Oh Mr Anniestar I'm sure that many, many of us understand the hurt both of you are going through, I know that love from our pets is special because it's unconditional, well ehm, apart from the little treat or 4 that they demand at 6am.
I do wish you well for tomorrow, ((((hugs to you all))))))0 -

Anniestar & Mr A - I'm sure the sun will shine on you all tomorrow morning as you make Phoebe comfortable. I'm with Mioiliere, I've had 6 cats over the years, all of whom are no longer with us and it doesn't get any easier when they leave us. :grouphug:

Mr Anniestar, that post was lovely. You made me cry, but in a good way. I will raise a glass to Phoebe, and to Kaat's Archie (has anyone heard from her today? I'm a little worried at the lack of news) and to all the furry friends who have blessed our lives. My cat, Mittens, is my baby, and I've been making sure to give him an extra big tickle every time I cuddle him today.
Martyn, congratulations! As a one-time inhabitant of Grimsby and Immingham (blame Dave, nothing to do with me!) I can safely say that Hull is still the better side of the Humber. Good luck with the job
Well, the doctor didn't have anything new to say to Dave today, which I interpret as good news. By the way, Dave has told me it's fine to tell you lot what he's been getting up to, but if I tell any of his mates I'm dead :rotfl:wait til I see them! I think if he's off work for another week or so he'll be quite domesticated! Even though it's been a lousy week or so, now he's a little better it is actually good to spend some time together, not having a list of things to be getting on with, not feeling we have to go and 'do' something, just mooching around. I know it's wrong to think like that and I do feel guilty given how bad he was, but this has brought us closer together
Anyway, I'm off too, to watch a program about filthy takeaways that we sky plussed (had a million calls regarding Dave's own food poisoning) then Mock the Week.

Congratulations Benthosboy.
Mr & Mrs Anniestar (((hugs))) for you, I have only owned 1 cat personally & she is about 9 now, gives me heart attacks sometimes as she watches the road outside which is generally quiet, sees a car then makes a run for it. Cant keep her in though. Anyway what I was trying to say instead of waffling is that I cant imagine losing her but I know as well it will happen one day. I loved the sound of Phoebe's place in the garden.
Well have been in the office most of the day today but had so many interuptions its untrue, gave up this afternoon and OH treated me to a Maccy D - not os at all! Had to pop to Tesco to get the beer on offer and spent a fortune, will update the grocery challenge tomorrow.
By the way if anyone is sending me things or suchlike on Facebook - if I havnt replied - Im sorry - not that good at it yet.
Off now to read or watch some telly and fall asleep.

Congratulations to Benthosboy on the new job!
Anniestar and DH, I hope the sun lights up for you tomorrow (((hugs tight))) When we came back from letting our boy go we had a glass of sherry each and deliberately smashed the glasses, we chose not to drink from them ever again. We first of all said we would wait until we moved before having another cat, then after a couple of weeks of a sadly-catless house we agreed that if one needed us we'd accept. Less than a month later we were blessed when we "found" (on the net) an adult cat in need of a home. I said if I could afford him we would get him (he was also a Persian, as our Eden had been, but a different colour). Well, it was obviously right for him and us so we were soon cat staff again, and he's been our solace.
Sorry to waffle on, but I think there's always something or someone that comes along in a time of need, we just have to recognise who or what it is and reach out for it.

Firstly *hugs* for Kaat-lady and Anniestar and her family and anyone else who needs one.
The post by annies DH just made me cry - it was so touching. Thank you for sharing that with us and I think your idea of where to place Pheobe is a great idea..... losing a pet is like losing a family member and so my heart is with you and annie and Kaat-lady.
Mioliere - You are not alone, I don't understand Facebook either so haven't even gone there since my initial attempt to join...lol
wannabesybil - I have over 500 green tomatoes so if they don't ripe I will be making green tomato chutney just about forever!!!
Congratulations benthosboy...that is great news!!

I realise I am so late I might as well not have posted but I didn't want to miss saying hello to everyone. I know I am new but I love the camaraderie of the thread and how much everyone supports everyone else.
My day was full of sunshine but I couldn't get out into the garden so feel a bit frustrated. Did some baking though, so we have custard cookies and bread again in the house!
