hi thanks for replying you know the rubber tip on a heel that fell off and then because we hadn't noticed plus we couldn't really change them as we were at a wedding the bottom of the heel like the plastic covering over it was split and shabby at the bottom. you don't buy a pair of shoes and expect the heel tip to fall off after one use. the shop said they will repair them.

No harm in letting the shop do the repair but tell them that if they fail again you will expect a refund.

thanks to art who i have seen has helped alot of people on this site.

so i have another one for you.

my son bought his girlfriend a quite dear watch from debenhams for xmas she has only worn it a couple of times as it is a dress watch full of diamontes, anyway a few of these stones fell out so she took the watch back and they repaired and she excepted this although she wasn't very impressed with the repair as you could see yellow glue were they hadstuck them in.
a couple of months on she worn it for the above wedding and later noticed the same stones had fell out again.
she took it back to the shop and they have offered another repair she said she wasn't happy with that has it had been done before and wanted a replacement. they said no and referred her to the manufacturer.
where does she stand they watch is less than one year old and has a two year guarantee.

    thanks for any help

How old are the shoes, how many times have they been worn and what was their cost?

On the basis of what you say you are entitled to a refund or replacement. Tell the shop that the shoes are not fit for purpose and not of merchantable quality.

You can't seek redress with your credit card company but it may be worth talking to Trading Standards if the shop won't help.

Tell Debenhams the watch is not of merchantable quality and you want a replacement or refund. If they refuse tell them you will seek redress in the Small Claims Court. If the watch cost of £100 and was purchased with a credit card write to your card provider and ask him to assist you.
