Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Hello I am after some advice, I bought a jacket for myself and one other as a gift when i got home the jacket for me was to small and also the one I bought as a gift (VERY small sizes) I had the recipts for both and took them back I swapped one and the one for myself was a womans large, they didnt do any bigger I even tried the mens sizes which didnt fit (Im normlly a 14-16) and there was no jackets that would fit me in the whole shop. When I asked for a refund they wouldnt give me one and all they would offer me was a credit note, so now Im stuck with a £95 credit note for a shop were nothing fits me!

Do I have the right to a refund?? given i was well within 28 days and had proof of purchase?? I was livid when I left the shop they were so unhelpful and I certainly wont be shooping there again!
  • Hi,

I ordered recently two of two different items on a website, one at £4.00 and the other at £0 (mistake by the company), i.e. an invoice of £8 plus shipping cost for four items. I received two items (one of which I had indeed ordered and the other one I had not) instead of the four I had ordered... I complained and was told I could ship the one I didn't want back and receive the one I wanted (£0 on the website) but the other item was out of stock (the one at £4). I received an email stating my order as 4 items... Have I got the right to receive the items wrongly entered on their website at £0 and get reimbursed for the ones out of stock?

    Thank you!

What 28 day period are you talking about?

Hello I hope that I am on the right forum as I need advice and don't know who to ask
I bought several pieces of Aynsley Potttery in 2002 from a local china shop which has since closed down - I bought all in that particaular pattern as i loved it and collected it one or two pieces at a time and they were all bought as perfect The pattern was limited edition and no longer available to buy
I am the only person who touches it and am very careful with it and do not use the vaeses to put flowers in, they are just on show
I now find one of the vases has a crack all of the way round - it has not been damaged by anyone it has just cracked:confused:
I realise I have had it for several years but surely pottery should not just crack for no reason, it cost me £29.50 at the time. No one has touched it, moved it or could have damaged it but I cannot prove that and i do not know what my rights are after this amount of time although I do still have the receipts for all items.
I can only think it was substandard when made otherwise it would not have cracked like this but again cannot prove that, but you see pottery on the Antiques roadshow etc that is years old and still perfect so i caanot see why I should accept that mine should crack for no reason whatsoever
Can anyone advise if they think i have any rights . I would have taken it back to the shop and know that the owner would have exchanged as he knew me well enough to take my word on the matter - I am very upset and very cross that this has happened
Any advice would be gratefully received- thanking any of you who can help

You have absolutely no rights at all in this case

You have no rights at all simply because you changed your mind or bought the wrong item. You are lucky to get a credit note.
  • Hey
I need some advice. I bought 3 gift cards on christmas eve from clintons each with £5 on them. I paid and they activated the cards and gave me the reciept. My family tried to purchase goods today with their cards and found that their was nothing on them. I do not know where I stand as the receipt states "No refund is available on this gift card once purchased".

    Have I lost my money?
    Please help!

No rights at all. What did you think you were buying for £29.50, an antique?

Not if the shop forgot to put credit on them.

Take the cards back with the receipts and ask they either put the credit on or refund you.

Btw Clinton card gifts for Xmas are disgraceful
  • The reciept states that the gift card has been activated and there is £5 on there surely they will claim they put it on?!
oh and btw it was an argos gift card as extra to the presants I had bought!haha

I hope the retailer realises his mistake and doesn't allow you to have the items for nothing.
