The reciept states that the gift card has been activated and there is £5 on there surely they will claim they put it on?!
oh and btw it was an argos gift card as extra to the presants I had bought!haha

I wonder why you haven't returned to the shop and told them the situation. Chances are by now it would all be sorted out.

  • because I only found out 1 hour ago!I have sent them an email and I have tried phoning them there is nothing much more I can do tonight!
  • Just before Christmas I viewed offers on B&Q's website, which was Crown paint 3 for 2 and over 400 items came up on my search. All items were apparently avaliable to purchase in store. I went to my local store in Swindon, WILTS, and they refused to honour the 3for2 offer on the paint saying it was a webpage error. I emailed B&Q and as yet I have had no response. Were they supposed to honour the offer???

  • i wonder if anyone can help? i purchased 2 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of boots from the Aldo web site back in October (different colours to try as returns were free). After much hassle with the order tey arrived and i decided to send one pair of shoes and one pair of boots back. I had to get in touch with them to ask for a UPS label. It took 3 attempts for them to finally send me one, and i arranged for the items to be collected. By now it was mid November. UPS collected the items (taped together) and signed for them. a week later i received a refund for the shoes but not the boots. i rang and the woman said that they had received them but just hadnt been processed yet, and to call back in a week if i still had not received a refund. 2 weeks later i emailed (couldnt get through on the phone) and was told they HADN'T received them and that they would have to FIND them before refunding me. i replied saying that i wasnt happy as i now have no boots and no money, but just had an automated reply saying they were really busy, and havent heard anything since. is there anything i can do?
many thanks and Happy New Year.

No rights at all. What did you think you were buying for £29.50, an antique?

    Regards,
    Art.
I didn't expect it to just crack for no reason (I bought every piece in the set and it cost nearly £500 in total) - I use a china tea service on a daily basis and that has never cracked/been damaged and i use it and wash it up every day
Thanks for your reply but no thanks for the sarcasm - you should learn some manners

    Hello

Yesterday evening five of us went out to eat a well known chain restaurant for my son's 13th birthday.

Within two hours of us returning home, the whole party was suffering from vomiting and/or diahrreoa.
Two of the party are still suffering today, the rest are feeling a lot better, thankfully.

I phoned the restaurant this morning and was fobbed of by the manager who told me that it takes 24-48 hours for food related illness to kick in.
I just checked the NHS website and this is not the case. Food poisioning can begin within 1 hour of eating.
Plus two of the party hadn't eaten with us previously in the day, so the chances of us all getting sick from another source would be very slim.

Do we have any case for recompense here?
Or should I just contact Health and Safety about this particular restaurant?

Unless you can prove an inherent fault, which is unlikely after 2 years, then the offer seems reasonable.
