    Wobbs: Happy birthday!

I have just got back from lunch (well, a little while ago.) DS bought me lunch at the Tiptree Jam Factory Tea Shop! I had a jacket potato with cheese & salad, and he had a bacon sandwich - and a pot of tea between us of course. It was so sweet of him, as he only has a little Saturday job, but nice to be taken out & paid for ... by a 15-year-old young man!

    Hi all,

Sorry gals and Supermen;) I am late posting as usual, having been out since morning.

Here in the Glorious Republic of Sarf East London all is well weather-wise, a bit of frost earlier, but nothing too drastic, sun shining. Still too cold to hang clothes outside, though!

Happy birthday to all the birthday people, and sorry to hear of so many broken and sleepless nights.

Kiwichick, I can only echo so many other mothers - if your 3 Y.O. is still wetting the bed it means she is not ready to be dry. Either keep her in nappies at night, or be prepared (large plastic sheet - a cheap shower curtain or even a large plastic bin-liner will do - under sheets, to avoid spills on mattress. A large towel on the plastic and under the sheet will help her feel more comfy.) Good luck and don't let the 'supermummies' make you feel inadequate about their 'dry and potty-trained' children - you are not there when they have all their little accidents!

Been to my yoga class, then to have a haircut. I could not find a model cut anywhere local for free so had to get the next best thing, 50% discount on Monday mornings and ended up paying £11.15 for a mediocre haircut done by a just-out-of-training teenager *sigh*, well some you win some you lose.

Then went around charity shops and found some good yarn (20p each ball, Rowan cotton ribbon - good for finishes!) and more knitting implements, all at 10p each so I got a few bits and bobs. The best of all them is a little counter that you can stick on the end of the needle to count how many rows you have done. Great! I was going to buy it anyway and only paid 10p for it!

Then home, lunch was veggie-bacon and eggs on toast and tomato-cucumber salad, finished with a lovely Sicilian orange from my organic delivery YUMMY.

Just had a cup of hot chocolate and trying to make myself start typing the minutes for my home-based office job - but procrastinating like mad as usual....

Dinner is going to be Fagioli all'Uccelletto (White beans 'little bird' style - don't ask why they are called like that, I don't know!) It is a dish of cooked beans sauteed in a tomato, garlic and sage sauce. Will prob. serve them on a bed of rice and have cooked cabbage with oil and vinegar as side dish - need to do something quick and practical as tonight I have my knitting class.

Off now to type the minutes (yeah, right! says the other half of my split personality :D ).

    Love to all

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Hello everyone

Blimey - it's taken me ages to get to the end of this thread and post this. Tried 3 times before, but now Mr TM and the mouselings are playing cowboys, so are charging around the house with cap guns :) I finally get a bit of time to myself (can't say peace with the 'war' going on outside this room :D)

Today I was run off my feet. Boys to school, over to mum's to clean her house then rushed back to collect DS2, home for lunch, put on BM, DW, prepped chilli, tidied up, off to Tesco for mega shop (and I forgot my double points vouchers ), home, deposit shopping, off to do school run, home to make tea/referee assorted fights/help with homework/put shopping away/let kids help make tea etc etc. Managed to eat and last 2 charges just gone home. Phew.

Tonight is Corrie night and Celebrity GMOOH has started so I'm OK. Have some sewing to do - shortening of trousers, repairing jeans etc. so can do that in front of the tv.

I have also acquired a new coat today - a full length, navy blue wrap over cashmere coat. Mum can't wear it any more as it's too long for her but it fits me fine :D It's a £500 coat, so who am I to complain :D The fact she's already bought me a 3/4 length black wool coat for Xmas is a bonus too.

Anyway, off to read up on here before the cowboys come and gets me. Have a good night and Happy Birthday to the birthday peeps.

Happy birthday to all the birthday people, and hope all those who had a bad night do better tonight.
I seem to be run off my feet at the moment, but have little to show for it.
First ever Tesco delivery is due tomorrow evening. Delivery charge was £3.99 but I used a £5 off code, so was happy with that.
Posted another Amazon book off today, and have quite a few bits to put on Ebay, so hoping to see some £££ coming in the door soon instead of going out!!

Took DD to doctor this morning for another blood test and then drove her back to Newcastle for uni as she is desperate to catch up and is feeling better.

Got home at 2 pm and managed a home made pizza with veg topping for 4 p.m. - so quite pleased with myself.

Found out a really nasty virus had created an extra toolbar , giving us sites that I did not want DD (aged11) to see!

Have just spent ages running anti spyware and hope it is sorted (fingers crossed!)

Dried peas are soaking in boiling water ready for soup in the slow cooker tomorrow and may make a Slimming World recipe for myself and anyone else that will have it.

Ironing mountain is now 2 mountains instead of one but not really worried - it will get done eventually and would rather spend time with invalids or helping 11 year old with homework. 11 year old not happy as I have told her she cannot go near the computer till I am sure it is O.K.
Her comment "But YOU are on it!"

    "I am not 11!!!!"
    "This site is addictive!"

    Hi everyone

Gosh! You're all so busy, you put me to shame. I've been in school all day and I'm now completely exhausted! I've managed to hang one load of washing on the airer, and need to contemplate my next load to put in................ oh and all the ironing. It's never ending!

I was so silly this morning and I completely forgot to take anything out of the freezer for supper tonight. I popped into Tesco for some bits for school (ie bribery for the children in the form of prizes) and came out with a pizza..... Whoops. Ah well. Minimal washing up for OH :D

OH cleaned the house from top to bottom yesterday. I'm so lucky. We're also planning to go up to the Lake District for half term in Feb, so I can't complain at all - though trying to find a cheap cottage is near on impossible!!! Ah well. We'll get somewhere, even if it's just staying at home.

    See you folks later

Well my kids have watched Charlie and the Chocolate factory twice since they came in from school and it's kept them quiet all that time so it looks like that was a good buy :D

Evening all, I've been buried in the kids room all day, felt like I was trying to climb Everest. It's all done now though and there is only one box from the stuff from storage that hasn't been unpacked. Their bedroom is back to normal (actually it's tidy, normal will come tomorrow) :D

DH cooked tea, tuna and pasta, bless him.

Oh and we now have a pet hedgehog!!
