  • Hi everyone, :hello:
Just come back from Aldi, and am so pleased, have met my grocery challenge! :money: This means that I have managed to shave £15 - £20 off my weekly shopping budget, with no noticeable difference, in fact we are eating so much better. Think Ill have a nice Aldi filter coffee and fake baileys combo to celebrate in a minute! :coffee:
Had a letter from Scottish power saying they are increasing our direct debit for gas and electricity combined to £54 per month. Can't understand this as it was £60 and they kept having to send us refunds as we had GROSSLY overpaid, they have only just lowered it and we are in credit. Think I'll have to give them a ring about this. I'm almost finished with Martins new book so I was planning to overhaul all our providers anyway so instead of waiting until January, I may be changing from Scottish Power earlier.
I have 8 new library books to tackle, including a cookery book with lots of piccies of the lovely James Martin in. (Tbh, I didnt really want to get any recipes I just wanted to drool salaciously over James  ) Finally made it to the library with my black bag over my shoulder like Father Xmas had so many books and audio books between me and the kids. Staggered out again with an equally big bag. Had to part with excellent cook book "Cheap and Easy" :p (vegetarian) cook book by Rose Elliott after Id copied down all the recipes I wanted to try.
My "new" coat has arrived from ebay so I wont have a cold bum next week on my travels to work, (current coat was bought for driving in and is only hip length) have to catch the bus now and poor rear end was feeling sorry for itself. Also new blouse and boots arrived also from ebay (spending my profits from all my ebay sales) so Im going to have a try on in a minute.
Im off to see HP tomorrow with DD1 and OH, DD2 thought she may be scared so is going to grandparents. Im so excited, GOF is my favourite of the HP books. :j
Right Im off to change beds etc, have a good weekend!

    Nope.

You've cooked them and completely changed them inside the cake so they're fine for however long you want to make the cake last for.

Good excuse for chomping all the cake though! chuckle.gif

    Hello folks,

This morning I went to the gym, the trainer put together a programme for me so soon I should be FIT! I borrowed a DVD from there too which is free for members and will be our entertainment sorted for tonight! :)

Then I went to Tesco with my Mum, I was chuffed as my grocery spending feels so under control, I am wasting so little food now and have found that I am happy to eat many of the value range products. This week we spent £12.04.

This afternoon I made a batch of choc chip muffins and some oatmeal biscuits.

Tonight I might be naughty and get out a frozen pizza to make with oven chips for a treat as it's Saturday night. OH loves it too.

I have got all the weekly household chores to do, will see if I have the energy to do some today, otherwise they will have to wait till tomorrow. Although part of tomorrow is taken up already with some extra care work I'm doing for a family with 7 year old autistic twins. I'm looking forward to it even though it will be hard work at first.

Tomorrow I may try to make it into town to see the switching on of the Christmas lights. Sad I know as I have no kids, but I so love Christmas!

  • Hello again,

I've made some more lettuce soup, I can't face eating salad while its so cold and some quick fudge - make a great bribe for DD3 who is potty training at the moment.

Other than that I have been machine patching the quilts they are getting for an extra christmas present. I have been collecting bargain quilting fabric for years and thought it was time I did something with it!

I've only got mince in the freezer - has anyone got a meatloaf recipe so I can do it with roasties tomorrow?

    Thanks, Sally.

    Good afternoon!

Went swimming this morning -my costume on its way out,so decided to get a new one - they are so expensive! Cheapo ones don't last at all, but the good ones are still £15 -£25 even in the outlet stores. Then we went to see Harry Potter - very long but we both thought it was good. Football results not going DH's way, so I have left him shouting at the radio and come on the computer for a bit of peace!

    Have a good evening everyone!

Evening everyone, sorry I'm late. DH is at home this week and I can barely get near the computer. I had to take everyone into town with me today and it was a total nightmare. I finally got rid of DS around lunchtime when his dad met us in town and picked him up, he was lovely enough to buy us all a Ghluwein when we met up as the German market is in town for the week. I thought I'd really enjoy it as I miss Germany so much but they really whacked the prices up and I just kept thinking how I could buy it all for less in Aldi or Lidl :D

DH and DD2 went home early and left me to get on with the shopping and I got some lovely stuff for christmas and 3 craft books for me from the Oxfam shop. Also stocked my Advantage card with more points and got my No7 and 17 gift bags free and another 5 pound voucher for spending over 20 quid and got another 10 quids worth of points on my card :D
