    Art,
Final question, all my dealings have been done with the local Comet branch, phone calls/letters etc. Do I put this address down on the court forms or Comet H/O ?
    Many thanks,
    Dodger

Yes, put the local store address on the paperwork. It is up to the local manager to inform his head office.

It doesn't seem ambiguous to me. Why would you want to return the goods and get a refund?

If they are offering a repair I think this is reasonable on second hand goods. Accept their offer.

    Art,

    Thank you for the response.

My apologies, my post wasn't very clear. Due to other circumstances I now need the money back. Can I use the fault to get a full refund?

    Regards,
    B

No I would suggest the best you'll get is a repair.

My saga continues. I've now received the replacement sat nav, the Navman S50. I get it out the jiffy bag and a sticker on the box tells me its 'factory repacked' i.e. refurb, not new! There's no mention of this on the website, and between me buying it on Monday and it arriving today the price has gone down £15 a well! Cheeky gits. I've emailed them and told them I'm not happy, but what can I do? I'm happy with the item, don't wanna mess around returning it; is there any redress I can get?
    Thanks again.

You have no recourse on the price reduction. If they had put the price up would you have paid the difference?

If they offer a price guarantee you may be lucky there.

I know I don't really. I'm just mainly wondering about the new/refurb thing, and what I can do there?

They are within their rights so long as you are offered the same warranties etc as originally.

The sticker does say 12 month warranty on it, so I guess thats it. Thanks for your help again.

I've just got it out the box and its scratched and marked on the back! These people are really taking the mickey now.

EDIT: Upon request, they've now agreed to give me a credit note for the £15 for my inconvenience. That'll do. I was surprised they agreed to it tbh, I guess if you don't ask you don't get.
