Thanks for the advice re recording on mobile. I am now testing how long it will record for and if it will pick up when in my pocket. Feel like I'm going out on surveillance!

Pammy, if you have a phone that records that's a great idea of Yeosal's. Wish I had technology like that.

The best I can come up with is a little mini notebook in my handbag where I note down all the questions on the report, glance at it before I go in, and then jot down the answers as soon as I leave the shop.

Can anyone advise me on this please?

I've been offered a furniture shop visit - told it was the same as the one I did last week but different branch. On looking at the notes, it's really two visits as this shop has a clothing section as well. I have to do two separate reports. Is it reasonable to ask for an increase in fee or would that be pushing it? I've only done one job for this company so far (ISC)

I think it is a cheek asking you to do two reports for a single fee! If it is the same fee and same report but two of them, ring them up. I am not signed with them but when I did 3 departments in a store for a different company, I got 3 x the fee which is fair. No harm in ringing them, they can only say no. It may just be an oversight that fee the same.

Think voice recorders are on most phones, but u could always ring your home phone and leave a message. I write things down too as my memory not the best, normally pretend it is my shopping list as always carry one of those ;)

Scaredy cat- The other visit I am doing for ISC is the clothing and homewear shop. I just spoke to the allocator on the phone when she offered this job and she only offered the one fee. It does seem a bit meean. Perhaps I will e-mail her.

Can anyone help, I didn't look what was to the left and right of a place today and it's too far to go back to :( I remember someone saying how to find once, but cant remember and am now panicking :( argh!
  • Yeosal and Pammy - thanks for the advice. I'm really not sure what to do. She rang me and offered the visit over the phone and said it was the same as last time, but this one is clothing and home. So, although it didn't really register with me on the phone, she DID technically say it was clothing and home. But it was only when I got the email and looked at the questionnaire that I noticed it clearly states you have to write up two separate reports.

I don't want to be cheeky as I've only done one job for them so far - but part of me thinks two reports warrants two fees.

What do you think, Pammy? Shall we both email and that way they might think the natives are revolting and give in? (As opposed to thinking one of us is a pushover and the other is cheeky).

Scaredy cat- Yes I have already e-mailed her. I don't think I'll get far as it is the first I've done for ISC but with that and the length of the jewelry shop one perhaps I'm not bothered if they don't ask me again. I only took them because I've nothing at all on any of the other MS sites in my area and I was getting bored.

Thanks - I'll give it a try, too. I thought the job last week was ok, it was fairly quick and easy and ok for the fee - but then the report seemed more involved than I had expected, so in that sense the fee is probably about minimum wage!

This one, if I do two reports for one fee it's quite a bit less than minimum wage.

The thing is, last week I was doing 2 jobs for another company and just picked up the ISC one as an extra - it wasn't my sole purpose for visiting town, but this one will be.

Google the post code and see if it lists the numbers of any other shops in the street. You should hopefully be able to work out which number is either side to see which is left and right. That is how I have worked it out in the past.

    Good luck

  • Pammy - I've just PMd you.
  • Oh my god - you'll never guess what- one of my accumulators paid out on my betting shop job. I won £30 on one and as I had put another one on to win I won £8.50 on that one as well - whopee. At least that will now pay for the other betting shop job tomorrow and the supermarket job. Happy days. Got three more betting shop jobs next week so may bet on an accumulator again. Hubby getting worried now that I am getting addicted!!

Congrats sinderalla on your new job. As I used to work in the centre of town could always do a job in my lunch time but as now on maternity leave not so easy!

Off to complete my report on a bar job now. Got 3 jobs on tomorrow but are pretty local so not too bad.
