Morning all:D It's kind of sunny but drizzly here today so I can't cut the garden after all:j :j :j
Didn't get much sleep as am worrying about DD's and not so dear SIL's prospects of finding a house before the baby's born. They can privately rent but it's sooo expensive in nice areas, so I think they are going on the transfer list to move near where they are but to a 3 bed house.Where they live is ok, but very busy traffic wise, and not safe for kids to play out:oOK I know i'm a snob but................:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: His parents comments when they announced the pregnancy were "bang goes your new car then!!"They have a car between them which is sufficient,I mean who can afford two cars these days, but I think they think he's been trapped. My DD's a great catch, and will earn tons in the future but they are money mad idiots:mad:  Suffice it to say they took him to buy his new car last night, blowing the deposit they had saved for a rented house. My DD is upset but what can I do?
There's no way she will put the baby in a nursery, and this is what they decided before she got preg;)
Anyway it's my Mum and Dad's 45th anniversary today.Obviously they can't go out so we are all going round and getting a takeaway, and drinks, and i'm getting some massive cakes etc to celebrate. It'll be a happy/sad day for them:o

mrsmix, catznine, catowen and fellow facebook hussies!! :hello: I'm still trying to get used to the new FB layout too! Yes mioliere you do have to be friends to see their photos, unless they put its for everyone to see. I've started making a note of who is who now before I get confused!
(((hugs))) to all those not feeling well, poorly relatives or pets xx0 -
Hi all.
Aussie - you clever thing, you! Isn't your DGD a little cutie; he's gorgeous.
Chalky - I was just thinking that - a week ago tomorrow. I can't believe how quickly the week has gone. DS2 has just texted from his honeymoon - he's just getting over an upset stomach which he is blaming on the mussels he had a day or so ago! He must be feeling better because they are sight-seeing today. They are driving up through the mountains to a lovely little typically Spanish town called Ronda; we went there a few years ago and it's at the very top of a mountain - it's the most beautiful place. DH and I are thinking of going back there next year if we can save up enough pennies!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one struggling with Facebook although I know how to answer messages now; well, if I don't RedRuby will tell me! I've just replied to her!
I've just eaten a scone from a batch I made in the Remoska and it was lovely. We have loads of clotted cream to use up by the 17th so we are looking for various ways of eating it; it'll be scones and cream for pudding for the next couple of days!
It's a lovely day here so far. The sun is shining and it's a lot warmer than yesterday. I've got some towels on the line so I hope it stays dry all day.
Well, better go and get something done.
See you all later.

