Kiwichick - I heard when my 2 were little, that accidents were more likely to happen if anything disrupted the sleep pattern, so they slept heavier and didn't realise they needed to go toilet. So if they were overtired, or seemed to be going down with something, or generally a bit iffy, they'd agree to a nappy on for an odd night just incase. The children slept soundly, and when they were back to normal nappies off again, maybe we were lucky, but it worked for us.0

Got up earlier this morning so that I could do a few household chores and come up with a meal plan for the week ahead (I'm off to the supermarket this evening). Made breakfast, sat down on the sofa to eat brekkie, turned the laptop on and logged onto MSE. Three guesses how much housework has been done and how many meals I've planned thus far............zilch!!! Guess I'll have to do the meal planning on the bus instead. As for the housework, it'll still be here this evening :rolleyes:0

Got up...sorted myself out.....got in the car ready to go to work.....left the car running for a bit.....and nothing. The thing started, accelator pedal worked, handbrake came off fine, but the darn thing wouldn't move an inch. Spoke to my OH...turnes out he'd washed it yesterday and chances are some water got on the brakes and its frozen up.
So it looks like I'm working from home today...and I just hope that it frees itself up. If it does I'll probably pop out later to boots to spend my free £5 voucher on some new gloves that I'd spotted over the weekend. Got the voucher as I needed some more makeup and went for No7 to get the free bag. After when I needed to buy I only needed to spend another £3.50 to get the free £5, so it made sense to stock up a little.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Morning all,
Kiwi, my middle DD wet the bed until she was five  Then someone told me to cut all fizzy drinks out completely and she was dry from the 2nd day! Sticker charts work well too, I use them to get my DDs to do everything from cleaning their rooms to going to bed on time. Good luck
Home again today, will continue with potty training little DD, actually having spent the weekend stuffing her full of smarties I think I might make a sticker chart for her today.
Going to make more rolls in the BM, leftover soup for lunch, then HM Burgers for Tea. I've only got mince left in the freezer so I'm going to have to get really creative or they'll all be sick of it by the time I go shopping on Friday
Bye for now, Sally:snow_laug HM Christmas 2010

Morning all
Bright but cold morning up here in Newcastle city centre. Typing from work today. Just had a naughty bacon and cream cheese bagel and coffee from obriens but that’s the last, strict diet and gym membership from now on. I WILL fit into a smaller wedding dress. Fell in love with ANOTHER dress but it is the most bl00dy amazing dress I have ever seen! HERE that is it. Its just so *drooool* but its £750.
My parents have said they will pay for the reception as we have saved up £2k ourselves. *yay* MIL said she will help out with money but id prefer not to take her money as she isn't really well off as she is a single mother to 2 21yr old gannets. And she has a mortgage and stuff, I don’t mind taking the money of FIL though, hes minted.
Its casserole and mash for tea tonight as its winter weather and OH likes his winter grub. Im going to make up a batch of thick country veg soup and freeze it in portion sized pots so I can defrost it as needed and put it in my flask. I like warm food on a lunch time but the canteen doesn’t have a micro and they wont let you heat anything up in the one in the kitchen because ur not buying the canteen food *grumble grumble*
Will be making OH some egg mayonaise for his pack ups and ordering some shopping tomorrow when I get paid.
Ive decided im going to be a bit of a gym wh0re and sign up for all the free trials and dot and dash from gym to gym till they run out, then start again
Landlord came round yesterday to see the ceiling in the bathroom where up stairs have flooded us AGAIN, 2nd time in 2 month. They are getting a VERY large bill this time for entire new artex ceiling and paint and possibly damage to the bath where the plaster fell of the roof and into the tub.
The people up stairs really are halfwits and thick as two short planks. They are off the christmas card list!
Will post back later on after ive been busy doing nothing.0 -
Morning ladies and honorary ladies
I got four and a half hours' sleep - I had difficulty getting into "sleep mode" so ended up sticking the telly on and found that last night's BBC Learning Zone programmes were all about effective money management for dummies! That started at 2:00 and there was a Bank of Mum and Dad repeat scheduled for later in the sequence - I even think I caught a glimpse of Martin in one of the "still to come" trailers, doing his demo of the MACS credit card (remember that??) Anyway, I did see sense in the end and put a video in at 2:30 so I could switch off and go to sleep. Guess what I'll be watching this evening?
ancasta - your wedding dress "Plan B" reminds me of the one my cousin's wife wore, except the textured overdress bit was cream and the underneath layer was dark green. She looked gorgeous in it, and white just would not have looked right with her colouring. BTW, with regard to the gym wh0re thing, sign up for the LA Fitness e-newsletter if there's a branch near you, cos they quite frequently have printable vouchers for free days or weekends. But all the best deals and freebies at most gyms happen in January when people are making their New Year's resolutions, which isn't too far away...
LearningToSave - I must try the same thing with my ironing, though in my case I'll be watching last night's video...
Penny-Pincher!! - Bexley Council normally charge £12 to collect 2 items  but I don't know if there are any concessions for people who are housebound and/or on benefits.
Tonight's food is reheated HM pork & pineapple curry with rice.Operation Get in Shape

