Sunday lunch is cooking ready for 4p.m. chicken pie, roast potatoes, carrots, cauli and sprouts with yorkies and gravy and two home made apple pies - one with mincemeat in it- and custard.
DD has done her computer homework and I got a winter coat and warm hat yesterday - caramel coloured 3/4 length coat with fur collar that should have been £100 - for £25! :j
Have to go rescue the yorkies - fingers crossed they turn out all right.

black-saturn wrote:I've had a lovely weekend with my boyfriend but he had to go home today so now I'm all upset. It seems like such a long wait until I'll see him again and his teenage daughter isn't making things any easier.
Hi Black Saturn,
I dont know the ins and outs of your situation but try not to let the BF's DD get to you too much. I used to be one of them and routinely gave my mums BF hell. It took me about 5 years to get used to him if I'm honest. Maybe she feels a bit insecure about sharing her Dad with someone or feels worried he wont have as much love for her now that he has lots of love for you??? I know it sounds daft but teenagers dont often think straight/rationally do they
Good luck with it,

Hi everyone
It's cold in our house! We've just got back from Birmingham seeing OH's twin sister and the heating doesn't come on for another hour. I'm warming up my fingers by typing to you lot!I've also got some planning to do for my week in school, so that'll keep me busy.
Whilst we were in Brum, we were introduced to "Jamie" who seems to have been going out with OH's twin for some time. No one was told about him, as she is very private about her life, not getting on overly well (chalk and cheese come to mind?) with their mum. Anyway, we know not to say anything unless she brings it up, but he seemed like a really decent bloke. Seeing as twin is so headstrong, he seems to be able to put her in her place.
We had some bought soup for lunch (sorry), but I've got a veggie pasta sauce out of the freezer for supper tonight. Well, that's what it looks like, so we'll see when it's defrosted.
OH is cleaning the house now, whilst I type this, so I'd better get on with sorting out my planning!
See you folks later

Everyone is laid up with cough&cold in our house. I've been doing very little all day other than make hot drinks and renewing the hot water in the hot water bottles.
Had to pop and get more cough mixture and called in at ASDA next door. Picked up some reduced price veg for £6, used coupons and got it down to 19p :T that's extra money in the kitty *meow*
Did manage to make 4 sheppard's pies to freeze. That'll mean we've got 4 easy proper meals that i just defrost when i'm too busy to cook. Took me an absolute age to peel all those potatoes.
Now i'm coming down with something *cough* *sniff-sniff*0 -
Hi all,
A bit late for a 'good morning' since it is past 6pm! But just wanted to pop in and say hi - it is lovely to see so many known names and also so many new ones, we are a fab forum, aren't we?
Anyway, this morning I went to see a film preview for free (as we are members of our local cinema, Greenwich PictureHouse, and get occasional offers like this). We watched Mrs Henderson Presents, it was really good, no special effects but very gentle and extremely good viewing.
Speaking of special effects - yesterday we all went as a family to see the new Harry Potter (GREAT! Don't miss it!) and paid all of £3.75 each with the DLR BOGOF offer.
After today's cinema DH and I had a walk around Greenwich Market and then came home and both of us had some leftover veg soup from last night. While DH watched the rugby, I made apple crumble, and after that we wrapped our bikes in tarp and put them outside in the garden - this means that soon I shall have to clean the computer room *sigh* - so far I had the excuse that the bikes took all the space and I could not move around them hehehe.
Then I logged on the internet.
Now I am about to go and finish making dinner (No 'tea' for us I'm afraid, being Italian I always end up with a late-ish hot dinner every evening, which usually consist of pasta concoctions of sorts!). Tonight dinner is a fryup of mix veg mixed with pasta, then mixed with chopped feta and then baked in the oven. As the oven is on I shall also bake half a pumpkin from my organic veg delivery and of course the apple crumble.
Then I shall leave the oven open so it warms up the house a bit more and then I want to go to bed with a nice hot chocolate and a book.
Love to all
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hi All,
Been to church this morning, (Methodist too, MATH) Actually we are Cof E but go to a Methodist church  , DD's are keen at the mo as parts are being dished out for the childrens service at Christmas. Came home, OH had just finished brekkie! Rushed around made beds and cleaned bathroom, prepped all veggies for tea and put lamb in SC. FIL arrived to collect DD2. OH,DD1 and I went to see Harry Potter. Excellent film!
OH does not read books, I keep trying to convince him to try a HP book as he really is missing so much detail by just watching the films, although they are good, but I think they are just too thick for him!
Came home, DD2 was delivered home, had tea (yummy) watched Emmerdale. Just about to make a cup of tea and take DD's up to bed, then its sewing in front of the TV tonight. The ironing can wait until tomorrow night.0 -
Morning All,
The night from hell for me, DD1 (3) wet the bed twice- again  Anyone got any bright ideas on how to get her to stop? I am going to try bribery this week and use a star chart. I've not got angry with her as she is sad she is wet anyway and I dont think it would help.
DH is off work today and tomorrow (my birthday tomorrow-26th) so nothing too strenuous planned for the next couple of days. Off to argos today to exchange my faulty BM, going to get the makings for bread on the way home as I cant wait until shopping day.
Please as I think I am going to be under budget on my first challenge. Dont know whether I've done well or the budget was too high. Still, its £140 less than I spent in sept (£543!) so I am proud in any case. And shall set it lower this month, not really a challenge otherwise is it?
Off to have some coffee and put a load in WM,
Have a good (and not too cold) day,