Morning all,
I've been busy in the garden since 7 it's a clear sunny day here so managed to bed some plants and weed. one line full of washing.
DH had his blood test y/day (Squiggly thanks for asking) He told the nurse that he forgot it was a fasting test and had drunk some coffee, she looked at his notes and said there was no mention of it being a fasting test, so no harm done. He will see the Doc next week for the results.
I went to the hosp y/day and was told that I am still in a lot of pain due to the scar tissue still being inflamed since the opp in May. They gave me a large shot of cortizone, JEEEZ I nearly hit the ceiling. I have to go back in Nov for another check up and to arrange for the other hand/wrist/arm to be opped on.
Managed to empty freezer, clean and move it to the utility room before I went. I found 3 pairs of tights and a cd in there along with some cheese I bought in France last year  I freeze tights as they last longer, the cd was in the same bag, I thought I had lost it, well I suppose I had really, anyway once defrosted it played fine. DH has fitted 2 base units, today he will fit WM,TD, sink and 2 more base units. Hopefully fit wall units tomorrow. We got the units from freecycle and they're solid oak.
MSDIVA, we have had the same orange ball here, there's an artical about it in our weekly local.
CANDYGIRL, hope this evening goes well, ((hugs to yout DDad and your DD))
ANNIESTAR, sorry about pusskins.
SILVER, ((((( for Dave and YOU ))))
SHEZ, the photo of you all is lovely.
DAZI, hope the interview goes well.
PINK WINGED, Congrats to your DD.
Hugs and thoughts SMOKIE, MRS MIX, JAYWARD, and all that have slipped my fuzzy brain. x0 -
Morning all
Anniestar (and hubby) - you're still in my thoughts. :grouphug:
Kaat - Hope Archie had a comfortable evening and that you are both okay this morning :grouphug:
Streesedoutmumof1 - Happy anniversary to you and Mr Stressed!
Pink-winged (and Lil Miss Pink Winged) - CONGRATULATIONS!
MrsMix - I got a really good epson all-in-one at Mr T's last week - £29.99 but if you can find one of the backtoschool leaflets there is a voucher in there off it too.
Dazi - good luck on the interview! I'm sure you'll do great!
Celyn - exactly what I thought about my dissertation (different league, I know, but...) I think it can work to your favour - if you make yourself look a bit brainy in the first few pages they'll just take your word for it :rotfl:No other way I could have got a first for it!
Ageandjo - I would have salad if the weather is still reasonable, otherwise if it goes chilly again I would serve jacket spuds, hm coleslaw and minted peas.
moo2moo -uh, good luck on that one. I used to clean school toilets while I was at uni. I was going to say it was my worsty job ever, but actually I've had plenty worse; the cardboard box factory, the lightbulb factory, the meat packing plant... oh the joys of temping - can't believe I'm shortly to reenter it!
Candygirl - not sure what I can say, but I am thinking of you and DD :grouphug: Things do have a way of righting themselves, one way or another.
Shez - good luck meeting your friend! It sounds scary but fantastic!
Hugs to anyone I've missed and all who need or want one :grouphug:
Today I'm going to figure out whether my gas meter reads in square feet or square metres.
I'm also going to continue yesterday evening's crusade of trying one last time to get stains out of clothes before designating them to the rag bag. Not doing too bad so far: Stardrops banished a rust stain that I thought had been set in. It did it in seconds, literally before my eyes! I've left some stuff soaking in stardrops overnight - I know you're not supposed to but otherwise it's ruined anyway. I am considering trying to bleach the whites - might have to find out how to do that.
Have a good day everyone!! :j0 -
Good morning everyone, hope you are all well

Nice and bright in Dudley this morning, very cold though, havent any plans for today,as hubby working, but we are hoping to go away somewhere next week for DD birthday,so Blackpool may be on the cards,as we love it there, and the break will be lovely.
Kids arnt being too bad this holiday, its just keeping them occupied without spending huge amounts of money  but i havent spent too much yet this 6 weeks,i went into poundland and bought loads of craft things, paper, crayons, glitter stickers and things, and its really kept them occupied :j and watching repeats of hannah montana and high school musical and haveing disco's in the living room certainly helps!!! Forgot to add:
The Patient went fishing yesterday, came home smiling and in a little less pain, and was so tired that he fell asleep at 9pm and is still out cold. Bless 'em, eh?! Thanks for thinking of him, peeps who are. It really does help, although Dave does keep telling me to tell you that we're all mad.

Morning all !
Well, so far the suns shining.........not sure for how long though.
Youngest lad was supposed to go on a trip with youth club today and instead wandered off to the football field -why I've no idea..........his excuse didn't make sense at all. Oldest one has gone off for job interview (he says) so fingers crossed that he has and that maybe he gets it.
OH been and collected a little wardrobe from freecycle...........its currently sitting in our front room:eek: I said it was to go in the garage till our back room was painted out and then it can go in there for coats/shoes etc. but no, smack bang in the middle of the lounge!!
Could be worse........at least its a nice one, just the sort I thought it was and will be ideal. Just need to get back room painted now !
Trying to get my head round mm's and inches................want to order something and can't make sense of the measurements.........my brain still works in feet and inches !!Think I'll have to phone the company and ask them to let me know
Have a good day and hugs (((((((((:o )))))))) to those who need themMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
