I bought a t.v bracket from M.akro along with a t.v and various other items. All items were scanned, I was given a total, I paid the total, and was given a receipt.
Whilst packing the car, the MOS came running out, took back the bracket off my trolley without asking, and told me told me to follow him in to pay the correct amount. I found that was rather rude to start off with. Inside I argued that I had paid for the item, had the receipt and how rude it was to just take the thing off my trolley, and walk off with it. Another MOS said they were in their rights to just take it, and if they had over charged I would have come back in for a refund of the difference.
I would have been okay about paying the difference, had the MOS explained this to me at the car, instead of just taking it, and if the MOS inside wasn't so rude, making me feel like a thief.
Do I, if any, have any rights as a consumer over what happened.0 -
Hi,
I got a 24 month contract with 3 network over a month ago. The package is for 900 uk mins, unlimited internet, unlimited blackberry. How ever I went on a 3day trip to belfast and when I returned I realised I was charged for roaming.I called them and they agreed to cancel the roaming charges but stated I would be charged for any other roaming charges in north ireland.I told them that the last time I checked northern ireland is in the uk. I told dem dt I signed a contract which stipulates I am entitled to these calls any where in the uk. I told dem dy were in breach as they were not living up to their tearms of the contract to provide me with the uk minutes. I have family in belfast and I go there quite a lot. I said ds and dey said dy will offer me 1 month free rental and later they said dy will credit my acct with extra 19 pounds which will be abt 50pounds credit. I go to belfast at least once a month and I have got 23 months left on d contract. Then they said they could cancel the contract. I already lost a great deal with tmobile when theyy offered me a cheaper deal with the exact services to renew, I decided to go for the 3 network offer because it took tmobile a long time to give me a good offer, so I took out the 3 contract. I could have cancelled as tmboile offered a day after I took 3,but I decided to stick with 3.
I'm really confused and I do not know wat to do. I obviously have lost the chance for the deal with tmboile and 3 is trying to wriggle out of this. What are my rights? Help pleaseT h e F u t u r e I s N o w !0 -
You should have checked the terms of the contract before signing it. There's nothing you can do.

UK minutes are UK minutes. Northern Ireland is the UK. Yes,they are in breach.
Fire off an email to the CEO, this usually has the desired effect:

It depends what they deem the UK surely?
for example couriers listy UK prices, but that doesnt include the whole of the UK
so if the contract signed excludes certain areas? Im not saying it does as i havent checked 3's T&C's0 -
Hi everyone,
I have a query. I found a company online and agreed by email last Thursday that they would to come and fit some worktops for me next week, payment was to be on completion.
However, I have found another company that can fit me in sooner. I need to check out the second company first but want to know, am I within my rights to cancel? (the work was to be done on site so its not customised for me). If so, would I have to cancel today (to be within the 7 days?) or could I cancel in the next few days?
Many thanks

Technically they could demand loss of earnings but it's very unlikely. Cancel asap to at least allow them to look for other work. I hope there's not too many customers like you around though. It's not a nice thing to do. Wonder what you would have done had they phoned to cancel on you!!0

Art Thank you for responding to my query. I agree with you, its not a nice thing to do and I do not take this decision lightly. However, all the companies who I requested quotes from were aware that this was an urgent situation, having been put in the position of needing to source alternative worktops after the kitchen company I ordered from turned out to be a bunch of cowboys. Were it my decision alone, I would be happy to wait and go with the arrangement already agreed. However, the whole fiasco that has led up to this point has been incredibly stressful and my partner, who is at his wit's end, just wants to get our kitchen finished off as quickly as we possibly can at this stage.
So I'm sorry if you think badly of me, but I didn't ask to be put in this situation in the first place!:(0 -
Hi.
I purchased an Air Purifier 2 years ago from Argos. I switch it on during the hayfever season - evenings only. Today something has broken as on "high mode" it barely blows out any air, normally it is so noisy you couldn't miss it.
I still have the receipt but will this general usage count as "wear and tear" for purposes of the Sales of Goods Act 1979?0 -
Speak to Argos to see if they will offer you anything but if not after 2 years you will have to proof the fault is inherent. How much did you pay for it?
