As I have been waiting a week now for Abbey to let me move money from e-saver account to current account I do not believe that they are capable of doing anything "quick".
My ISP is in Portugal and I have no trouble logging on and could make payments if Abbey would let me move money between my accounts. Their customer sevice has deteriorated in recent years and they just do not care about providing any form of service. An automated acknowledgement of e-mails and then nothing.

hots123...go to tiscali home page, then to Services, then to Forums, then click on Tiscali Forums (near three green lines ) then scroll down to Broadband Service Support. If you wanted to post on there you have to register.

I could put a link but didn't know whether this would be allowed.
  • Geriatric - sorry if I assumed this was connected to the Tiscali problem - obviously not - but Abbey haven't told anyone else they were moving services. Thanks for your posting.
Hots123 - I've just left a message on the Tiscali Broadband Support Forum - the thread is Internet Banking. Registering was quick but it's taken from this afternoon until now to get approved so that I could post. Don't know if it will do any good but worth a try as Tiscali tech support seem to have given up responding directly.

Having terrible problems with Abbey for over a week now(YEARS IN FACT). Initially was unable to move money between accounts on line. After endless phone calls to abbey and different excuses...the latest is they are sending me a new card to re-register.Now like many others I cannot even log on at all. Someone at Abbey blamed Tiscali and AOL ! but I think the problem is theirs.

This is the final straw after years of disgraceful service..im switching to A&L .

.... I'd go with AOL before Tiscali. ....

I love that quote, I was tempted to paraphrase it, but I guessed the mods would kick me..#
    I'd rather.....

  • Hi, So the the problems continue for another day with Abbey saying it's Tiscali and Tiscali, well, not saying much that is helpful and just returning generic stuff rather than getting down to curing the problem. The good news is that the issue has now been escalated to their 'concerned department' - that should fix it! (I wish!).

I've been with Tiscali for years and never had any trouble getting into either of my bank accounts or my Visa account with Tesco. I have several other secure connections and they all work well too.

I reckon the problem lies with Abbey.

How can it?, if people using decent ISP's can connect OK with Abbey.

I am 99% certain the problem is with Tiscali, they get more user complaints than all other ISP's put together at ISP Forum.

If you can gain access to a Dial - Up connection with another ISP, to access Abbey that would prove one way or the other if my comments are correct.;)

Yes try it on dial up for the cost of a local call here e.g. 1p per minute.

rahew Abbey's parent Santander are in the process of acquiring A&L.
Switching to them could be a bad move! I doubt if they will keep both companies separate.
