You need to read their cancellation policy and see if they are applying it correctly. If they are then you have no legal grounds for your request.
A letter written to the CEO of the company explaining your situation may be worth considering.

i brought a washing machine from littlewoods, 9 months after buying it it has packed up this was april 3rd......
i have had a repair man visit 5 times, on 2 occasions he put a new circuit board in. he came last monday and said it was unrepairable and would send littlewoods a report, today i find out they have infact ordered another new curcuit board
i have written a letter to head office quoting the sales of goods act, the machine is by servis so no help from them .....
i have asked nicely for a replacement / refund and i get no where !!!
i have had to buy another washing machine, i think nearly waiting 2 months i have been patient enough..
i got the letter from consumer direct webpage (there advice)...
what now i have to give them 14 days to reply, letter will be there tomorrow sent special delivery..
should i consider a small claims court and if so what do i claim the original cost of the machine, price of my new machine etc etc ??
thank you for any help in advance
How did you get on?
Sorry i didn't reply to you quoting my 'problem' but I got a full refund from littlewoods and they even collected the appliance (actually the collection part was a complete farce but it wasn't Littewoods' fault). I ordered another washer dryer from Littlewoods as I was dubious as to whether they would refund me or not and thought that if I ordered with them then I could block my payments until they refunded my original appliance. It got sorted in the end. It seems they have a 'policy' with regards to fautly appliances: if the SAME fault has to be repaired more than 3 times then the customer can press them for a refund or replacement (whichever is easiest).
In the meantime I learned a great deal about consumer acts!!!0 -

Hi,
I bought a suit as part of a package from TM Lewin just over 3 months ago. The package was 2 suits, 2 shirts and 2 ties for £525. One of the jackets' stitching has now started to come apart on the sleeve which I would ideally like repaired. It would only cost me around £10 to get the sleeve stitched but it's just the principle that the suit was obviously faulty at the time of purchase and I've only worn it maybe maximum 3 times a week since. It also is usually on the back of my chair for most of the day.
Unfortunately I've misplaced my receipt but can prove my purchase from bank statements. But it's a TM Lewin suit I can hardly have bought it elsewhere. The only need for a receipt would be to prove date of purchase.
I've been in to a branch of TM Lewin and they said that without the receipt I'd be unable to have this repaired. I challenged them that I could simply return the suit without the need for a receipt as it was faulty. She said she could not do this as it was beyond their 3 month policy. From reading here I think that's bull as under the sale of goods act I should expect the suit to last more than 3 months.
Am I within my rights to request a free repair without my receipt but with my bank statement? And, if it came to it, could I return the goods as faulty under the SOGA?
Thanks in advance,

3 month policy,smee month policy
a suit should last longer than 3 months even if work 7 days a week
go back with your proof of purchase eg bank statements and ask for the item to be repaired/replaced or refunded
their choice
if they refuse then its time to put a formal request in writing, but try instore first0 -
I bought a Tripp suitcase in April from Debenhams website.
However, when it came, it had dirty wheels and no labelIt also only had two wheels when the site said it had four.
I contacted Debenhams but they told me I had to contact Tripp direct as it was dispatched by them.
Time is now getting on and I'm not sure if I'm outside the return date but can anyone tell me my rights?
I thought that you were always meant to deal with the company you paid regardless of the manufacturer?0 -
get back to Debenhams ,its their issue to sort out0

Its up to Debenhams to help you out0

I have been going back and forth with my plumbers over a gas fire repair. Earlier in the year my gas fire stopped working, the plumbers diagnosed the problem, removed the working parts of the fire, and sent them back to the manufacturer for repair. The manufacturer sent back the repaired fire, but it was not configured to fit my fireplace, in that they had repaired it using different parts (made it manual when I had an auto) as the original faulty part was no longer being made.
My plumbers actually purchased the fire that was, to my mind, not 'fit for purpose'. But they realised the mistake, and have now gone back to the manufacturer for a new fire, as the old one cannot be repaired sufficiently. However the plumbers are now saying that I need to pay for the original fire that was not fit for purpose, plus the new one, that will be.
Is this fair? I have not signed anything saying I would pay for the repaired fire. They should have been told by the manufacturer that they were not able to repair the original fire to previous standard, yet they paid for it. Should I be paying for the plumbers mistake?
I think it is within my rights not to have to pay for the repaired fire, as it was not fit for purpose, and I signed nothing to indicate I would.
How do I go back to the plumber to indicate I will not pay for the repaired fire?
Thanks,
