I like it sliced up and then shallow fried. Also we love it as a stuffing for chicken breastsand served with a whiskey and cream sauce.0

Are there any other online retailers?

Has no one discovered the ease of doing it in the slow cooker? V money saving on fuel! The reason for the foil is incase the skin splits, it means you still get some dinner if it all goes horribly wrong. And l...o...n...g cooking means great flavour.
And the only way to have it is with good buttery mash and neeps - or swede where I was brought up:D .
Like the idea of using it in lasagne, the stuffed/wrapped in bacon chicken breasts are great too with good whiskey/cream gravey.
Luckily we all like it and it's always well reduced after 25th Jan and freezes well so money saving all round. But not the veggie kind - it's mince:rotfl:0 -
Microwave it!! Cut into slices (like black pudding) in a covered pyrex dish - heat on 3 mins, mash up with fork, heat again for 3 mins ... serve!!
Alternative recipe that DH and kids all love:
Chicken breasts, make a slit in the middle - stuff in some haggis till it's bulging, wrap around some streaky bacon to bring the chicken back together. Cover with tin foil in warm oven for 20 mins. Uncover and cook for further 5 mins. Serve with either butternut mash, or mashed potato and carrot mix.0 -
surely its Quorn
:rotfl:
I see you're from up the Clyde so I guess you got the joke lol!
PS, away tomorrow to Norfolk camping eek! it's today, better get to bed, just didn't want you to think I've cut and run on this, I'll check back when we get back. Only 1 week left before term starts :sad:0
