Panasonic Breadmakers Tips and Quick Questions Thread

I would love to get a Panni and have read through this whole thread which has been very helpful indeed!
My question is about wheat-free bread. Does anyone use Dove's Farm gluten free bread flour? Any success? My non-wheat bread is soooo expensive and goes off quickly that I would love to be able to make fresh loaves that I can eat. Any suggestions please?
Making my own wheat free bread was my justification for getting my Panni, I love the bread that I make. I use the Dove's Farm gluten free bread flour. The white on it's own taste a bit 'cakey' but it's great with cheese and sundried tomatoes! I also get Dove's brown bread flour and use that half and half with the white and that's much more like wholemeal bread - very tasty!
Any more questions please fire away!0 -
I bought a Panasonic 255 a few months ago, and we haven't bought a loaf of bread since, I love using it! Currently using Saisnbury's own brand flour and it seems to be working well so far. Next I am going to experiment with different amounts of sugar and salt as I feel like there is an awful lot going into the loaves, though I suspect less than the shop bought versions.
I ahve been halving the salt and sugar stated on the recipe and the loaves have been coming out fine. I'm going to reduce them even further this week0 -
I have just taken a loaf out of the Panny SD255 and although it's delicious, the crust is very soft (granary loaf), so much so that it's difficult to slice as it just squashes down? What am I doing wrong?0

I picked one up today in Costco for £80 including VAT if anyone is interested, this is a pretty good deal when you consider costco has a 5 year returns policy if anything breaks down.0

Allow it to cool completely first; the crust will then firm up and be easier to slice

Hello Panny experts!
I have just made dough in my Panasonic SD255. I followed the recipe for soft rolls/baps and having just taken the dough out it's not at all what I expected and I think it's gone wrong! It has a texture like sof chewed up chewing gum. I tried to remove some and it just stuck to my fingers. Not at all like bread dough.
What have I done wrong? I have no idea how I'm even going to get it out of the tin!
HEEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPP!!!!!
I find the dough recipe very sticky. If I want to make dough, I mke it by hand, as making in the BM saves no time at all  You could try reducing the amount of water you use in the dough

Used my 255 for the first time yesterday (- hooray!). Not at all bad but it'll be better when I use wholemeal flour.
I hadn't realised how large the slices are. Anyone know of a toaster that will accomodate these slices? Don't say the grill.0 -
I'm fed up of my Panny 254.
Everytime I make a loaf the blooming blade is in the loaf and I have to dig it out causing an even bigger hole.
I have added more water but with no joy.
I am thinking of taking it back and getting another one.
After that moan, I must say that the bread is GORGEOUS.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5