Morning all...
just popped in to say I'm still aliveI've been really busy with ebay sales . We've cleared over £100 profit - minus paypal fees - since September so I'm a happy bunny. Got listing finishing today (11am - bad time I know but I'm at the stage where I just want everything OUT OUT OUT!!!!) and loads finished last night. Got more expensive things to list now, like OH's last two mobiles (an identical one to the better of the two has just sold for £78 so I'm hoping ours does as well
)
Went away for the weekend to SIL's 18th birthday and I'm upto my ears in washing and housework so I'm off to wrap ebay parcels and get the post office. Going to have to do them in batches of 5 though - got some very nasty looks last week when I posted 14 at the same timeAt least I can do it over the day though and not have to worry about taking DD with me now that she is in school.
Right off to put another load of washing in the WM and drink my tea before it goes cold ....Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning all, we had a very nice Sunday lunch yesterday as OH's parents and brother came down to visit and they paid so it was a lovely treat!
I woke up this morning to find that our kitten has had an upset tummy in the night! Have had to hoover the floor, and wash the bedding (ours) and her blanket! Grrr, she is all smelly now, yuck! I wanted to give her a bath but i'm not too sure, might wait til mum is home to help.
I am going to make a sausage cassarole today, catch up with the ironing and get my things ready as I am going back to work tomorrow (not been there for two weeks). I'm a little nervous about going back, I hope that I stay well enough to be there. I just need to wrap up warm and stay inside and fingers crossed I wont come down with anything else!
I also need to ebay loads of things that are sat her looking at me, might do a few if I get the chance.
Have a good day all.0 -
kiwichick wrote:Morning All,
The night from hell for me, DD1 (3) wet the bed twice- again  Anyone got any bright ideas on how to get her to stop? I am going to try bribery this week and use a star chart. I've not got angry with her as she is sad she is wet anyway and I dont think it would help.

My son was 11 before he was dry at night. He has tried two different types of buzzers (one that was attached to his pants, and one that was a mat) but the thing that helped the most was totally cutting out blackcurrant. The Enuresis nurse first said that we should cut out Ribena, but as I didn't buy Ribena anyway, it didn't make any difference, it turned out that when she said Ribena, she meant all blackcurrant! He has now been dry for nearly two years (yay!)Quidco cashback paid out so far £745.89 :j0 -
Hello,
Gosh its so cold today, but at least the fog is almost lifted, I thought it was here for the day.
Well I have done 2 loads of TD and 1 more to go, and 2 loads of washing, awaiting airers and TD, and cleaned the kitchen. I only came over here to tidy the desk, but I cant keep away from this thread it's compulsive!
Phoned Scottish Power this morning about our DD for gas and electric which they had raised from £39 to £54. Until a couple of months ago we were paying £60 per month and had a £95 refund as we were massively in credit, and DD reduced. Apparently we are not in debit but they would like us to keep a credit on our account over the winter! I told them the credit was better earning interest for me and not them, so have requested to go back to quarterly bills. I will find time this week to look up other providers on the net, (using the info in Martins new book of course!) Our bills with Scottish Power are "supposed" to be capped until next year but I think that this is a crafty way of hoiking up their prices, in line with everyone else.
Just took some meter readings and will do as my mum does, read them weekly so I can calculate how much the bill is totting up to and make sure I put this away.
Spent last night "tarting" up my "new" ebay coat, resewing buttons, shortening sleeves etc. Although it says dry clean only I have washed 100% wool coats before with no problems, this one has turned out OK. Just need to press it now, and I will be much warmer tomorrow on the numerous buses I have to catch to work.
OH is not happy with me as I do not want to go to his works Christmas"do". Is it just me or does anyone else hate these things? I dont go to my own works "do" either. Horribly anti-social Im afraid.
Tea tonight is chicken and leek pie, with pots, sweetcorn, carrots and sprouts, followed by jam tart and ice-cream. (Or maybe it's custard weather) I think I'll have Aldi's version of super noodles for my lunch with grated cheese, sweetcorn and chopped up ham, yummy!
BTW- hugs to all those who had a bad night last night. My night was good but too short!0