Morning
Not a good night here either! Had about 2hrs kip and am knackered! Had completely seized up and had to wake OH to help me out of bed and downstairscant wait for the stairlift-will be much easier and I'll be independant abit. Have taken some pain killers and these should kick in soon
Its so flippin cold and this makes me worse
Did a loaf in BM last night for today and looks/smells good. There is a load in the WM that needs going on in a minute and DW will go on after breakfast. OH has final coat of gloss to put on stairs/door frames before carpet comes. Toilet has been cleaned and downstairs is clean and tidy.
Am going to call the council today about a few things that need to go to the tip. Am going to ask if they will remove for free...worth a try  I'll see if OH can put into a pile-theres not alot but will save us going to the tip and putting mucky stuff in the carIts difficult for OH to get away as he's always looking after me-poor fellow!
Have a ton of other calls to make and have a bit for the WM that needs picking up-so hopefully that will get done today. Cheques need to be paid in down the road and 4 ebay small parcels need to be sent too.
Getting the SC out today (trying to use at least 1/2 times a week) and am browning off some cheapie lamb, then stewing with asda lamb stew sachet (lovely 25p), chicked peas, tin of beans, onion, carrots, potatoes & peas. Normally done by lunch so pick at it through the day with a chunk of bread and butter...yummy.
Breakie:toast/cereal. Lunch/Dinner: lamb stew & bread/butter.
Will catch up later-Take care and wrap up warm.

morning all,
a bad night for me too,had about 2 hours sleep......the rest of the night i was kept up by dd2,i think it must be teething as she seems to be and shes been like this for the last 4/5 nights, and its not helped by the fact she came down with a cold yesterday.
bm on,washing machine ready to go on when dd1 gets up,slowcooker will be put on around 12pm.ironing mountain waiting for me tonight-im going to do it whilst watching im a celebrity get me out of here.....in fact im going to aim to clear my huge backlog by doing a little every night whilst its on.
trying to get housework and washing all done today as house insurance inspectors are coming to look at our dining room floor tomorrow so i dont want to be trying to do any then......im keeping my fingers crossed they replace it all(its a through room living+dining but only dining area is damaged but you obviously cant just replace some).....it flooded and got damaged last wednesday after a radiator pipe burst at 2am and flooded us  unfortunately the same day the clutch went on our car costing £175
