  • Hi,

Me and my partner need commercial lending from the bank, so we need to produce a business plan. Our commercial broker introduce us his friend to help us on the plan. We agree verbally few hundred pounds, but at the end. He did not provide the service that we require. Basically he was sending us a templete thing , and ask us to fill in. As we want to sort out our funding ASAP,so we try our best to fill that all in. After we filled in all the details, he told us that is the final version by just deleting the questions. The final version has a lot of errors, mismatch figures, grammatical errors. We refuse to pay for such a service as it is not up to standard. We then recieve his solicitor letter that he will start court proceedings.

We are concerned our credit rating, but in this case, we don't think we should pay him. We have not signed any business terms and conditions. We can agree on a smaller amount say < £100 but the work is not worth few hundred pounds. Just wonder if the court does say we have to pay, say a smaller amount (not the full amount) , will we have CCJ?

His solicitor also calculate some interests on top of that few hundred pounds. we are still thinking if we just pay it, or we actually have right to dispute

Hope someone can give us some suggestion/advice. much appreciated.

    Hi,

This may be a silly question but it has been on my mind and has been triggered by my freezer potentially breaking down today (has just started making a noise again so fingers crossed!)

But, my fridge freezer is 3 days out of warranty, 3 days!! I paid £284.99 for it and of course had the standard 1 year parts and labour warranty (5 year parts).

But we all know that good should be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. Surely 1 year for a fridge freezer isn't a reasonable length of time?

I'm just wondered if anyone has ever challenged a manufacturer in this way?

You need to contact the retailer, NOT the manufacturer, under the SoGA, don't worry about it being out of warranty, that is extra to your statutory rights, in this case the SoGA, and cannot take them away.

How long does section 75 cover last for from the date of purchase?

The freezer in my fridge freezer has packed up and before I go to the retailer I was just wondering if I was still covered by section 75. Bought it 1 year 3 days ago.

First port of call though will be the retailer and the SoGA

S75 makes CC company;- ‘jointly and severally liable’ as the retailer, so if the retailer is liable under SoGA for "up to 6 years to make a claim" then so is the CC company.

  • Hi,

I just wondered if anyone could help me.
Back in September I bought a Fujifilm Finepix Z33WP on ebay through a company called DigiGood.

    It cost me over £100!

When I started to use it the battery charger was really temperamental. I put it down to the battery being ill fitting in the charger.

Last month it gave up completely. The battery just won't charge in it any more. I know the battery works fine as it charges in a friends charger.

The chargers are very expensive, we're talking £50 or so because of the technology. I emailed DigiGood and after three attempts got the following:

"Your item was under warranty by the seller for 90 days , unfortunately your warranty period is well and truly over, the only thing l can do at this stage is send you an invoice for proof of purchase and you can have this item repaired at thr nearest Fuji repairer, please send me your paypal transaction id so l can gather your details to send out the invoice."

I don't understand because the camera has been sold in the UK but it came with a One Year Warranty card in the box but all the details referred to the U.s I.e it asked for my state as opposed to town - so I couldn't send it in.

Can anyone help? What about the two year E.U regulations?

Was this a new item or a reconditioned one? Do you know if it arrived to you from the UK or from the US?

May be worth a call to Fuji to see if there's anything they can do.

  • Hiya, im really angry and dont know what to do.

I flew with BMI london to Edinburgh last month, when i recieved my mamas and papas pram at the other end it was very dirty, had scratches on the frame work, a few small nicks out the foam handle and a small rip in the hood.

I went straight to the customer services at the airport who gave me a number to call, after a few calls to different people and emailing the damages they finally agreed to take the pram and have it checked out by mamas and papas.

I recived the pram back yestarday and they have done nothing to it, saying it is general wear and tear and they are not liable!!!!!
The guy on the phone was very unhelpful, said i could just put it through the washing machine to get the marks off....... obviously doesnt have any children as most prams are sponge clean only!!

I purchased this pram for £170 in feb 2010 so was only 2 months old when they damaged it.

Has anyone got any ideas what i can do????

    Thanks

Your complaint is against the airline not the pram manufacturer. Write to them demanding action. You will have to prove the damage was caused by them though.
