anybody know when to add the raisins on my SD253?

It has the raisin dispenser, but the first and last time I used it, it didn't go off till after the end of the cycle, which meant the raisins weren't mixed.

I have put it on raisin dough, which started at 2 hrs 20 minutes, will it beep, so I can ensure the raisin dispenser goes off?

have been the proud owner of my panasonic for 48 hours and it's love:j !!

does anybody have a chocolate cake recipe i can make in the panasonic 254?

is it really necessary to line the tin with greaseproof paper?

Has anyone had success with cake in their panny? I gave it a try the other day using a recipe from a breadmaker book. I used the rapid bake cycle and it came out underdone. I finished it off in the oven and it was delicious - am I stuck doing that in future?

Also, has anyone had success in adding chocolate chunks/chips. When I've done this it's always melted into the bread completely, if I make the chunks bigger to avoid this I get chunks of burned chocolate round the edge. I put the chocolate in the dispenser and leave it to go in automatically - could I add it manually later?

I now don't line my tin for cakes as it is much easier.

I cook the cakes on the bake only option and most only need 55 minutes my fav being cerry & marzipan it is lush and i've made three in the last 10 days.

the banana and walnut cake is nice too great when you have ripe banana that no one will eat.
    Kind Regards

  • I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me with my bread issues. Happy to report the Panasonic is kicking out fantastic bread on a consistent basis now, it was just a matter of using the standard strong white flour. And the pizza dough?! To die for. . .. .

Only problem is it's so tasty I don't want to eat anything else!

My best wishes to you all.
