What a good idea to use the Hovis mixes - now, why didn't I think of that?

BTW where are you buying them at that price? Asda have put them back up to two for £1.

Can't claim it to be oy idea read a post by someone else but i does work.

They are still 29p for the white mix and 27p for the wholemeal. I tend to buy up what ever they have as they are normally out of stock. Use by date is June 2009 so plenty of time to use them.

The rolls turned out well i was able to make 7 large rolls but next time i think i will make 8 possibly 9.

If and when the prices go up i won't bother buying them.
    Kind Regards
    Maz

    Hi donna,

I don't have a panasonic but basic breadmaking ingredients are water, skimmed milk powder, oil or butter, sugar, salt, strong white bread flour, and fast action yeast.

If you want to you can download the manual from here (you'll need to scroll down to find the link.

I'll add your thread to the Quick Questions on the Panasonic thread as your question may help others.

    Morning!

    White loaf recipe is:

    3/4tsp yeast
    400g strong white flour
    1tsp sugar
    15g butter
    1tsp salt
    270ml water

This is for the medium white loaf, and should be cooked on basic bake which takes 4hrs.

Hope this helps! Enjoy playing with your breadmaker, I'm about to try out my new jam maker now that my friend has left, he thinks I'm mad for getting excited about cooking gadgets lol!

    Ah, that explains it.

I have had great success with the Lidl flour, it produces far better loaves than Dove Farm flour and is much cheaper. I shall leave the ready mixes until they reduce the price again.

  • Amazon.co.uk were doing them for £99.., now they are £88 with free delivery. The free delivery makes the difference, when I looked before there were sites doing the breadmaker for £88 but u paid for delivery.
