Post Office Phone

Just to let peeps that have the Post Office Home Phone as their landline provider that their new price structure comes into force today.

Looking forward to Friday night this week and all weekend, when I will be able to phone mobiles in the UK for free and my mates in the USA for free.

Had another flyer through the door from BT begging me to come back.

More expensive standing charge from BT
More expensive mobile calls from BT
More expensive foreign call from BT

Anyway, thanks to Post Office for allowing me to keep in touch with my kids for free on their mobiles all weekend. :beer:

IMHO Post Office Home Phone is excellent value for people that don't spend much on landline calls, my typical £34 bill including standing charge is testimony to that.

I am thinking of moveing my calls to the post office, but not my broad band, the reason I am thinking of doing this is that I like the idea that you get free calls to UK Mobiles and uk landlines from 6pm Friday to 6am Monday (60 minutes - you need to hangup and redial if you want to keep calls free), and free evening calls through the week to UK landlines. all for £10.95. Also I can make use of the same for calls to the US at the weekend.

Does anyone here use the post office fo their calls? would you recommend them what are the pitfalls? Also can you manage your account vie the internet just Like BT?

Currently I pay £10.50 a month and get free calls to uk landlines at the weekend only.

I've got broadband and calls with the post office - given that DD spends a lot of time dialling her boyfriend's mobile our average monthly bill for everything is between £35 and £40 - I was previously with MAAF (for 2 whole months) and it was a constant nightmare, since joining the post office it's been relatively problem free although if you do have to call them the operators are based in the UK (gorgeous Northern Irish accents) and are very helpful.

This does sound great, its the mobile feature that appeals to me the most, but these calls all are less than 20 minutes but are quiet a lot, 20p each time (will need to see how many we make to see if this is the cheaper option)

hi wasn#t sure where to put this thread,but interested to if i am with the best phone provider.i recently just switched from BT to post office phone phone,but i am still getting the landline from BT but all charges are going via post office.i opted for post office after several times at PO counters i get bombarded with do you hme post office home phone but now i do have.have i made the right choice?just woundered

I may be a bit dim here, but can some one who already uses this service please clarify that calls to mobiles are free for up to 60 minutes and that you can hang up and redial again, and the call is still free.

As it looks to me that its just 60 minutes worth of calls are free across the weekend for mobile calls.

I don't get free calls to mobiles - first 60 minutes to UK landlines are free I think (evenings and weekends)

They changed it from october 8th 2008 that you get free calls to mobiles from 6pm friday to 6am monday, on there website it says 60 minutes - hence my question earlier if it was just 60 minutes or you can hang up and redial
