are the kind that do not fasten IYKWIM so should still be all right when I lose some weight. The weather is so miserable at the moment that winter is on my mind.
Hugs to everyone that could do with one and Kaat lady, how is Archie?
Good luck to Martyn for his job interview.
Need to start chopping veg for tea and might do a stir fry with noodles if everyone fancies that."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all,
I have made the curry, it's slowly cooking in the oven. I have one of those huge double handled pans, the type used in Schools, factories etc. The Landlady at our local was having a clearout ages ago and she gave it to me. It has come in so handy, I used 4lb of lean YS stewing steak and by the time I had added onions, peppers, mushrooms (all reduced) garlic and loads of indian spices etc, there must be about 6.5ibs of curry.
We have a huge Carnival party every Nov. It's held at night and people from all over the world come to see it. The floats have thousands of lights on them, anyway getting back to the subject, I will freeze it as it always tastes better after being frozen. I buy the meat whenever it's reduced and stock up.
DH has finally changed all light bulbs to energy saving ones, I have kept a record of the meter readings and at last it hit home just how much of an increase power is going to cost. He bought them y/day as he gets 10% off for old codgers at B&Q.
He was cutting the worktop outside to go in the utility room when it started to rain so he wound out the awning, when he finished he wound it back in and got absolutely drenched, all the water had filled the awning making it bow, and it landed on him, I couldn't stop laughing. :rotfl: :rotfl:
I received my M Richards jet steam elite iron today a bargain at £55 they are normally £120ish. It irons better so hope to use less elec. Also it steams clothes, curtains etc so will cut down on dry cleaning. Saving money is so expensive.
PIPPAS, I went through Quidco and got a quote from Hillarys Blinds and got £20 cashback, I then bought the blind from Blindsupermarket which is part of Hillarys and got 15% off and they had a sale on. Hope yah don't mind me saying.
METHERER, Haven't heard from yoo in ages, welcome back.:hello:

Hi all DD2 and DS out at their Dad's tonight. DD2 (who works with me) has been on the phone whingeing that she has been told off for time off/sick leave, timekeeping etc.. She is bad though, didn't know what to say, just kept mm hmming if you know what I mean? I have applied for a post which will effectively make me her boss, not sure if the relationship will go against me but we will see. It is her and five others to manage, I hope the fact my daughter is in the team won't go against me.
It is also her birthday on Saturday, she will be 22 and the proud owner of a 2:1 in Media Technology - woo! I have bought her Cooking Guide on the Nintentedo DS as she can't boil toast :rotfl: Don't tell her I said that
She will come over to the [strike]dark[/strike] OS side0 -
Here I am again
Congrats to those with A level results - I was thinking of retaking mine but to be honest I can't be bothered after all this time :rotfl:I'd have to do a distance learning course anyway once I'd passed them because I wouldn't want to go to university full-time.
Not had a hugely OS day so far but I've listed a few things on ebay that aren't being used. They pulled one of my listings though so I was unimpressed about that! It's up again now though.
Anyway off to check tonight's sausages have defrosted. ((((Hugs)))) to those that need them, congrats to SOMO1 and OH and anyone I've forgotten. Take care everyone!"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -
Morwenna, well done on tackling the pong......I thought that ICI was manufacturing new stink bombs :rotfl:
You might be able to use your DD to your advantage.....if it's mentioned, you could say that you would want to sort out her timekeeping etc.
Floss, thanks for the Tesco tipif you are either a size 5 or 7 shoe and are stuck, give me a shout Miss Twit and I have loads of pairs between us.
Well done to all the A-level students who have got their chosen places.
Managed to get Miss Twit a pair of trainers and a pair of school shoes today.
Bacon and egg barms for tea  no idea when Mr Twit will return from Nottingham, could be tonight, the bed has been changed today, so he thinks I've been a domestic goddess.....just got to use the Mr Sheen as air freshener and I've cracked it :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

There was me thinking the wind was blowing inland the smell of the treatment plant on the Prom and it was really Morwenna's kitchen sink!....if you are either a size 5 or 7 shoe and are stuck, give me a shout Miss Twit and I have loads of pairs between us......Bacon and egg barms for tea

I have a few cheats to give an absent DF the (false) impression of good-housewifery too: wipe down the granite hearth, wipe the bathroom basin round & give the loo a swish, tidy up the post heap by the front door & take the dyson out of the cupboard then put it back the wrong way.....so he thinks I've vacced - as if! That's his job!!0
