  • Hiya everyone

Kids to school, me back home in the warm and having a :coffee: to defrost. Have just taken some pork steaks out of the freezer and when defrosted I will be bunging them in the SC in a tomato and mushroom sauce, served with spuds and assorted veg.

In a minute I neewd to put on DW and WM and BM may make an appearance too :) After that, general whip round and our room needs a good going over. May even venture to the darkest depths of the en-suite with me trusty steam cleaner. (plumber is going to be working in there in the next few days, so I'm sure he'd prefer it sparkly clean:)) Other than that, I want to sand the wood work in the dining room and sugar soap the walls/woodwork too. Then I can start painting tomorrow (deep joy)

Squiggles - you reminded me I forgot to soak my broth mix (I like barley) May do that today so I can make soup later/tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    TM
  • Hi everyone,

Can I join the oldstyle club? I cook all my food from scratch and I try to recycle most things and be a money savvy! Even though OH and I are working full-time!

    Hello Everybody

I haven't posted in here for a few days. My DIL & GS are still here with us. Granny is stuffed.:D Went to work this morning. My castle hampers came this arv. :jDo you have anything like that over there? You pay a small amount each month for a hamper or hampers of your choice and they get delivered around this time of year. It's like Xmas come early. I have hidden all the choccies & goodies. I will have to be very good not to sneak in and take them. ;)

Ran out of water yesterday, DH was in the shower. Hee Hee. Glad it was him and not me. Had to fill up with bore water. Nice, NOT. Hair will be a head of straw by next week. Although looking at the fashion mags, DD buys the straw look is in. Hope you all have a nice day.

PS. Warm, sunny & breezy day today. Wonderful washing day. :D Not that I'm smirking or anything.

Hi ! I used to have the hampers years a go but they're just so expensive and half the time I dont like the stuff in them so I swapped to ordering shopping vouchers from the same sort of company and pay for them over 10 months then by the end of October all my christmas shopping is paid for :j . I find it easier to do it this way as it means I cant dip into the money !
I can spend the vouchers in most shops and it takes all the worry of the expense of christmas away! :D I also save Tesco savings stamps through the year for my christmas food shop!

Today I'm off shopping with my Mum and we're also picking her new car up , she's very generous and gave me her old one !!! :j :j :j :j which is much newer than mine was and has done half the mileage.I sold mine and paid off our holiday with some of the cash :D

Have a good day all! hope you feel better soon Penny Pincher :A

Another working from home day for me today. 2nd load of washing is in the TD & I've washed up the stuff from last night that can't go in the DW. Chicken out of the freezer for tonight & I've got some leftover chilli in the fridge for lunch.
Some bright spark at Head office has sent a ton of emails with massive attachments & crashed the whole thing, so I can't dial in remotely & pick anything up....ah well! ;)
My christmas present list is looking a bit healthier - just OH's family in Wales to buy for now. HOWEVER we won't see them til Jan at the earliest so I might just wait & buy their prezzies in the sales. Is that bad?
